Zeru opened his eyes slowly—he could actually move! He worked his arms and legs and seemed to be all right. But when he glanced down, he noticed the stone figures of Treecko, Phanpy, and Charmander. “….no! It’s turning everyone into stone!” He growled, dropping to his knees. “That fool; what was he thinking?!” Syorin stood with his arms folded, “This monstrosity will stop at nothing until it’s turned everything into stone. It’ll have to be stopped immediately.” “Ivysauuuurr!” “Bay—eeee!!” Ivysaur and Bayleef launched a battalion of razor-sharp leaves towards the dragon. The attack cut through the air with spiraling speed and deadly precision. “….RAAA!” SPWEE! A beam of red light flashed from the Gorgon’s eyes. In an instant, the leaves hardened and dropped to the ground in a harsh crumble. But the beam continued on, rather than dying out, and struck the two grass Poke’mon. “Bayyyy—” “Sauurrr—” With more stiffening sounds, they converted to stone in only a matter of seconds. “Bayleef!” Landon ran over to Bayleef and knelt down to her. He ran his hand along her head; he could feel the warmth of their bond start to become colder. He clenched his fists and teeth in anger. “Landon, we can’t hide it anymore.” Syorin took a step closer. Landon looked over to him in question. “….hide it?” “Yeah; we have to reveal ourselves in order to save our Poke’mon.” Still, Landon looked as clueless as ever. Syroin turned to him, glaring, “You fool! It’s our jobs as Origin Wakers to send this darkness away. We have no choice but to do it here. And regrettably….” Syorin turned away with a more regrettable frown, “I may need your help on this one.” “My….help?” “Dolt! Now would be a good time.” Syorin tossed his bag to the ground and held up his hands. The Clear Bell gave a light ringing sound as it started to glow. “You beast—I’ll stop you right here and now!” He cried towards the dragon, who had closed it’s deadly crimson eyes again. “Shuntetsatsu Mallets, come to me!!” Syorin shouted. In reaction to his voice, two threads of light burst from the Clear Bell; they spiraled around his body before making their way to his hands. The light took shape as thin cylindrical objects at first. As the transformation progressed, two giant mallet heads became visible. The light flashed away to reveal that they looked like they were made from glass. “Well, Himura? Where’s your at?” Syorin glanced at Landon. The young swordsman stood in shock. He could sense that Syorin put little effort in shaping his weapon. It made him feel a little inferior since he had to use a sword to shape his energy. Perhaps Syorin’s bragging could be backed up after all. “Landon, stop stalling! That monster has to be stopped now!” Syorin hissed. “Oh-right,” Lanodn grasped the hilt of his sword and closed his eyes. “Lan, what are you doing—we have to get outta’ here.” Zeru stated. He, May, and Professor Cosmo wanted to leave, though the fact that Syorin just produced two mallets out of thin air was starting to sink it. Landon didn’t answer back—he was too busy concentration to reply. He focused on drawing out the inner glimmering inside him. He could feel his wind of power blowing around the room. “….Fang Sword!” There was a sharp vibrating sound coming from Landon’s fang. He pulled the Sakaba-tou from the sheath and held it out in front of him. In a few dazzling sparks, the reverse-blade sword turned into the bokutou that was the Fang sword. “What in the—” “How did he do that!?” “This is the most interesting thing I’ve ever seen.” Professor Cosmo adjusted his glasses, “It totally defies the laws of science, yet I’m still witnessing it with my very own eyes.” May and Zeru were planted in their spots. They couldn’t tell if what they just saw was real or not. Sure, they’ve seen Landon occasionally tapped the surface powers of the Crystal Bell, but have never seen him do anything like this. “May….Zeru….” Landon started without turning to his friends, “I promise I’ll explain everything to you. But right now, I have to…defeat this monster!” He said it with great hesitation. He had promised Indigo back when he was seven that he would never tell another human being what he was. Now, the lives of others were riding on him revealing himself as an Origin Waker. “I am so sorry, Indigo. But I have to tell them.” He thought to himself, “If I don’t, they may not survive.
