Ash followed Courtney and her Pokemon to the nearest ice cream shop. The inside was big enough to hold about fifteen Tyranitars! The walls were a blend of cheerful blue and yellow and everything, the walls, ceiling, windows, tables, floors, doors, counter, was sparkling clean. A tall woman with an apron walked into view. she saw the group and stopped in her tracks. "Courtney! What brings you here?" Courtney smiled. "Ice cream. We just finished a play. How are you Cassandra?" "I'm fine." Cassandra frowned. "They play was today? I thought it was tomorrow! I'm sorry I missed it!" "That's okay." Courtney replied as she set Oliver on the counter. "There will be other plays." She turned to her pokemon who were on the chairs next to her. "Okay, What kind of ice cream?" They then started to speak at once. "Strawberry banana!" "I want Pecha Berry Crunch!" "Pecan!" "Chocolate-Lime twist!" "Apple Vanilla!" "Chocolate!" "Orange-Raspberry!" "I'd like three scoops of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!" "Citrus-Pecha berry!" "Lemon!" Courtney was quickly writing down the requests and then she looked at Oliver. "You can have the Chocolate chip cookie dough, but not three scoops. How about two scoops?" Oliver looked a little disappointed but agreed to it. She then turned to Ash. "What would you and your friends like?" After they had gotten their ice cream they sat down at a large booth. Ash had gotten plain Vanilla, Natasha had gotten ketchup flavored ice cream. Ash wasn't sure what Brock, his pokemon, May or her pokemon had gotten, but Max had gotten the Sudowoodo Surprise. Ash looked at Courtney's Pokemon and saw that they were helping each other with their ice cream. Courtney was holding hers and Coral's, Magenta was holding hers and Burgundy's, Oliver was holding is and Cyan's Chartreuse was holding his own as was Violet and Azure was also holding Indigo's. He looked at his own pokemon and saw that Natasha was holding Skye's and Tommy was holding Cody's. Ash looked back at Courtney and saw that she was looking out the window in surprise. "They've never done that before!" Ash looked out the window in confusion. All he saw were the other people in the P.A.T and their pokemon walking towards the ice cream shop. "They've never done what before?" He asked. "This is the first time they joined us for ice cream!" Courtney replied looking at him before turning back to the window. Soon the shop was filled with people and Pokemon milling around and ordering ice cream. He watched them as he ate his ice cream. Kyle was right, she did spoil her pokemon a lot. "Do you always spoil your pokemon like this?" She looked at him confused. "What do you mean by that?" "Kyle told me that you take your pokemon to movies, ice cream, cloud watching and-" "What are you trying to say?" She asked squinting her eyes at him. "That you should train your pokemon more." He replied taking a bite of his ice cream. Her eyes opened wide. "But-" She started to say before he interrupted. "I know you're an actor and not a trainer, but training your pokemon some instead of spoiling them all the time might help balance out all the ice cream they eat." He was vaguely aware of Scotty staring in their direction. Courtney exchanged incredulous glances with Scotty, who grinned and winked. Courtney turned back to Ash and nodded in agreement. "Sure. Okay. I'll train them more. How about I have a practice battle with you? We could sure use the practice." She said gesturing to her pokemon. Ash frowned inwardly. There was something in her voice that he couldn't figure out. Irony? Resignation? Or was it something else entirely? "What pokemon should I use? Ivory?" She asked. He glanced at the wide eyed Pichu. "No, How about both of us using Pikachus. Azure against Natasha?" She shrugged. "Sure, why not." They finished their ice cream and walked out side with a crowd following right behind. They took their places with Courtney facing away from the ice cream shop with Oliver on her shoulder. "You do realize I won't make this an easy battle for you, don't you? The best practice is with a tough opponent." He called out. She shrugged. "Eh, I'll be fine. We should probably take the translators off first, so they won't be damaged." She then bent down and took off Azure's translator while Ash took Natasha's off. "Are you ready?" He asked. She looked at him puzzled. "Yeah, can I go first?" Ash nodded. "Go ahead." Courtney chewed her lip. "Okay. Azure use Thundershock." That was what Ash had been expecting. Thundershock was a low level attack. "Natasha, dodge and use Thunderbolt!" Courtney raised an eyebrow. "Azure! Dodge and Tail Whip!" Ash watched as the tail whip missed and then gave another command. "Natasha! Quick attack!" At that moment Courtney snorted but Ash ignored it. "Azure! Use Counter!" Ash straightened in surprise. Counter?! Counter was good against... "Aah! Natasha try to stop!" But Natasha couldn't stop and bounced off Azure's Counter attack. Courtney gave him a funny look. "What's the matter ASH? Did you accidentally misjudge your opponent?" She then turned to Azure. "Use hidden power!" "Not hidden power!" Ash whispered. "Natasha! Try to dodge it using agility!" Natasha avoided the hidden power just as it activated. Courtney laughed and clapped her hands. "Ok. So maybe I did misjudge her a little." He muttered. He