Hey, this is the Black Glove here. Sorry the last chapter was a bit short. I just wanted to recive some reviews and ideas before I update. Or in other words, keep sending those comments/critisim. Any flames will be met with me mallet. Any questions? Send them my way too! Now where was I? Oh yeah! The story! **************** Last time on: "We Can Take It!" Sansou Hiroto, our new protaginist, finally found a way to get his dad to allow him to go on a Pokemon Journey: Beating Ash Ketchum, Pokemon League Champion, in a one-on-one battle! During the match, Sansou's Eevee evolved into Espeon after all of Sansou's hard work over the years. In it's new form, Espeon was able to beat Ash's Pikachu, but that night, when Sansou confronted Ash, the older trainer admitted to throwing the match. Why? Find out today on: "We Can Take It!" ***************** Sansou had finally caught up to Ash. The Trainer was at the beach, looking out at the waves. Ash smiled, almost not noticing Sansou walk over. "This is where I proposed to Mist..." he whispered to himself "I hope she's okay back at home..." "Excuse me? Mr. Ketchum?" Sansou asked. The League Champ laughed "Don't be so formal!" he grinned "Call me Ash." "Well,...um, Ash, I thought you were going to tell me exactly why you let me win." Ash turned to him, a serious look on his face "When I was about 6 years old, I had a dream. The dream to be the greatest trainer in the world. I constantly tried to find ways to get my mom to let me be a trainer. Of course, I was too young, so it didn't work..." his eyes went misty as he remembered "Then came my eleventh birthday. The day I was finally allowed to travel. I woke up late that day, and was the 4th trainer to leave Pallet Town. The normal 3 starters, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, had already been taken. So, Gary's Grandfather, who was the Prof. at the time, gave me a Pikachu who was incredibly difficult." Ash winced "I can remember the very first thundershock I ever recieved from it..." Sansou was listening, but impaitiently tapping his foot. "Espeon!" The Sun Pokemon on his shoulder cried, probably meaning something along the lines of: "GET ON WITH IT!" "...point is, I had a dream..." Ash continued "and to see another person be denied a chance to have their dream fullfilled is far too cruel." He gave Sansou a thumbs up and a smile "But don't think I'll hold back at my Gym!" Sansou returned the grin "You won't need to for me to win! I can take anything you can dish out!" "We'll see about that." ******************** "Alright then. Sansou, if you have everything, you can ride on Charizard's back. I've got Pidgeot and Gary has his Fearow, so-" "Um, Ash?" Sansou asked. "Yes Sansou?" the elder trainer answered. "I don't think it likes me..." "Don't worry. Charizard is completely tame..." Gary suddenly had a coughing fit. The orange dragon snorted smoke from its nostrils in agreement as if to say "I'm not an airline." Ash sighed "Fine Charizard. Pidgeot can carry the passenger, so it can beat us home with less weight." Charizard immedeatly changed its mind. It had come second in speed to a Pidgeot before, and it was terrible. Thankfully it had Sceismic Tossed the blasted bird into the ground. Served it right for making a fool of him. He would show that bird. "Sansou" Daisy said, her voice full of both pride and worry "Be careful. I don't want Team Rocket to get you." She bent over him and wrapped her arms around him "and don't forget to change your you-know-what!" she whispered, squeezing him tightly. "Mom..." he whispered, returning the embrace "I'll always be safe. I promise not to worry you...too much." They finally let go of each other, stepping back. Bill stepped forward, a black rectangular bag in his hand. "Son" he said sternly "I want you to use this to keep a journal of everything that happens to you. Go on. It's not that marvelous." Sansou opened the bag, which upon further inspection, was a carrying case for it's contents. Within was a beautiful black labtop, one of the most updated his dad had ever created. "It has around the globe internet acess, email, a place for keeping a journal, and most importantly, my new storage system to keep all of your Pokemon with you at once." Bill said proudly "The only thing it doesn't have is a Pokedex, but when you get one, you can plug it in and get extra data on any Pokemon you've caught." "It's been in devlopment for several years now, and I think we finally know who to entrust the first one to" Gary added. Sansou grabbed both of them in an almost crippling bear hug "Oh, thank you so much!" he blurted out "This is gonna be the best journey ever!" "Calm down so we can get going!" Gary moaned, forcing the bear hug open. "Goodbye Mom! Goodbye Dad!" Sansou waved from atop Charizard's back. "Goodbye Son!" Bill waved back. "Don't forget to-" his mom started. "I know!" Sansou called, as the massive flame-tailed dragon took off. "He never was very good at remembering that..." Bill commented to his wife, watching their son dissapear over the horizon. *********************** "Normally, I give trainers the choice between 3 Pokemon" Gary said, walking along the isle of Pokeballs. "Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. However, in your case, you already have your first Pokemon, and an evolved one at that, so that would be unessacary." "I wish it wasn't..." Sansou sighed, looking at the balls containing the trio. "However, I can supply you with the nessacary equipment to start training" Gary continued "A Pokedex, and 5 Pokeballs are in order I believe." He handed Sansou a small red machine, about the size of a calculator, and 5 red and white spheres known as Pokeballs." "As you probably know, Pokeballs are used to catch pokemon by pressing the button and throwing the ball at the Pokemon" Gary explained "and the Pokedex is a handheld, electronic encyclopedia that records data on any Pokemon