“Enough talk and staling! I want to get this over with sometime today.” Syorin got a tighter grip on the mallets and dashed forward at lightning speed. A visible white wind swirled around the hammers’ heads. “Raaaaa!” The dragon turned to Syorin without opening its eyes, letting out an all-mighty roar that shook Silver Castle’s walls. It’s snake tail rushed through the air heavily towards its attacker. “Hup!” In a shock of speed, Syorin kicked off the ground, allowing the massive tail to swing under him. “Bagon!” Bagon spat out a blast of fire at the giant beast. The Gorgon Dragon didn’t even wince as the flames merely fizzled out upon contact with its body. Instead, it poised its tail again and started swatting at Bagon and Syorin, forcing them to jump and dodge. “Okay—my turn, now!” Syorin rushed forward, holding his mallets behind him. His frown turned venomous and showed he was ready to put his all in this next attack. The swirl of wind around his weapons spiraled even faster and more violently. Syorin leapt into the air and bulleted downwards speedily. “Sukkiri-Bakudon Attack!” He brought the mallets down harshly on the dragon’s rough body. There was a quick explosion, followed by a puff of white smoke. “Ha—that should do it.” Syorin grinned in mid-air. When he landed, he turned around to his enemy, allowing his mallets to lay at his sides. The wispy smoke cleared—and the dragon seemed unharmed! “Grrr!” Syorin frowned, clenching his teeth. “RAAAAR!!” The dragon opened its mouth wide, allowing beads of energy to gather to it. With a quick flash of purple light, a beam of violet-colored power shot harshly. “Yah!” Syorin jumped back as it crashed into the ground, turning it into rubble. “Bagoooon!” Bagon opened its mouth and retaliated with a burst of flames. The red-hot fire spiraled through the air hotly, creating waves of heat around it. “Haa!” SPWWEE! In a quick second, the Gorgon Dragon opened its eyes, freezing both the attack and the Poke’mon. “Noo—Bagon!” Syorin’s eyes shrank a bit in fear as he stared at his stone Poke’mon. Then, he turned to the dragon with a look that—believe it or not—became even more deadly. “I’ll teach you!” He let his mallets fall to the ground and held out his the Clear Bell. He pointed it towards the dragon, clenching his teeth angrily. “Glass Rub-out!” The bell sparked and erupted with a snow-white blast of energy. And thought it barely grazed the dragon’s shoulder, it still staggered and howled in pain; it responded by spitting out yet another energy beam. It traveled along the ground, crumbling it up. Syorin jumped off to the side to avoid.

“Dahhaa!” Landon started to sweat—it was aiming right for him! He quickly scrambled across the floor, barley missing being hit. “It’s my turn, now.” He rolled along the ground and held up his Crystal Bell. If Syorin could use his bell as a weapon, so could he. “Okay, Crystal Bell, Fire!...........?” There were a few measly sparks that leapt from the bell, but nothing more. Everyone sweated anime style and Landon blushed a little. He didn’t understand—Syorin had made it look so easy. “Fine, I’ll try something else.” Landon raced across the stone ground, kicking up small pebbles behind him. He jumped into the air with the Fang Sword poised for attack. The dragon took in a deep breath and blew out a gust of wind. “Whaaa!!” Landon flew back onto the ground harshly. “Mudkiiiip!!” Toya spat out a burst of water angrily. “RAAAA!!” The dragon flashed its crimson eyes open after dodging the jet-stream attack. “Ack!” Toya caught her breath while her body froze and stiffened to stone. “Huh/!” Landon felt a sharp coldness shoot through his body. He slowly got to his feet and gazed at his stone Poke’mon. His eyes trembled with emotion, then snapped into anger. He glared at the dragon with a look that was just as venomous as Syorin’s. A Crystal flame kindled in his sapphire eyes. “You monster!” A burst of wind swirled around the room. Just like Syorin’s weapon, the wind dyed itself Crystal and spiraled around the Fang Sword. “RAAAOOOR!” The dragon spat out a beam of purple energy. Landon jumped off to the side to avoid. One after another, the dragon shot repeatedly, but couldn’t match the young samurai’s speed. He swerved and ducked; jumped and spun. “Kiiiyaaa!” The dragon turned to see Syorin flying trough the air. It frowned and swung its tail through the air; Syorin winced as he was swatted back. “Syorin, try again—I’ll distract it!” Landon rushed forward again. The wind around his sword became more violent. “Grrr!” Gorgon Dragon opened its eyes and glared at him; Landon jumped back, allowing the ground to freeze up and harden. “Now!” Once again Syorin kicked into eh air and raised his mallets over his head. “Sukkiri-Bakudon attack!” “RAAAAA!!” KABOOOOM!

