The Life Before
Part Four: A Trainer for Pikachu
Pikachu knew today was not a normal day because the Professor was rushing about 
all morning long. Pikachu ate breakfast then headed into the valley as usual but 
today fewer Pokemon were there. No Bulbasaur or Squirtle or even Charmander. 
Pikachu was stunned by this and started yelling. Soon Pikachu started hearing 
strange sounds from creatures Pikachu had never seen before. Then Professor Oak 
came and grabbed Pikachu at which Pikachu shocked him. Professor told Pikachu to 
get into something called a Pokeball. Naturally Pikachu refused to get inside 
it. Professor opened the Pokeball and tried to put Pikachu into it but Pikachu 
ran away.

Just then Gary came into the lab. "Gramps what are you doing?" Gary asked. 
"Trying to get Pikachu into this Pokeball" He replied. So Gary tried to help but 
Pikachu only shocked him. They ran all over the place trying to catch Pikachu 
but he just kept running away from them. Finally Gary cornered Pikachu and 
grabbed him getting shocked in the process. Then they put Pikachu in the 
Pokeball while Pikachu growled angrily at them.

Soon trainers came in to get their first Pokemon. The first trainer chose the 
grass Pokemon Bulbasaur. The second trainer chose the fire Pokemon Charmander. 
Then it was Gary's turn he chose Squirtle the water Pokemon. Just as Gary was 
leaving Ash came rushing up late. He slammed into Gary but then headed into the 
lab to get his first Pokemon. He was upset when he found all the Pokemon gone 
but then Professor Oak said he had one more. Ash quickly agreed to take it. Out 
of the Pokeball came and electric Pokemon Pikachu. As soon as Ash saw it he 
hugged it causing it to shock him.

Pikachu hated being a Pokemon trainer's Pokemon. Pikachu hated Ash and hated 
what he was a Pokemon trainer. No one can tame me Pikachu angrily thought. 
Pikachu would soon realize how much Ash cared for him. A flock of Spearows were 
attacking Pikachu and Ash gave it all he had to save Pikachu. Pikachu realizing 
that Ahs cared gave up the last of his energy to save Ash. Soon after Pikachu 
became friends with his trainer Ash Ketchum.
