Dis: I don't own Pokemon but do I own what I created. If you want to, you can use my region, Prof.'s, or my Pokemon. I don't care. As long as you don't use my characters such as Kyle or Ashley, then go right ahead!!! ****Jade Hearts**** By: StarrybluMew * This means it's in italics. The leaves gently fell off of a tree as Ashley darted past it. She didn't know where she was headed or what she'd do, but she did know one thing: she had to get away from Tommy. She hated to admit, but Ashley was jelous of Tommy's rare Pokemon. He always got what he wanted, but she never got anything. Tommy had a girlfriend and Ashley didn't. Tommy had enough money to go to collage when he was older. They only way he got that kind of money was because Ashley's parents had saved up a Spoink bank for him. Ashley didn't even know whether she had a Spoink bank or not. But she did know one thing, she was tired of it. Of it all. But mosty importantly, of *him*. "I'm telling ya Flame, we've gotta get away from Veriden." Kyle said as he slid his mini-P*DA back into his jean pocket. He ran his hand through his shiny, scarlet red hair. "If we stick around with him on our backs all the time, then sooner or later we're going to get hurt." Flame nodded in agreement. As they were talking, a twig broke. Kyle looked towards the green bushes that were near the trail and asked, "What was that?". Flame shrugged as Kyle looked in every direction. Ashley ran so hard down the dirt trail that her legs felt as if they were on fire. Her chest was burning and to make it all worse, she was running out of breathe. But she couldn't stop. Tommy and his Machop might be catch up with her. For once in her life, Ashley was going to make a difference. She was going to become a Pokemon Master while Tommy just watched with envy. Soon, Ashley was in a clearing. As she stopped to take a breath, she heard someone talking. "Flame, I want you to use flamethrower on any Pokemon who trys to hurt us." Flame looked at Kyle happily as he chirpped "Char! Charmander!" Kyle placed his hands on his hips as he proclaimed "Yeah right. What makes you think that there's *actually* a girl behind those bushes?" Flame giggled as he made a kissy-wissy face at Kyle. "Oh, very funny. And I bet that you don't even have a girlfriend, do you Flame?" A purple/black ground was behind Flame as he sat in the fee-dle position. "See what I mean?" Kyle grumbled. A shrill giggle was heard from behind the bushes. Kyle turned around to face them once again to find a girl with long, brown hair and deep brown eyes. The girl was wearing a purple, unbuttoned shirt on top of a pink shirt with red flowers on it. On the pink, flowered shirt there was a ribbon that stretched across her shirt in four directions. For shoes, she was wearing just plain old, white sneakers. "Oh um, hi!" Ashley said. How embaressing! "What are you doing?" Kyle asked as Ashley removed a leaf from her hair. "Oh, whi it's a long story. Flame had gotten out of his fee-dle position and had walked up to Ashley with a smile plastered on his face. "Char Mander? Ma mander char der." Kyle gently nudged Flame as Ashley gasped at the sight of seeing a shiny Pokemon with this type of color. "How did you get that Charmander?" Kyle looked at Ashley and then at Flame as he said, "Oh, why my boss got 'em for me." Charmander purred like a kitten as Kyle patted his head. "Oh wow! If your boss gave you that Pokemon, then I want to come work for him!" Ashley smiled at the joke she had just made. "So, what's your name?" Ashley asked as she rubbed Flame's head. Another purr came from the tiny lizard. "Kyle. What's yours?" Ashley repiled "Ashley Brimming." "Nice to meet ya, Ash." Ashley and Kyle both shook hands. "You too," Ashley said. Kyle then had a glint in his eye as he asked Ashley, "Do you have any Pokemon?" Ashley stepped back a couple of steps away from Kyle. She didn't even know him personally. He could work at Team Snagem or some place like that. "Um, why...why do you um...need to know?" Ashley asked as she took another step back. Kyle snickered at Ashley's expression. "Heh heh, just wondering if you'd like a battle. That's all." Ashley stopped. She looked at Kyle and asked him, "Oh, so you mean a Pokemon battle?" Kyle nodded. "Um, how do I do that?" Kyle and Flame fell on the ground. "You don't know how to battle?" Kyle gasped as him and Flame got up off the ground. "No...not really." Ashley felt her cheeks getting hot. Kyle slapped his forehead. "This is going to take awhile," he mouned. "Look, he's what you do." Ashley listened to what Kyle had to say. "We both call out one of our Pokemon for battle. As soon as you do, call out a move that your Pokemon knows. If my Pokemon faints, then I'll call out another one. Same for you. Got it so far?" Ashley quickly nodded. It sounded easy to her. "Good. When all of the Pokemon on your team faints, you'll lose. If you make all of the Pokemon on my team faint, I'll lose. Then I'll hand over some cash." "That's it?" Ashley