Landon saw a bright flash of white and red light, followed by a swirl of white smoke. Syorin landed on the ground harshly. He panted a bit and fell to one knee. “Raaaaa!” The Dragon howled in pain. On its cheek was a red mark that the attack had made. “Syorin!” Landon ran up to his rival. He may have been a creep, but he still was a fellow Origin Waker. “Are you okay—” “Leave e be, Himura!” Syorin stated harshly. Landon frowned and sweated anime style. “ROOOOOAARRR!!” Gorgon Dragon let out a roar that shook the ancient walls. Without warning, it snaked its body upwards towards the ceiling, plowing right through it. Pieces of the roof came tumbling down dangerously. From outside, all of Fallabor Town gave a shocked gasp. The dragon loomed over them just as dark as the blanket that covered the night sky. Mass pandemonium suddenly broke out in the streets; all of the people and Poke’mon scattered like insects. Gorgon Dragon let out another loud, earth-shaking roar. It opened its eyes, glinting a red light from them. Anything the light reflected off of was turned to stone. Humans and Poke’mon alike transformed to statues with shocked expression. “The castle’s crumbling!” May exclaimed, finding the strength to get to her feet. “Let’s get out of here!” Zeru exclaimed. “I won’t leave my Poke’mon—not ever!” Landon grunted as he lifted the heavy statue that was Toya. Volbeat and Trapinch helped lift Torchic off the ground. Zeru, being strong as he was, picked up Charmander and Phanpy all by himself. Professor Cosmo helped by grabbing Treecko and Bayleef. Syorin didn’t need any help, for he carried Ivysaur and Bagon with no problem. With that, the group rushed away out of the room. Rocks and dust fell from above while they ran through the corridors. They raced across the spiraling paths with Syorin lagging behind. Landon wondered if he was okay, but remembered what he said and decided not to help.

They burst through the large front doors onto the steps overlooking the town. “What’s that?!” Zeru exclaimed, pointing at the sky. The others gasped at the entity that eclipsed the bright sky. “We’re nearly to late—the darkness is spreading.” Syorin growled, sweating as if he were in some sort of pain, “The farther that darkness spreads in the sky, the more the dragon will be allowed to travel. It has to be stopped now!” Landon nodded without taking his eyes off the dragon. He was ready to stamp it flat—especially after what it did to Toya. And as he watched it fossilize more and more, it caused his anger to rise. “Maybe if we beat that thing, the stone will disappear. Let’s go take it out.” Landon started to walk, but Syorin didn’t make a move. He glanced back at him, frowning, “Hey, Hibiki, this cant’ work if you won’t.” But Syorin just sat there on one knee, frowning right back. “What’s your problem—” “Take a look, you dolt!” Syorin pointed down to his right foot. “…Ah!” Landon’s eyes shrank in shock; Syorin’s foot was turned stone-gray. “No way—it got you!” May stated. Now Landon knew why he was lagging so much. “Hmph! As much as I’d hate to admit it, I can’t fight in this condition. Himura…you’re the only one who can stop that thing now. Only you can save this town and, potentially, the world. Just don’t screw it up.” And what choice did he have? It was his job to take on any force of darkness. Even though the possible weight of the world was just mounted on him in mere seconds, he had to remain strong and brave. He gripped the Fang Sword, causing his own fang to vibrate. “Lan, you tried to use a Bell ability earlier, but messed it up as usual.” Syorin said. “Oh…you saw that.” Landon blushed a little, sweating anime style. “Look, I’m gonna’ regret this, but I’ll tell you the secret on using it.” Syorin looked up at him, still frowning, “It’s simple, really; all you have to do is find an emoting to focus on. It can be anything; anger, love, sorrow, happiness—anything. But be warned—” He added sternly, “—this is the first time you’ll do it. The first emotion you use to unleash it must be the one you always turn to again and again. Also, the shape of your attack depends on the one you choose.” Landon nodded to show he understood. “Wow…that’s deep…” May blinked. “Aim for the dark light in the heart of the dragon, Himura.” “Dark light?” Zeru looked over to the dragon that was fossilizing the town. To him, it looked no different than it had earlier. “….but