frowned in her direction. "How about we speed things up a bit? Natasha! Quick attack!" "Azure! Mega P- Ow! Oliver! You're pulling my ear! Ow!" Ash canceled the quick attack and looked at Courtney and Oliver. Oliver was looking past Ash's right shoulder with a panicked expression. Courtney then caught sight of what Oliver was looking at and froze. Ash then turned to see what they were looking at and saw a man standing there. He had cold green eyes, a stony face and flaming red hair. Ash turned back to Courtney to see a look of anger mixed with disgust as she spat out the person's name. "Bart!" "What do you want Bart?" She asked cautiously. "I want my Pokemon back, and I want them back now!" He replied with a false calmness. Ash glanced at Courtney to see what her reaction would be. She had her hand on Oliver, who was still on her shoulder, but had a carefully neutral expression on her face. "Alright. But how about we have a battle for them. If I win I get your pokemon and if you win you get Oliver and Fern." Bart shrugged lazily. "Why not?" He then took out a pokeball. "Come on out and battle." Ash watched in anticipation as the pokemon coalesced into a.....Poliwag. Ash quickly looked to see what pokemon Courtney would use. Any of her electric type would have the advantage over a water type. Courtney raised an eyebrow and nodded to herself. "Alright. Oliver, I choose you." She said picking up the squirming Treecko, took off his translator, then whispered in his ear before setting him gently on the ground. Courtney glared at Bart. "Can we go first?" Bart sneered. "Go right ahead." Courtney smirked and looked at Oliver who was watching her carefully. "Oliver. I want you to focus. Clear your mind of all distractions." At the first command Oliver smiled and turned back to the Poliwag and spread his arms wide. "I know what she's doing." Faye said calmly. Ash turned to the Gardevoir curiously. "What is she doing?" She started to answer but Ash ignored her to listen to Courtney's next words. "Gather the energy that surrounds you. Let it build up inside of you aaannnnd-" Ash and Courtney watched as Oliver's tail slowly lifted off the ground. Courtney waited until the tail was pressed against Oliver's back. "GO Oliver! THUNDERBOLT!" Ash stared as the Treecko launched a powerful thunderbolt towards the Poliwag, which hit it and quickly ended the battle. "Oliver is a grass type! It shouldn't be able to use thunderbolt!" Max hissed to Ash. Faye smiled at the both of them. "Perhaps you should ask Courtney how Oliver knows that attack." Courtney walked forward and picked up the Poliwag. "Well, Bart, it looks like I now have your Pokemon. And you." She added pointing over his shoulder. "Are going to jail." Bart turned, still shocked at the battle he had just lost, and saw who Courtney was pointing to. It was Officer Jenny. They all watched silently as Officer Jenny arrested Bart and put him into a waiting truck. Courtney then turned to Sophie and handed her the Poliwag. "Since you have water types, this one should be with you." Sophie nodded. "Thank you. I'll take it over to Nurse Joy right away." She then turned and quickly ran to the Pokemon Center. Ash watched as the van took off, with Bart in the back and then Ash turned back to Courtney to see her talking to Mike and some girl that he hadn't seen before. She had greenish hair, green eyes and was kind of short. He then walked over to hear what they were saying. Courtney shook her head and laughed. "Kiki, you've quit and rejoined P.A.T. more times than I have. What's different this time?" "Because this time I'm staying permanently. And there's nobody or nothing that can make me do anything differently!" Courtney gave her a funny look and turned back to Mike. "I'm going back to the Pokemon Center to pack." She then turned to her Pokemon. "C'mon guys! I'll race all of you!" Her Electrode rode on her Mareep and then they race Courtney to the Pokemon Center. Her Jolteon was the winner. Ash watched them enter through the doors and then turned to Faye. He was about to say something but stopped and frowned. What did Courtney mean when she said that Kiki had quit and rejoined P.A.T. more than she did? How did her Treecko know an electric attack? He then looked at Faye who was smiling at him. "If you have a question for her, just go and ask." He started walking toward the Pokemon Center when he caught sight of Kyle. "I thought you told me that she spoils her pokemon!" He exclaimed. Kyle grinned. "I said she mostly spoils them. I didn't say completely! I also knew that she was training her pokemon so they could use different attacks, but I had no idea that her Treecko could use thunderbolt. If you decided to have her use her Eevee, you would have been battling a Pokemon who could use, shadow ball, iron tail, mimic, protect and hidden power." "So what is the most powerful attack that Azure knows?" Ash asked. Kyle thought for a second. "I think it would have to be counter, mimic or metronome." Ash was speechless. How did she teach her pokemon all those attacks? He then ran to the Pokemon Center to ask her those questions, with his pokemon following close behind. That is the end of the story! It may be an open ended story but it's that way for a reason. ;) If you have any questions email me at tolabuu84@hotmail.com not tolabu84@hotmail.com!
