The moon shone brightly down onto the beautiful sea. Millions upon millions of tiny stars were painted into the canvas that was the night sky. Their light merged  with the glowing white orb above to make the darkness more beautiful. A light breeze blew sparkling purple clouds across the air slowly. The sea swayed slowly and silently. The small waves it produced crashed so light, they could barely be heard at all. Amidst the sea, a vast island made its presence known by being the only and biggest island around. It was kind of strange; a mix between five different kinds of terrains. Part of the island was a lush forest; flowers of several varieties glimmered brightly from the grass. The treetops thrived with both sleeping and nocturnal bug and bird Poke’mon. Parallel to the beautiful forest lay an area of fewer trees, but made up for it with a sparkling lake reflecting the moonlight. There was a gentle swaying from underneath as a school of fish Poke’mon went for a late-night swim. Large, rocky red mountains were embellished next to lush and vast plains. At the northern edge of the island, a very large port led to a very bright and busy city. Unlike the other areas, it was the busiest part of the island. A rainbow of lights lit up the buildings and added to its splendor. The paths were a bright yellow, free of any driving cars. Instead, the people and their Poke’mon walked or biked. High above the island, the night sky was decorated with thin, rugged purple streaks like minute claw marks. They caused the canvas above to look even more majestic and mysterious. Suddenly, there was a very loud clicking sound. In succession, a duo of grand spotlights shot through the trees. One by one, more spotlights lit up from various points of the island. At once, they all fell on the white-dyed steel structure of a fortress. It was positively the most titanic building on the entire island. It was constructed to look something like a medieval castle, though it had a large kiosk driving up the middle. Instead of a drawbridge, there were two very large metallic doors at the front. There were a few visible windows and a large light at the peak. With another loud clicking noise, that light flashed on.
Deep inside and through the many corridors of the fortress, the sound of a single voice could be heard from behind a particular door. Upon it, the word “Lecture” was marked in valiant gold lettering. Beyond the closed-off threshold, a vast college lecture hall was filled with silence. Every seat was filled with a different person, all of which were wearing the same white lab coats. Each were clutching a clipboard and a pen. The lighting in the audience was dim enough to see, but the lighting on the stage before them was brilliant. Just then, the silence was shattered by calm stepping sounds. At once, the audience directed their attention to the stage in a single stroke. The light shone off a man’s nearly-bald head as he stepped onto the illuminated are. He was wearing a white suit and, believe it or not, a black cape to match his shoes. What little hair he had left was white and his eyes were a glinting purple. The man came to a stop in the center of the stage and looked out to the audience. Everyone was ready with their writing utensils poised. “Ahem! Students, piers, and staff; you have all been specially chosen to witness and partake in today’s research. In this world, we as members of Team Subject, have strived to out-do all other organizations. We shall achieve this goal only by gaining control of more power.” The old man’s voice echoed against the walls of the lecture hall. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a very thin, cylindrical, glass tube. Inside was a tiny black seed glowing with the sparking purple aura. From above, a mechanical sound went off as a flat-screen monitor was lowered behind the man. It flashed on to reveal an image of the seed-like item surrounded by different charts and graphs. “A week ago, I had finished perfecting an invention that will revolutionize Team Subject. Behold, the Darkness Seed.” The man stated. All at once, the audience started to run their pens across their clipboards. The man pointed to the screen, which flashed with a scroll menu. “This item is a seed that can control every inch of any level Poke’mon. Just imagine bending the wills of the strongest of Poke’mon—even legendary ones. The Dark Seed isn’t actually a plant; as a matter of fact, it has nothing to do with vegetation. It is constructed by a substance known as somber-ore; a darkness