I don’t see a dark light—” “You can’t see it!” Syorin snapped at him. Landon focused his vision on the dragon’s heart area. Unlike Zeru, he could see a glimmering speck of purple light. “Hey—it’s that item Punisher had earlier!” He stated. “Yeah, it seems that it’s what keeps the dragon alive. I bet if you attack it, it will collapse.” Syorin told him. Landon nodded. “RAAA!” The Gorgon Dragon stepped out of the castle and onto the ground. Strangely, anything it stepped on, like a building or a tree, fazed through it’s body like a ghost. It traveled farther onto the street, turning anything it stared at to stone. It was now or never; the first match ever for Landon to really use the Fang Sword was finally upon him. “…I think I’m ready—” “There’s no thinking in it.” Zeru told him, “You have to be sure of yourself.” “We’ll be right behind you.” May stated. “Go to it, boy, and good luck.” Professor Cosmo flashed a thumbs-up. Landon nodded and raced down the steps. It was up to him and him alone to stop that beast. He just hoped he was powerful enough. After all, he had only begun to realize his own potential and abilities.

The Gorgon dragon stepped heavily in the streets, gazing fatally at the fleeing humans and Poke’mon. “I have to hurry!” Landon stated as he started onto the lantern-lit streets, “If I don’t, everything will be turned to stone. I just hope my plan works.” He rushed up quickly at his enemy, zooming by without it even noticing. Landon turned around and slid to a halt right in front of it. The dragon looked down at him with its eyes shut once more. “Huh? Why did it shut its eyes?” Landon thought to himself. “…you….are the one who radiates with the gift of Heaven….the one with the power of both worlds?” Landon nearly jumped; the dragon was communicating with its mind! “Stand aside, or face my wrath—this is your first and final warning.” It spoke. Landon placed his sword in his belt and clenched his fists. He wasn’t about to let it go anywhere. He would do it for his friends. But why stop there? He had to save the world and could even use Latias as his motivation. After all, she was one of the most important person in his life. “Sorry, but I can’t do that. Too many things I love are depending on me.” Landon held his hands parallel to the Crystal Bell. He would defeat this best or go down trying. In a blink of Crystal light, the outline of Landon’s winged symbol was still visible behind his bangs. “The emoting I choose is love.” At his voice, the Crystal Bell started to glow, vibrating with transparent waves of power. Landon’s eyes glowed a crystal color. He could feel the power of his new attack building from inside his soul. All around him, small blue spheres started to appear out of thin air. The young warrior reviewed what he was fighting for over and over again in his mind to further boost his power. “Bright Jewel Arrows!” The crystal spheres took on arrow-like shapes and bolted forward through the air hotly. “Huh!” The dragon frowned. There was a series of light thuds as each shot created a small hole in its body. They hit it all over….that is to say, all over except for the gleaming speck of light. “Crud!” Landon snapped his fingers. “That….sealed your doom!” The dragon thought-spoke. Without warning, the holes in its body started to close up slowly. It was only a matter of time before it had returned itself back to normal. “ROOAAAAAR!” It shook the area with its voice. “Grr!” Landon growled, turned around, and started running at top speed down the street. The dragon stamped its way in heavy pursuit. “I just hope my plan works.” He thought to himself. The Gorgon Dragon opened its eyes once again, freezing anything in its sight. Landon was careful to dodge its direct concentrated vision, often running in swerving paths. “I’ll blow you to pieces!” The dragon opened its mouth and started spitting out beams of energy. It burned stands, caused lanterns to explode, and froze anything else in its path. Landon gave it all he could to not get caught or even grazed by the attacks. One touch and it would be all over for him. “Bright Jewel Arrows!” Landon’s symbol lit up again and he turned with his hands back over his bell. It burst with a crystal light, launching a meteor of small energy beads. Just like before, they blasted holes through the dragon’s body. Unfortunately, just like before, it rejuvenated its body and kept on coming.