that you've seen or caught. It happens to be a trainer's most valuble asset next to his Pokemon." "Wow. This stuff is complex" Sansou realized. "This trainer thing could be harder than I thought..." "I'm sure you'll get it sooner or later..." Ash sighed. Everyone turned towards the window, where a large grass Pokemon was rapping on the pane. "Hey Venusaur!" Ash greeted, but his smile turned to worry when he saw the panicked look on its face. "What's wrong?" the Pokemon Master asked. Venusaur turned and ran. "Quick! Let's go!" Ash shouted, picking up Pikachu from it's napping place. "Hold on!" Gary said "how about we let Sansou handle this. After all, this kind of conflict can happen often between Pokemon, so he needs to learn how to deal with it." "You're right, but I'm going in case things don't work out." Ash said, rushing after Venusaur. Sansou ran with Espeon right at his heels after Ash. ************************** "So THAT's the problem..." Ash thought. A wild poliwag had entered the fire Pokemon area, causing them all to run in fear. "All we need to do is get it out of here..." "I'll catch it and take it with me!" Sansou declared "Then I'll have two Pokemon instead of one!" "Good luck" Ash said, as Espeon and Sansou stepped forward. "Poliwag!" Sansou called to the tadpole Pokemon "I challenge you to a battle!" The Pokemon nodded and fired a stream of bubbles out from its mouth. "Bubble attack" Ash stated, almost bored. "Espeon, use quick attack!" Sansou countered. His Psychic-type gave a burst of speed and avoided the bubbles, ramming itself into its foe. "Confusion attack now!" Espeon's ruby began to glow as the massive surge of energy threw Poliwag back, stunning it. "Sansou, here!" Ash yelled, throwing a ball to Sansou" Throw the Pokeball at it!" Ash called. "Pokeball go!" Sansou yelled, tossing the sphere at Poliwag. It dissapeared into the ball in a flash of red light. The ball wobbled once...twice...then exploded into several shards, releasing the wild Pokemon within. Ash shrugged "it must be stronger than it looks" he suggested. He turned back to his Venusaur, who was oddly shuddering at the sight of the smaller pokemon. That was when Ash realized it must have some sort of strange attack.... Poliwag, having been angered by the attempted capture once again fired off a bubble attack, spreding the bubbles aound like mines to prevent its foe from getting close. Poliwag grinned. (This Poliwag is really smart!) Sansou thought (This just means I've gotta catch it even more!) "Espeon, try to repel the bubbles with confusion!" The sleek cat Pokemon began to focus, and slowly, to avoid making the bubble-bombs burst, pushed the bubbles out of its path with the telekinetic attack. Poliwag was angered, and let out a new attack: It exhaled a focused blast of blue jagged beams that froze the bubbles to ice. "Sansou! Be careful!" Ash shouted "That's why my Venusaur was afraid! I once had a Lapras that knew that attack, so I know you need to watch out for that Ice Beam!" Poliwag smiled. It had outwitted another stupid trainer. Time to put them to sleep with Hypnosis and make it's gettaway.... "Use confusion to roll the frozen bubbles into Poliwag!" Sansou called. This time, using more force because it didn't have to worry about explosions from the bubbles. Each bubble was about half of Poliwag's size, and it didn't take long before Poliwag had been battered by several of its own frozen attacks. "Pokeball go again!" Sansou shouted, hurling yet another one of Ash's borrowed orbs at the purple polywog pokemon. The ball sucked it in, and began to wobble....once.....twice...."Ping". "Alright!" Sansou cheered, picking up a pokeball "I got...a Poliwag!" "Bravo" said Gary sarcasticly, coming over with some supplies for Sansou "three down, three hundred and eighty-three to go." "Relax" Ash smiled "He just caught his first pokemon. As his Uncle, you should be happy for him." Ash's smile turned to a frown "I just hope he can control it. It seemed pretty strong." "Yeah" Gary sneered "Charizard was a great example of that" "WAS" Ash pointed out. "It obeys me now." "It cost you your first attempt at conquering the Indigo League" Gary debated. "Uncle Gary" Sansou interuppted "what are you here for? I thought you were up at the lab." Gary snapped back to reality "Oh yeah! I brought you your traditional starting trainer's gear." Gary fished 5 Pokeballs and a bright red electronic device Sansou recognized as a Pokedex, the electronic device that trainers carry to record data about Pokemon. "Normally I would give you a Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle, but since you have an Espeon as your starter, you obviously don't need another" He explained. "Sweet" Sansou said "So...where's the nearest gym?" Ash sweatdropped "Wow...he's almost as anxious as I was...." "Viridian City" Gary continued, ignoring Ash "HE happens to be the resident Gym Leader there." He pointed to his old rival "But he won't take on any trainer without the other 7 badges from this region." "I could take you as far as Viridian City on my way home" Ash explained "But if you want a gym battle, you'll have to go further north to Pewter City." "Pewter City, huh?" Sansou thought "What kind of Pokemon does the Leader use?" "Well, it used to be one on one battles against Brock" Ash thought "But when he left, his dad took over with a Ryhdon and Golem. Later, when his dad retired, Forrest took over using some of his Brother's old Pokemon." "Which are?" "Let him suprise you" Sansou facefaulted. ********** Well folks, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, because I just spent a large amunt of time typing it on my computer (which is most inconviently placed out in my garage during the winter). Geez, I think that mysterious Poliwag's Ice Beam must already be getting to me... anyway, I hope you review, and tell me anything I need to work on as a writer. Thanx! =) BeeGee
