Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon, no matter how much i want to, and all credit for them goes to Nintendo and Gamefreak. My characters, including Sansou, are my creation, but i do not have a copyright on them. Still, i should hope you don't use them unless you want to make fanfics about my fanfic. Phew. Glad that's over. Now on to the story! Chapter 1: The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With the First Pokemon! Sweat trickeled down and soaked the shaggy brown hair that was pushed over his red bandana. His palms moistened the black fingerless gloves on his fingers, and dripped around the strap on his Pokegear. He wore a gray muscle shirt, and a red hawiian overshirt on top of that. His feet bore a pair of red running shoes, and his legs were covered by his tan slacks. Sansou looked at his Eevee, his greatest friend since he could remember. The brown fox-like pokemon was exahsted, and had cuts and brusies all over, but was still standing. Sansou was estatic that was okay, but his opponent's Pikachu, owned by Ash Ketchum, had barely taken any damage. Sansou knew he couldn't lose this match, but his opponent was far too powerful. ~how did I get into this anyway?~ he wondered, watching Eevee's labored breaths... ******************* "Aw! C'mon Dad! All the other kids left 4 years ago!" Sansou whined to his father, Bill Hiroto the Pokemaniac' of the Cerulean Cape "I think Eevee and I could handle anything!" "Vee!" his Pokemon added, hoping to sway the decision. "Absolutley not!" Bill repeated for possibly the 100th time "You will not be engaging in those frivolous activities that most kids do! It's too dangerous!" "But DAAAAAaaaaad!" Sansou complained "Eevee and I have helped you round up Pokemon you needed on several occasions! We proved we can battle other Pokemon!" Bill sighed "You still forget that Trainers are far more powerful than wild Pokemon! Besides, Team Rocket is out there, and I don't want you to do anything to make them target you." he paused to give a look of 'you know you would, don't deny it'. "Dad, don't make me use Eevee's new attack on you" Sansou threatened. "You wouldn't dare" "Eevee, Charm!" Sansou ordered. The fox widdened its eyes and trembled its lip. The infamous puppy 'pity me!' look. "Nice try Son" Bill said, turning back to his work, unaffected "That move only works on gullible girls and Pokemon" Sansou decided not to mention that Charm being used on his mom was how he got Eevee in the first place, but continued to beg. "Sorry to interuppt your pleading" came a female voice from the doorway "but I may have the solution to your problem." The bickering father and son turned to see Daisy Oak, or now, Daisy Hiroto and Sansou's mother, standing in the doorway. "My brother is currently working with a former rival of his called Ash Ketchum, the current champion of the Pokemon League. He and my brother were planning on checking out the area up here anyway, so how about if Sansou can win a one-on-one match against the Champion, he can go on this journey he wants to take." She looked at he husband "is that okay with you?" she asked. Bill nodded "You may as well tell Sansou to teach a Magikarp a TM. I know that young trainer, and he'll beat Eevee in one attack. His weakest move probably." "We can take his best hit, can't we Eevee?" Sansou grinned. "Eevee, vee!" his pokemon agreed, leaping out of his hands and onto his head. ***************** Sansou almost laughed in spite of this. He had been right. Eevee had miraculaously withstood a Volt Tackle from Pikachu, though it had only been by the skin of it's teeth. Sansou knew all of his Pokemon's attacks had been useless, as Pikachu had countered all of Eevee's Physical Attacks with no problem. Not to mention, his Eevee had no attacks of any other element besides normal. "C'mon Eevee!" Sansou cheered "You can do it!" Eevee said nothing but responded by beginning to glow with a white light. "Impossible!" shouted an astounded Bill from the sidelines "It's evolving!" "Not true" said Gary, Daisy's brother and famous Pokemon expert "My Umbreon evolved because it had a strong bond with me. Eevee must have a strong bond with Sansou to be evolving." "But doesn't Eevee only become Umbreon at night?" asked Ash from his position on the battlefield. Gary nodded "But in the daytime, Eevee become-" "Espeon!" The newly evolved sunlight Pokemon finished. Espeon was taller and sleeker than its unevolved form. It had pink fur, and a long tail that parted slightly at the tip. It had bright blue eyes, and a circular ruby in its forehead. Sansou guessed it was psychic-type, and decided to use the one Psychic move it might know: "Espeon, Confusion!" Instantly, the ruby on its forehead glowed as it released a blast of psychic energy at Pikachu. The electric mouse, too stunned by the evolution to move, took the full force of the attack. The rodent stumbled back and fell over. "Pika..." it groaned. "I believe it's over. Espeon wins, and Sansou may start his journey" Gary announced. Sansou let out a wide grin "any objections Dad?" His father went inside and was silent for the rest of the night. ************************** "Why did you hold back?" "Hold back?" Ash asked, trying to sound confused and failing badly. "You held back in our match today" Sansou accused "I can tell. Pikachu has beaten a slew of ground pokemon using electric attacks. You faked your loss." Ash combed through his messy black hair "I knew you wouldn't be fooled" he grinned "That proves my theory true even more." he turned to the young trainer "I believe you have a great potential in you. Come with me." Sansou shrugged, and Espeon jumped on Sansou's shoulder. "Espeon, you've become much heavier after evolution" he joked. Espeon glared at him, and Sansou hurried after Ash with the psy Pokemon on his shoulder. **************************** Hurrah! My first chapter is done!