Landon growled and started running again. “Darn, I’m gonna’ have to try again.” The dragon’s rampage didn’t cease to end; it continued to launch its beam attack, destroying even more of the town. While running, Landon noticed that it was becoming harder to keep his speed up. “…..dah!” Suddenly, his vision blurred! He tripped just in time to be caught by the impact of a barely missed shot. “Whaaa!” He cried as he flew to the ground harshly. The Gorgon Dragon slammed its foot onto the ground, shaking it. “Arrrgh…what happened?” Landon opened his eyes slowly. His vision blurred back into focus through his contacts quickly and he sat up. He gazed up at the dragon to the speck of light glowing in its heart’s place. Frowning, he jumped back onto his feet. The dragon had its eyes closed again—it was toying with him! “Hey, why are you toying with me? If you think I’m a pushover, it’ll be your downfall. Let’s finish this with one more attack.” He suggested, feeling a little insulted. The dragon seemed silent for a moment. “….fine, then. But I assure you I’ll turn you to stone before you get far.” It thought-spoke. Landon closed his eyes—this was the final show-down. Anything he did from now on would forever change the world. He had to make it flawless, for failure could potentially mean the end of the world. Landon focused on building his inner power to its peak. “….huh,” With a slight exhale, his hair turned from its raven black to a crystal blue. A wind swirled all around him, causing his hair to sway. “RAAA!” The dragon opened its eyes, firing a red beam of light. “BARRIER!” Landon shouted. From his Crystal Bell, a light blue energy outlined his body; the beams of light bounced off him without harming him. “RA!?” The dragon took a shocked step back. Landon rushed forward with one hand on his sword. There was no turning back now. He had to make this next move perfect. “I WILL NOT LOSE!” “OH-YES-YOU-WILL!!” The dragon let a large beam of purple energy fly form its mouth. It traveled dangerously across the street towards the boy, ready to turn him to dust. Landon took one more hard step before launching himself into the air—directly at the attack! “This is it. I’m putting it all on the line now!” He reached for the Fang Sword with his other hand. His own fang vibrated lightly and but made a whistling sound. “BATTOU-NO-TENCHUU!” He drew his bokutou and thrust it forward. The sword radiated with Landon’s Crystal aura violently. He quickly closed the gap between him and his enemy’s attack. “The end is now!” “You’ve got that right!” SPWEEEERR!!

It was so incredible! Landon forced the Fang Sword right thorough the beam of energy. Spurts of power burst off to the sides of him wildly. The power was so intense that Landon’s symbol forced his headband into pieces and his bangs to the side. “NO! This isn’t possible!!!” The dragon exclaimed. “Hiyaaa!” Landon swung and forced the beam away, yet he still continued to fly forward. He kept his eyes focused on the main point he was trying to attack. The glimmer of the blackish-purple light remained visible in the dragon’s body. “KYAAA!” He thrust his glowing sword through the wispy purple dragon. The tip connected with the light; for some strange reason, it started to shimmer even brighter. The Fang Sword vibrated from the stress of power, making it difficult for Landon to even hold it. There was a cracking sound and the speck of light shattered like glass. “…yeah…” Landon smiled weakly. He won—he was the victor—and saved the planet. “NOOOOOO!!” The dragon shrieked loudly. Its body erupted in a blast of crystal light. Glimmering specks flowed from it, dispelling the remainder of its dark form. Landon landed on the ground shakily, but was strong enough to keep on his feet. The crystal light jumped upwards into the sky and pierced the heavy darkness above. As if it were afraid, the darkness scurried away from the sky. The crystal light bounced around above, then rained all over the town. May, Zeru, and Professor Cosmo watched in amazement at the splendor before them. “….heh,” Syorin grinned and closed his eyes, “That idiot actually did it.” As the rain of crystal light touched down, it turned anything it touched back to normal. Fires were put out, rubbled streets were converted back to the way they were, but most importantly, the stone citizens were freed. Zeru watched as a single drip landed on Treecko, shattering its stone form. “…Treecko-Treecko!” It jumped into his arms. “Treecko’s back!” “Torchic!” “And Torchic, too!” May and Zeru smiled to each other as the Poke’mon were changed back to normal. Finally, the moon was the last to change from its evil red to its beautiful pearly white. With everything back to normal, the people all looked up in shock and awe. “….huh…huh…” Landon panted as he walked up the hill steps towards Silver Castle. His vision blurred in and out and his body was starting to feel numb. He managed to make it to the top of the steps and looked to his friends. “Mudkiiip!” “Bay-eee!” “Traa!” “Vol!” Toya, Bayleef, Trapinch, and Volbeat rushed towards their trainer. They all gave him a big hug, nearly knocking him over. Zeru grinned at him, flashing a thumbs-up. “…so…you did it.” “…yeah…” Landon flashed a thumbs-up back to their smiling faces (except for Syorin). In almost a quick second, he let out a final sigh and let his body drop limply. He hit the ground in a weak faint. “Mudkip! Mudkip!” Toya tried to shake him awake. “Landon!”

