“What’re we going to do?” Landon asked, both of his Poke’mon guarding him from Chansey with bared teeth. “Simple; you sit there and watch us win.” At that moment, a gust of wind swirled around the alley; a helicopter was descending from above. “Chansey, hit them again with your Egg Bomb attack.” Chansey gave a grin and tossed its exploding eggs towards the boys and their Poke’mon. Landon was frozen solid; each one of his muscles were turned into an ice like consistency and kept him from moving. Syorin gave on e of his serious frowns instead of a frightened look. “Dratini, Dragonbreath!” “Totodile, use Water Gun!” Suddenly, a shot of blue flames and a stream of water rocketed into the alley; the attack collided with the bombs and ended in an explosive stalemate. A smile spread on Landon’s face as his two friends friend up to him. “May, Zeru—” “No time to thank us. You and Syorin have to stop Dewford Hall from being blown up.” “We’ll take care of these two.” May and Zeru flashed a thumbs-up. “You guys….thanks a bunch.” Landon grabbed both of his Poke’mon under his arms and ran off with Syorin and Bulbasaur. “Hey, they’re getting away!” Tsubimi pointed out. “You have bigger problems to worry about.” May said, folding her arms. “Hope you didn’t get too attached to that pile of stolen goods.” Zeru told them.

Landon and Syorin ran down the sidewalk in a mad hurry. To reduce the stress on their performance, they called their Poke’mon back to their poke’balls (except for Toya, of course). “Where are you going, Himura?” Syorin shouted up to Landon in somewhat of a pant. He felt that Landon had no idea where he was going and didn’t want to waste time. “We have to get some sort of transportation. We’re going to go to the police department to get it.” Landon answered. It was a miracle that the two even agreed on something—but it wasn’t like much of a choice to begin with. The police department was silent on the outside, but busy on the inside. Nurse Joy sat on one of the benches with her Chansey, watching the clock. From the window, they didn’t look too happy. “Syorin, how much time do we have left?” Landon asked. “We have fifteen minutes exactly. I hope this plan of yours works.” Syorin said a little skeptically. “I do too; especially because I’m making it up as I go along.” Landon mumbled under his breath. The police department came rushing up to their sights at the end of the block. “We’ll never make it if we have to go into the police station.” Syorin thought, looking at his watch. His eyes darted around for a way—any way—to cut back time from detonation. “But what?” That’s when his eyes fell on their ticket to victory—officer Jenny’s bike! It was just sitting there from when she had it a little while ago. “Landon, change of plans; head for the motor bike.” “The motor bike? What for?” “Just do it, you dolt!” Syorin snapped. “Okay—okay; you don’t have to go calling me names.” Stopping in front of the police station, the two attempted towards the bike. “What do we do now?” Landon asked. Syorin reached into his bag and pulled out a shiny silver key with teeth on both sides. “Don’t ask, just hop on.” He said. Since they were in no position for questions, Landon jumped into the passenger trailer seat. Syorin jumped onto the bike itself and inserted the silver key. The bike made a loud revving noise and rumbled smoothly. “What in the world—!?” Officer Jenny looked out of the police station window. When she saw the two kids, she nearly spilled her cup of coffee. “Syorin, do you know how to drive this thing?” Landon asked. He wasn’t exactly dependant on Syorin’s driving skills. “Nope,” VROOOM! Syorin kicked up the kick-stand and sped off down the road. “Whoooohooo!” They shouted into the wind just as Officer Jenny came bursting out of the door. “Hey, you kids get back here!” She shouted, but it was no use; Landon and Syorin were already far off down the street. “Oh, no!” Nurse Joy was next to come rushing from inside the police station. Chansey came trotting after her with the same worried expression.