energy that has taken a physical, moldable form. The term ‘seed’ was given to it by what it does. The item goes into a host’s body; it slowly travels until it reaches the heart. Once it’s there, it bonds with the host, continuously feeding off the darkness inside it and from the environment. In time, the dark seed will grow and take form as the Somber Blossom. Once it reaches that state, it is impossible to remove and the host becomes a most powerful and loyal servant.” From the audience, a lab-coated woman with glasses raised her hand. The man on stage acknowledged her that she could take the floor. “Excuse me, Dr. Niotra,” She spoke with a slight British accent, “Could you please demonstrate the capabilities of this ‘Dark Seed’ for the audience? I’m sure we’re all eager to see it first hand.” There was a chain reaction of murmurs from the eager audience. Dr. Niotra nodded and reached to his belt, pulling a miniscule red and white ball with a button in the middle. He pressed the button, allowing it to become palm-sized, and threw it into the air. “Rattata, I choose you!” The Poke’ball burst open in a flash of light that shot to the ground to take form. The Poke’mon was a small rat-like creature with large, but pearly front teeth. Its fur was dominantly purple except for on its face, belly, and paws. Its eyes were red and its tail curled at the end. “Ratataaa!” The Poke’mon smiled and scratched its ear. It really had a rather innocent air to it—it even looked to the audience with big innocent eyes! “Observe carefully as the Dark Seed goes to work.” Dr. Niotra glanced down from the audience to his Poke’mon, “Hold still, Ratata.” He used his thumb to pop off the glass container’s top. Sensing the fresh air, the glimmering black seed floated up from its prison all on its own. It didn’t take it long to locate Ratata and shoot into its ear like lightning. “Ta!” Ratata jumped slightly, scratching its ear with its foot. The audience of observers took notes on every single aspect thus so far. They were careful to not let the slightest detail go unnoticed. Silence filled the room for a short while. “….TA?!” Suddenly, Ratata perked up in a quick, stiff jolt. Its eyes flickered from their friendly red to a fiendish crimson. Its smile faded into a glare and its body radiated with a wispy, crackling purple and black aura. “RATATAAAA!!!” Without warning, Ratata lashed towards the audience with teeth poised for attack. “OHA!” The audience held their breath as it sped across the stage. Even though it was small, its dagger-like teeth were still very dangerous. And if the Dark Seed really did boost its host’s power, then the attack Poke’mon was about as dangerous as a mad-man armed with swords. “TA!” Ratata hissed as it jumped into the air. A few spectators screamed and dashed from their seats to the door, allowing their clip boards and pencils to clatter onto the floor. “Stop, Ratata,” Dr. Niotra spoke calmly. Ratata’s ears twitched; it landed on the edge of the stage obediently, yet it still retained its deadly expression. The observers who were still in their seat nodded and took notes. “See; I can manipulate this puppet in any way I choose. And when I say any way, I mean any and every way.” Dr. Niotra held his hand over Ratata and closed his eyes. He mumbled something from his thoughts, but it was too low to hear. Ratata looked as if it wanted to attack again, but didn’t dare make a move. SHWAAA! Ratata’s body started to glow with a bright white light. Its shape wiggled and grew, changing all together. When the light faded, another Poke’mon had taken its place; Ratata’s form was now more hamster-like with long whiskers. Its fur was light brown and its front side was white. Unlike its previous form, this Poke’mon stood on its hind feet and its tail was bald. It eyes, however, still remained red. “Raticaaaate!” “Ohaaa!” The audience gasped in awe. At once, they started driving their pens and pencils across their papers. “See? All the controller had to do is will it and they may even control a Poke’mon’s  evolution.” Dr. Niotra spoke, “This seed—the Dark Seed—is such a powerful item, it can control even humans! This, my colleagues, will be the beginning of Team Subject’s greatest accomplishment ever. We will be able to rule the world!” With that, Dr. Niotra broke into a fit of evil laughter. The scientists in the audience all clapped his praises in unison (it was a wonder why they didn’t take note of that as well). What could this strange syndicate be plotting….?

             Two Months Later….