“Landon? I-is that you?” “…what happened to him? Are you sure that’s him?” “Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s him.” “I have his contact lenses so he doesn’t get them dirty.” May’s and Zeru’s voices echoed in Landon’s ears. He felt his body laying on the cold ground. He could hear other sounds—the faint sounds of music and chattering from somewhere far off. His body didn’t feel numb anymore, but it did feel different. Landon opened his eyes slowly. His vision waned for a second, but blurred back to normal. He didn’t have to feel them to tell his contact lenses were out. But, strangely, he could see perfectly well. The first thing he saw was Toya, who looked at him strangely. “Landon, are you okay?” May knelt down to him. For some strange reason, she seemed different. “Yeah…you look…different.” Zeru said. “Yeah, I feel—!” Landon stopped—something was wrong! His voice sounded a little lighter. “What’s wrong with me?!” He sat up abruptly and looked at his hands. They were smaller like a little child’s. “Here, Lan, take a look in my mirror.” May reached into her bag and pulled out her compact mirror. When she flipped it open, Landon jumped, sweating. He was a mini version of himself—about two feet and nine inches! He was wearing a long, black, sleeveless Japanese shirt with gold embroidery around the collar. His pants were with and he had no shoes. The funny thing was that he had a furry black tail like a fox and clear pixie-like wings. “Wha-what in the heck am I?!” Landon exclaimed. “Hahaha! Just as I thought—you are that weak!” Syorin burst with laughter. “Hey, that’s uncalled for!” May growled. “Oh, relax; there’s nothing wrong with Himura. He just used up too much energy. As an Origin Waker, this is how he recovers energy. He is now in chibi form—Chibi Himura!” Syorin slung his bag over his shoulder, “Though…I can’t explain the wings and tail. Unfortunate for me, it’s only temporary.” “Whew!” Landon let out a relieved sigh. “I can’t spend my night staying with you losers, though. I have things to do. C’mon guys,” Syorin turned and walked away with Bagon following. Ivysaur hugged Bayleef around the neck before scampering off after its trainer. They watched Syorin walked down the steps into the distance. “May, this stinks.” Landon folded his arms and sat with his legs folded. He flapped his wings and hovered into the air, showing his attitude. “I dunno’—you look like a cute little kid.” “Mud-mudkip!” May said and Toya agreed entirely. “This isn’t funny!” Landon shot. “Nice tail,” “Yeeowch!” Zeru pulled on his tail and Landon flew higher into the air. He frowned, folding his arms. “Eh…..today has been a weird day.” Professor Cosmo started walking away, “I think I’ll go now.” “Hmmm….” Landon sighed, “Don’t be like that, Lan. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the new year. And by the way.” May looked up to him, “You have some explaining to do.” Oh, yeah; he had forgotten about that. Landon let out a sigh and began talking. (Tonight, we have seen a whole new heroic side to Landon….as well as a whole new him all together. What will today’s events have in common with the future?