For someone who didn’t know how to drive, Syorin handled the motor bike like a pro. Dewford Hall was a large, majestically lit building with tons of chat-busy people. The night stars were reflected off of the fountain in the middle. Landon would’ve marveled at its beauty, but he kept his eyes open for the explosive. “Do you see it, Himura?” Syorin asked as they came closer. He was bent a little low over the vehicle while he sped it up. “Uh…..” Landon let his eyes wander around the area. He didn’t even know where to look first. Dewford hall wasn’t exactly a small building, and with all of those people around, it was just that much harder. The machine vroom of the motorcycle sounded loudly in his ears. “….Huh? You can’t be serious.” Landon sweated anime style and blinked. There the bomb was, resting atop a high pillar of the building; a large timer strapped to sticks of dynamite. It was blinking a mad red, meaning that time was definitely running out. Were the people of Dewford hall seriously that dense? “Only four minutes left. Do you have a way to get up there? A Poke’mon perhaps?” “I have a way.”  Landon clenched his sword. For some strange reason, the flying red Poke’mon from his dreams made its image into his head. Her face and her near-kiss replayed inside his mind over and over. “Syorin, please take care of my Mudkip. I’m going to trust her with you.” Landon said calmly. Syorin looked a little shocked—his arch rival was actually giving him his trust. He nodded without anything to say. When the bike was pulled in front of Dewford Hall, Landon gave him Toya and jumped out. “What’re you going to do?” Syorin asked. “I’m going to be just like my father…I’ll run up the wall.” Landon said seriously. “Are you mad?!” “Who knows?” Landon broke off into the crowd of people. “God, I don’t know who this little red Poke’mon in my dreams is. But I ask you to give both of us the wings of bravery and know-how.” He prayed. The marble wall of Dewford Hall came rushing up, but he didn’t slow. He closed his eyes to let the courage flow through his body. He felt the need to impress someone special. Could it have been that red Poke’mon? Everyone had stopped what they were doing to watch the kid samurai run right to the wall. Some were smart enough to look up and finally notice the bomb, but not smart enough when they sent a wave of panic through the crowd by pointing it out. With a deep breath, Landon jumped towards the wall, his Crystal Bell vibrating and glowing. This was it—one chance to win it or blow it. His feet planted on the side wall and he was suspended for a brief moment. The crowd gave an “Awe” at him with breath-taking gasps. Landon pushed off the wall and landed onto one of the lower large pillars. The first jump had cleared the ice and he wasn’t as afraid anymore. Pushing off higher and higher, he could hear the ticking of the bomb become louder.

Landon landed on the roof pangs of the Dewford Hall. The jumps may have been quick, but it was a long way down to the ground. The bomb was now in plain sight at the base of a second level pillar. “There you are; come to Landon.” Landon started to crawl his way up. His face was covered in sweat that dripped onto the roof. However, the Poke’mon and his prayer kept him going. He finally reached the dynamite-stick bomb with a red timer strapped to it. “Only sixty seconds?!!!” He shrieked at the blinking numbers. He couldn’t deactivate it even if he knew how—he had to get rid of it and quick! Landon grasped the bomb and tugged hard. However, the sticks didn’t budge an inch. (T-minus fourty-one seconds!) He tugged harder on it with a more firm grip. His palms started to sweat and his feet were ready to give in. It wasn’t going to end like this—he was not going to allow it! Slowly, his wet palms started to slip off the ticking bomb. “I’m not going to lose my hold! I am Landon Himura, an Origin Waker with a destiny ahead of me. It won’t be lost by Team Darkhorn!” The near-kiss image flew in his head. At the reaction of Landon’s sudden feelings, the Crystal Bell let off a quick and bright flash. The bomb popped off into his arms a lot easier. (T-minus six seconds!) This all relied on Landon’s last action; he tossed the bomb up and drew the sakaba-tou, “Suishou-jitsu style! Phoenix Hammer attack!” He brought the flat end whooshing through the air like a baseball bat; the bomb was struck and hurled high into the starry night sky. Two…one…KABOOOMM! An explosion went off like a firework of orange and red. The people were only hit by a minor shockwave, but no major damage was dealt. Landon, who was panting, let out a sigh of relief.

It didn’t take long before Officer Jenny and her squad came riding down the road to Dewford Hall. Nurse Joy, Chansey, Zeru, and May were riding with them. Landon clambered down from the high building and onto the soft grass below. “Whoo!” He breathed. “Mudkip!” Landon looked up to see Toya dashing right to him; she jumped into his arms and rubbed her body against him to show she was very proud of her heroic trainer. Syorin just stood on the wall with his arms folded and his eyes and mouth shut. “What in the world were you two doing?!” Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny ran up to them. “You could’ve gotten hurt or killed!” “You’ve endangered each other and your Poke’mon!” Then, their frowns turned to smiles, “But you saved Dewford Town. We can’t thank you enough.” They said together. From in the Hall lawn, the people all gave a round of applause to their heroes. May and Zeru pushed their way through the crowd, making their way to their friend. “Good job, Landon.” Zeru flashed a thumbs-up. May held out her hand and revealed Landon’s badges. “Team Darkhorn got away, but not with the stuff.” Landon nodded to her and took his badges. Then he looked up into the sky. “….!!!” It was her! That red Poke’mon from his dreams! She soared right above his head and away invisibly into the night sky. (Who is this strange new Poke’mon that Landon sees and what is her purpose in his life?
