A Letter for You

By Shadow Pikachu and Shadow Squirtle

Ash stared up at the sky. Slowly, he sat down in the soft grass. In his hand he held a letter for a girl. A girl that he loved very much. Sighing, he looked down at the letter.

“I finally managed to finish you. After years of trying to figure out what to say to her, I’ve finally finished you. But,” Ash sighed again, “Now, I don’t even have the guts to send you to her.”

In frustration, Ash laid down in the grass and looked back up at the sky. How could he ever even hope to send this letter to her? After all, it did contain every single part of his heart. He had made sure to write down everything. How he felt. When he started to feel this way. When he noticed it. Why he never told her. How long he’s felt this way. That he’d always feel this way. So how could he ever even think to send it?

“Pikapi?” a faint voice sounded.

“Yeah, Pikachu?” Ash sighed.

“Chu pika?”

“Yeah, I’m ok. I finally finished this letter.”

“Pika?! Chu pikachu!”

“I’m not gonna send it,” Ash stated, “I can’t.”

“Pikachu!?”

“Because it would mean that I’m ending my friendship with her and I don’t want to do that,” Ash said, staring at the letter, “That friendship means more than anything to me.”

“Chu….”

“Sorry buddy. Guess it’ll be just me and you for the rest of our lives,” Ash stated, trying to smile at the electric pokemon.

“Pika…Chu, Pikapi, pikachu pi pika?”

“Hm? You want to go throw this letter away for me? You sure that’s alright to do?” Ash questioned.

“Pika. Pikachu pika chupi.”

“I guess so,” Ash paused and then smiled, “Alrighty then. Thanks buddy.”

Pikachu quickly grabbed the letter from its trainer and ran back to camp. It needed to find a way to send it. Any way to get it to the girl that held Pikapi’s heart. Sealing it in an envelope, Pikachu set off to find a pokemon to take it to her.

Trying not to wander to far from camp, Pikachu slowly walked around the forest. There had to be a pokemon somewhere. It jumped at the sound of twigs cracking behind it. In the darkness, Pikachu had trouble seeing the figure behind it.

W-who’s there?!” Pikachu exclaimed.

Just a fellow Pokemon trying to figure out why a Pikachu is in the forest,” the pokemon said.

“What kind of Pokemon are you?” Pikachu questioned.

I am a Riolu. The pre-evolved form of Lucario.” The pokemon said, stepping closer allowing Pikachu to see it.

Oh thank goodness. Riolu, may I ask a favor of you?”

“A favor?”

“Yes. You see, my trainer is quite stubborn and refuses to send this letter to the girl he loves. So I need to get this letter to the red-headed girl who lives in the Cerulean City Gym. Do you know of any pokemon who can take it to her?”

“Well, I can take it to the sea shore where I can maybe find a Pelipepper to take it to her.”

“Would you? That would be just wonderful!”

“Sure, but I’ll need something in return.”

“What would that be?”

“A Lusturious Orb.”

“What?!”

“That’s the item that I need.”

“How am I supposed to find that?!”

“Hm…good point. Nevermind then. I’ll settle for a hundred Watmel berries then.”

“…Fine…But take the letter first. I won’t give them to you until I know that the girl has the letter.”

“…”

“That’s my only offer. Take it or leave it.”

“I’ll only take it if you add fifty Belue berries and twenty-five Magost berries.”

“…”

“That’s what I need from you if you want me to actually make sure that this letter gets to that girl of yours.”

“Pikachu? Hey, buddy, where’d you go?”

“AH! That’s my trainer!”

“Time to choose. So what’s it going to be?”

“…”

“Pikachu!”

“I’m coming, Pikapi!”

“Well?”

“…Fine. It’s a deal.”

The two pokemon quickly shook paws. Then Pikachu placed the letter into Riolu’s paw and started to run back to camp. But before it got to far, it turned and glared at Riolu.

If anything should happen to that letter, even the tiniest tear, you won’t get paid. And,” Pikachu paused to send out a small amount of electricity, “you’ll be the one paying the price.”
