Mike: Hiya Pokémon and Matrix fans; yeah that’s right, I’m doing a crossover with Pokémon and The Matrix.

Ash: Now you’re talking! I love The Matrix!

Brock: Yeah, *goes into a dream state* especially Trinity.

Misty: *pulls Brock’s ear* Sorry Romeo, but she’s got Neo.

Brock: Ow, ow! Ok Misty, I get it!

Mike: Anyway, this is a first-time gig of crossing The Matrix with Pokémon so no one flame me for this ok. Onto the disclaimer.

Disclaimer: The Matrix belongs to Warner Bros. and the Wachowsky Brothers. Pokémon is the property of Nintendo, Game Freak, and 4Kids Entertainment.

Chapter 1: The Hacker

It was a quiet, hustle and bustle day in Saffron City; everyone was going about their business and going about their lives. Little did these people know, their lives were not real, in this world anyway. But we’re not going to go into that just yet. Our story is about a young man who goes by the name of Ash Ketchum. He was a well-respected young man at the age of 21. At his age, people consider him a computer genius at the Silph Company building. Little did anyone know, he was also a computer hacker with the alias, Satoshi.

For a couple of years, he’s been in touch with another hacker named Slifer. The two of them have hacked into many military sites and compounds. Slifer is among many wanted hackers in the world Ash lived in. But now he was going to be in for another rude awakening. But not an awakening you’d expect to have.

We see Ash sleeping in front of his own computer while the computer is surfing the internet on it’s own. Music is blaring into Ash’s headphones as he sleeps the day away. Ash is as I said, a 21-year-old young man who had raven black hair and tan colored skin. As he sleeps, his computer screen turns black and a green highlight was blinking on the screen. Ash, sensing something was up with his computer slowly opened his eyes revealing their amber color as he stared at the computer. Then words slowly typed on their own onto the computer.

“Wake up Satoshi.”

“Huh?” Ash stared blankly at the computer as it knew who he was.

“It’s Slifer.” The computer typed again.

“Oh.” Ash said as he typed random keys but on the screen it said, “How are you Slifer?”

“Just fine Satoshi.” ‘Slifer’ typed on the other side. But then he typed something else. “Next time, don’t fall asleep in front of your computer.”

“Huh? How did…” Ash began but before he could finish, the computer typed the rest. “…I know that you were asleep? You’ll know soon enough.”

“What’s he talking about?” Ash asked to no one but he got a bigger surprise when he saw a typed response. “As I said, you’ll know soon enough.”

“Remember that question that you wanted to ask me when I first discussed it with you?” Slifer typed in again as Ash read it all.

Ash thought about it for a second then suddenly remembered. “Oh yeah…I wanted to ask him what is the Matrix.”

“You will know what the Matrix is soon. In the mean time, follow the Pikachu.”

“Huh? ‘Follow the Pikachu?’” Ash echoed as he read what his computer said.

“Knock, knock Satoshi.”

Knocks were heard at his door catching him off-guard. He literally jumped out of his seat as he heard it. He looked to his door and then back to his computer really quick. When he looked, the screen was blank again. No green cursor this time though. He heard more knocking so he got up out of his seat, walked up to the door, and opened it and it was his friends. One was a guy with spiky brown hair, a ying yang medallion hung under his chin, and his shirt was purple. (Guess who?) The other was a brown-haired girl who wore a red bandana on her head and a red t-shirt, complete with black shorts and gray gloves. The last one was a girl who had blue hair in two bushy pigtails and a t-shirt with a yellow star in the middle.

“Hey Satoshi, got the disk?” The guy asked.

“Oh, sure Gary.” Ash said as he reached back to his computer and picked up a disk and handed it to him. “Remember to use this carefully, Gary.”

“Yeah, yeah, you don’t exist I know the drill.” Gary said in a sarcastic tone. “We were planning on heading over to the arcade, wanna come with?”

“Uh…” Ash said blankly before finishing. “I dunno guys, I’ve got tons of work to do.”

“Aww come on Ash, it’ll be fun!” The brown-haired girl said.

“Yeah Ash, don’t be such a downer.” The blue-haired girl said before turning her hip towards him with her hands on it.

“Well…” Ash said before catching a glimpse of a Pikachu tattoo on the blue-haired girl’s right arm. “Alright, I’ll go.”

~*~*~*~*~

A half hour later, Ash was inside a huge arcade where games of every kind were being played by dozens of teenagers and young-adults. Games like Tekken, Dance Dance Revolution, Mortal Kombat, etc.  Ash was just starring at everyone as they played video games and kept trying to beat other high scores. Unbeknownst to him, someone was watching him. In a far corner, an orange-haired girl wearing a leather tank top and leather shorts was watching him. Covering her eyes were a pair of blue-shaded sunglasses that had no frames. She also wore a pair of leather high-healed boots and a pair of leather fingerless gloves. (A/N: Whew, people in the Matrix sure wear a lot of leather.)

After glancing from left to right, she slowly advanced to him. Sensing her advance, Satoshi slowly turned his head towards the girl. When he got a look at her, he couldn’t believe how beautiful she was. The leather clothes showed-off her curves while he starred at her small face that had those blue-shaded sunglasses that concealed her eyes. She was a very beautiful girl.

“Hello Satoshi.” She greeted him as she walked up to him.

“How do you…” Ash began but she finished for him.

“Know your name?” She said with a smirk, but she then went up to his side whispering in his ear. “I’m here on behalf of Slifer.”

“You know Slifer?” Satoshi asked as he glanced at her.

“Shh, we can’t be seen together otherwise they’ll get suspicious.” She whispered in his ear.

“Who?” Satoshi whispered.

“You’ll know soon. I was sent her to pass a message onto you.” She whispered again taking off her sunglasses to reveal her aquamarine blue eyes that matched the shade of the sunglasses. “You’re in danger, Satoshi.”

“From who?” Satoshi asked with a little panic in his voice.

“I can’t tell you yet, all I can tell you is that Slifer will be waiting for you tomorrow. Meet him at the Motel 6 on Psychic Road.” She whispered again while putting on her sunglasses.

“Who are you?” Satoshi asked her while quirking an eyebrow.

“My name is Kasumi.” She replied with a smirk as she walked away.

Ash starred at her again as she walked out of sight. He had been wondering what she had told him. He was in danger, but by whom? Who would go after him? He’s just an ordinary guy trying to live his own life. But he didn’t let it bother him for now. All he knew was, this was his chance to finally meet Slifer.

Glancing about, he slowly made his way out of the arcade and back onto his motorcycle. Unknown to him, Kasumi was watching him from inside a black 2003 Ford Mustang GTE. She couldn’t help but to admire his features, even though that wasn’t his real image. Because this man, lived in a world called…

The Matrix

Mike: Well, what do you think so far Ash?

Ash: I like it, but let’s just see how I exit the Matrix.

Misty: And I take it Kasumi is moi?

Mike: That’s right Misty.

Misty: Cool! Do I get to fight off some agents?

Mike: We’ll see Misty, we’ll see. In the meantime, you all know what to do, read and review and no flames please.
