Dis: I own this fic but I don't own Pokemon or Pepsi products. Or 92.5 WBKR. Or anything else for that matter. This chapter will be short so don't expect anything long. A/N: * This means somebody's thinking ****Speck**** By: StarrybluMew Chapter Seven: The Name Game The long drive home was boring. Since they lived so far out in the country of Olivine City, the drive took just a couple of hours. Peggy switched the station every now and then so Jody couldn't hear any nasty words like "dam" or "shit". As Jody stroked Growlite's soft fur, Peggy gave a quick glance into the rearview mirror. Her eyes softened at the beautiful sight of Jody and Growlite loving on each other. Growlite gave a slight lick to Jody's leg and Jody giggled. Peggy smirked at her young inocence. So young, but yet so lively. *Just like Dan...* Peggy thought to herself. As she dirfted away in her deep thoughts, Jody spoke up and said, "Mommy, I want to give Growlite a name." Peggy quickly snapped out of her memories and back to the real world as she stuttered, "Oh, why...why sure Jody. Go right ahead." Jody kicked her feet as she asked, "Will you help me Mommy?" Peggy kept her focus as she replied "With what, Jody?" Jody continued kicking her feet as she said "With a name." Growlite licked his lips as a Pepsi commercial aired on the radio station 92.5 WBKR. "Hmmmmm, why don't you name him Spot? Or Lucky?" Jody shook her head as she whinned "Nooooooo, Mommy! I want to name him a pretty name." Names of all kinds got jumbled up in Peggy's mind as she thought of a name. "What about Jerry? Or Bobby?" Jody giggled at the name of Bobby. "What's so funny?" Jody let out a shrill giggle as she replied "Bobby!" Peggy looked back at Jody through the rearview mirror as she said, "Hey! You have an uncle named Bobby, you know." Jody kicked her feet faster as she screamed "Uncle Bobby! Uncle Bobby!" Growlite covered his ears with his paws as Peggy laughed. "Yeah, that's right. And Unlce Bobby brought you that nice swimming pool, didn't he?" Jody screamed the words "Nice Swimming pool! Nice swimming pool!" Growlite pushed down harder on his ears to help stop the horrible sound coming from his new master. Jody screamed out those words once more. Then she turned around to see a large black spot on Growlite's orange body. "Mommy," Jody asked as she pointed at it. "What's that?" Peggy replied "Oh, why that's a spot Jody. He was born with it." Jody cocked her head from side-to-side as she asked "Born with it?" Peggy nodded as she said, "Mmmmmm- hmmmmm. Just like you were born with your freckles." It was true, Jody had three freckles covering her left cheek. They were faded, so you couldn't really see them until you got closer to her face. "You mean my specks?" (that's what she called them). Peggy nodded as another mini-van went past her. Jody thought for a minute. Then she spoke up and told her mom, "Mommy, I think I want to name this Growlite Speck." Peggy looked back at Jody as she asked, "Speck? Why Speck?" "Because both me and Growlite have specks." Peggy smiled as she, Jody, and Speck all drove up into the driveway. A/N: Incase you didn't know, they were driving a mini-van. Also, I'm sorry to everyone named Bobby for making that joke. It's just I couldn't think of anything else.