WHOOOOOM!! A boat horn shook the morning sky heavily. The bright sunlight beat down on top of the sparkling ocean water. Fish Poke’mon of all kind continuously broke the surface in a few wild jumps. A fresh ocean breeze blew on the water, creating small waves. Small puffs of smoke drifted into the air from the smokestacks of a passing boat. The pearly steel cruise ship floated across the water effortlessly and elegantly. The ship was as long as a football field and so clean that the steel sparkled. The beautiful windows were so well-kept that they could be seen through even from a distance. Tons of people walked along the top deck and mid deck with their Poke’mon. Some sat in lounge chairs, soaking up the sun. Others chatted lively or played games with each other. Landon stood on the pool deck, gazing up at the nearly cloudless sky. Landon Himura was an eleven year-old boy as well as the star of “Poke’mon X”. He had long raven hair that had to be put in a pony tail in the back, and two smaller ones at the sides. His eyes were a dazzling sapphire that visualized his gentle and kind personality. He was wearing a white, very light sleeveless jacket over his black sleeveless shirt. The jacket had two belt buckles going down the sides and black embroidery on the borders of the arm holes. His shorts were black with white suspenders hanging limply at the side. He wore a pair of orange and blue shoes and a white and black cap backwards on his head. At the kid’s belt, plain and visible, was a sword in a black sheath. On top of his shoulder, sleeping, was Landon’s very first Poke’mon. Toya was a small quadruped blue-colored Poke’mon with a white underbody. She had a big blue fin on her head and a big white tailfin. The fins on her cheeks were as orange as the horizon. Sitting on a couple of lounge chairs by the pool were Landon’s two best friends and traveling companions. Zeru was the brown-haired boy with the sunglasses hiding his brown eyes. He wore a green sleeveless shirt over his thin black long-sleeved shirt, khaki shorts, and black shoes. Zeru bumped his head to the beat of his earphones as he lounged on the chair with his hands on the back of his head. On his stomach, a small Poke’mon bobbed her head to some music of her own. Phanpy resembled a small light-blue elephant. Her big ears had two red rings at the end and a red stripe on her nose. As a personalized touch, Zeru had put a yellow ribbon at the base of her ears. Phanpy wagged her short little tail to her earphones’ beat. May kept her mahogany hair in two pigtails, which just happen to be the same color as her eyes. She wore a blue shirt, white pants that went to her ankles, and red shoes. On her head was a blue scarf marked with a white Poke’ball and she wore white gloves with blue at the base.(NARRATOR: The sun is bright, the weather’s warm, and the ocean is calm. The day is simply perfect for a grand adventure. As usual, Landon strives to fulfill his goals as a strong Poke’mon trainer. But even heroes can take a little down-time once in a while….but where exactly are they headed to, anyway?)
Landon let out a yawn and rubbed the tear water from his eyes. He gazed around at all of the different People and Poke’mon airily. “This is…so boring. I thought a ride on a luxury cruise-liner would be exciting, but I guess I wasted my money.” He rubbed the back of his head. “Oh, Lan, it’s not that boring. We’re almost there.”  May stated without looking up from her sketchbook. “Hey, where is ‘there’ anyway?” Zeru lifted his sunglasses and earphones. “How many times do I have to tell you?” May rubbed out a mistake in her drawing with an orange eraser. The salt-water breeze carried up to their deck level lightly. “We’re taking a vacation to Northside Island. It’s about time we took some time off.” “What’s so special about this island, May?” Zeru asked her. “Well, for starters—” May stopped abruptly as Landon walked right by her. He let out another yawn and wiped more tear water from his eyes. If May kept it up like that, she was certain to lull him to sleep. “Hey, just wait a minute; where are you going?” May finally looked up from her sketchbook. “I’m sorry, May, but I think I’d rather find out when we get there. In the meantime, I think I’ll explore this ship.” Landon answered her. There was a bursting sound followed by a flash of light coming from May’s hip pack on the floor—one of the poke’balls inside had opened. The Poke’mon that came out was a small, highly light tan kitten. The tips of her paws and tail were black as well as her ears. Her eyes glimmered yellow and there was a gold bell around her neck.  “Phea-phea!” Phealine jumped. “Fine, go; I’m not stopping you.” May folded her arms, pouting. Phealine jumped onto Landon’s shoulders. He nodded to her, starting down the steps to the mid deck. He let his hand run along the railing of the cruise boat. The people around him chatted lively. But since most of them were big business people, most of the conversations were about money. Some people dressed their Poke’mon in fancy tuxes or nice jewelry—just about anything to make them look flashy. If only one of them would like to have Poke’mon battle, it would be worth staying on that floating bathtub. “Forget it, Landon. They’re all probably too delicate to fight, anyway.” Landon thought to himself. The ship slid across the wave calmly and easily. Landon looked out to the sparkling ocean before him. If anything was worth being stuck on a boat, it was the great view. Landon walked to the edge of the railing to get a closer look. “….Mudkip…” Toya stirred atop his head. She opened her mahogany eyes slowly with a squeaky yawn. When she saw the view of the ocean, she marveled at its splendor just like her trainer. Being a water Poke’mon, she was easily fascinated by bodies of H2o. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it, girls?” Landon asked and the Poke’mon nodded. “Kip!” “Phealine!” Another weak salty breeze blew against his hair slightly.