asked. "Yeah." Kyle repiled. "Then let's get started!" Ashley cheered. "How many Pokemon do you got?" Kyle asked as he took out a red and white ball from his pocket. "I only have one," Ashley admitted. "and that's my Shabrei." Kyle raised an eyebrow at Ashley. "Shabrei, huh?" "Yeah." "Those things are alot harder to find than a shiny Charmander." Ashley shrugged as she said "Whatever." Kyle rolled his eyes at the naive girl. "No, I'm serious. The population is very limited. So many are dying out because of Team Rocket or example." Ashley licked her lips. "Can we just get on with the battle please? I'm very thirsty." "Fine." Kyle rolled his eyes again. "Come on out, Nugget!" Kyle shouted as a long bodyed Pokemon came out of it's ball in a flash of red energy. "Furret!" the Furret said. "Now, it's your turn." Kyle insisted. "Um, okay." Ashley reached down into the pocket of her purple shirt and pulled out a great ball. "Let's go, Shabrei!" Ashley shouted as she tossed the ball up into the air. The ball popped open and Shabrei came out, wagging his little black tail. "Brei!" Shabrei called out at the other Pokemon. "You do know Shabrei's moves, don't you?" Kyle asked. Ashley nodded. "Shabrei knows tackle and tail whip, but I'm pretty sure that's it." Kyle's jaw dropped. "What do you mean that's it?" He yelled. Ashley nervously reached down into her pocket, looking for a Pokedex. "Oh no!" Ashley cired out as she sereached for her Pokedex. "I can't find it!" Kyle sighed as he pulled out his mini-P*DA. He aimed the P*DA at Shabrei and he clicked on the Pokedex opption. The Pokedex showed a picture of Shabrei and said: Shabrei, the Loyal Pokemon ********************************** Shabrei is known for being very loyal to it's trainer if trained correctly. Because of their cute appearence and personality, the Shabrei is poplular with girls. Kyle pressed his finger down on the opption that read "MOVES". A list of moves appeared on the tiny screen. "Hey Ash," Kyle called. "Com over here. I gotta show you something." Ashley walked over to where Kyle was standing. She glancedat the screen and asked, "What is *that*?" Kyle smirked as he repiled "It's a Gameboy. What'd you think it is?" Ashley knew sarcasim when she heard it. Tommy was very sarcastic himself. "It's a um, a Video Now?" Kyle rolled his eyes at Ashley. "No, it's a P*DA." "Huh?" Ashley asked as Kyle held it up to her. "P*DA. Pokemon Digital Asissant." Ashley wasn't to impressed. She knew what a P*DA was because her mom had one of her own. She just couldn't figure out why it's so small. "Why's it tiny?" She asked. Kyle turned to her and said "Because P*DA's come in sizes. Mine's a mini size P*DA." "Oh." Kyle ran his hand through his scarlet hair as he said "Shabrei can learn these moves. But you're right. Right now the only moves Shabrei has learned are tackle and tail whip." Ashley was disapointed. She'd figure that her first Pokemon would have more than two moves down path. "Can we please get on with the battle?" Ashley asked. "Sure." Kyle repiled as he slid the P*DA back into his pocket. "Now, you know what to do, right?" "Right!" Ashley said. A surge of exciment went through her body. "Nugget! Use quick attack!" Kyle shouted. Nugget ran around Shabrei. She was so fast, that Nugget seemed almost invisible. "Shabrei!" Ashley called out. "Use tackle!" Shabrei tried ramming his body up against Nugget, but Nugget was to fast. "Now Nugget!" Kyle yelled as Nugget slammed into Shabrei's tiny body. Shabrei tumbled back a few feet from where he was standing at. "Oh, no! Please get up, Shabrei!" Ashley shouted. "Now Nugget," Kyle yelled. "Use fire punch!" Red, bright flames began coming out from Nugget's paw. As she neared Shabrei's body, Shabrei leapt up and tackled Nugget. The flames coming from Nugget's paw touched Shabrei's body. Shabrei let out a shrill yelp of pain and then Nugget aimed her fist right at Shabrei's face. As Nugget threw the punch, it seemed like everything was in slow motion. Nugget's fist slowly slammed into Shabrei's face. A loud scream of pain was heard from Shabrei as he fell to the ground---fainted. "Oh, Shabrei!" Ashley cired as she picked up the fainted Pokemon. Shabrei slowly shut his eyes as Ashley stroked his crisp fur. "What should I do now?" Ashley asked. Frantic, she ran over to Kyle and started tugging on his black shirt. "What should I do?" Ashley repeated. Kyle took a deep breathe. Then he said, "Chill. He's okay. We just gotta take him to a Pokemon Center." Ashley let go of Kyle's shirt. "Oh," she muttered as Kyle pointed west. "You need to go west to the first town. There you can get Shabrei healed up and win your first gym badge." Ashley nodded as Kyle dug around in his pocket. He called Nugget back into her ball. In a flash of red energy, Nugget was gone. Then Kyle began walking away down the trail with his faithful Charmander by his side. A/N: I think chapter 1 and this chapter are the best one's so far. I hope I detailed the battle seen correctly though.