“…..Huh?!”Landon’s attention suddenly became aware. At first, he thought he was seeing things and had to rub his eyes (carefully to avoid knocking out the contact lenses). Something fast was skating across the water tops. As it passed by, he received a closer look. The canine Poke’mon was as elegant as the water itself; its body fur shone a pure blue as blue as the sky, carefully decorated with snow-white diamond-shaped spots. Its tail resembled two thin wisps of white wind, reigning the same color as its face and underside. The diamond-shaped jewel on its head glittered just like a polished crystal. Behind it, a purple mane of hair swayed gracefully from its head. The Poke’mon’s paws barely tapped the surface of the sparkling ocean as it traveled across. Before it left out of sight, it glanced at Landon with its crimson eyes. “Ohaaaa…” Landon gasped, “It’s a Suicune! All the way out here!” Well, at least he got one good thing out of the boat ride. But then….what was Suicune doing on the ocean anyway? Being a legendary Poke’mon, it normally stayed away from human eyes. “If anything, that was a rare treat indeed.” Landon smiled.
SCHZZZZZ!! “Ahem….is this thing on?....it is?” A voice echoed out of the ships communication speakers. Everyone aboard turned towards the captain’s window on the highest deck. They had all stopped what they were doing to listen to the announcement. Zeru and Phanpy took their earphones off. They were nowhere near land, so it could’ve been possible that the captain had something urgent to say. Landon tried to look into the control room window, but the sun’s glare obscured his view. “Okay….Attention, everyone on board. This ship is now the property of the Tsunami Bandits!” “Awh!” The passengers on the ship let out a gasp of shock and horror. “Bandits?!” Landon got on a shocked guard.
There were a few splashing sounds and stray drops of water flying through the air. Soon afterwards, a group of figures climbed over the side of the boat and onto the deck. They were all dressed in white shirts and blue pants underneath their brown mini cloaks. On their heads were black scarves marked with wave symbols. The rustling of fabric sounded; some of their passengers tossed off their rich clothes to reveal their bandit uniforms. “Dah!” The real passengers jumped. Having bandits so close to them made their hearts skip a beat. Landon gazed into the captain’s window to see a peon in the same bandit uniform. “Please hand over all of your valuables to the uniformed personnel before you peacefully and it may be possible that no one will get hurt. And don’t try anything funny like jumping off the boat. Not only is that dumb, but take a look behind your precious cruise ship.” The man in the window pointed to the back direction. In the distance, a wooded ship sailed towards the cruise ship across the sparkling sea. They were seriously trying to imitate olden-day pirates! “So just cooperate and make it easy. This is your temporary captain till we get to Northside port.” With a loud click, the speakers turned off. “Okay, give us everything you’ve got—I’m talking jewels, Poke’mon; the whole nine yards.” One of the peons said to a man in a black suit. “Don’t try anything funny, toots.” Another spoke to a lady rudely. The passengers reluctantly started relinquishing their valuables to the thieves. Zeru took off his sunglasses and earphones, standing up abruptly. Phanpy did the same and climbed onto his shoulder. May frowned, but stayed in her seat. Neither one of them had any plans to cooperate anyway. “You too, kid—hand me your valuables.” A peon stated to Landon. The young samurai frowned, but didn’t make a move. Instead, he stated, “I have a better idea. Why don’t we have a battle? I’m pretty sure top-rank bandits such as yourselves will have no problem dealing with a little kid. And to make it interesting,” He pointed to the passengers behind him, “If I lose, you get to rob everyone on this ship and I won’t stop you. But if I win,” Landon pointed to himself, “If I win, then you and the rest of the Tsunami bandits have to leave, deal?” There was a chain reaction of gasps from the passengers on board. The nerve of Landon to go up there and put everyone on the line like that! What if he lost?.....but then, would it have made much of a difference if he kept his mouth shut? “Heh-heh, I agree to your terms, Lad.” The door of the captain’s room opened right after a voice spoke. The leader walked down the deck’s steps calmly. A competitive grin spread across his face. “They call me Kuda Barra. What’s your acquaintance, lad?” “Koryushima Himura, but you can call me Landon.” Landon told the man simply. Kuda came to a stop across from him, “I like the way you think, Landon. You’re willing to put so much on a single victory—that’s guts. But it ain’t guts alone. There’s also a hint of foolishness in the mix as well.” “I’ll be the judge of that.” Landon told him. He reached to his one of his suspender straps and pulled a poke’ball marked with a gray star sticker. Kuda pulled a poke’ball from his belt also. ([sound of record scratching] okay, not to interrupt the move, but there will be major confusion if this isn’t explained. There are two columns below: the left column are the lyrics and the column on the right are the actions during the music. The actions are written so that they are close to the real timing of the music. In other words, a verse could still be going for an action that is five lines down, or that an action may be quicker than it is described. Thank you, and sorry to interrupt.” [record scratches once more, returning the normal audio.])

It's too early to quit; hop-scotch to Part 2!!
