"Good luck, Ash!" yelled a redheaded tomboy, also known as Misty Waterflower, as her friend of 5 years walked on to the arena.

"Go Ash!" cheered Brock Slate, a pokemon breeder, and also Ash's best friend. The three of them had been traveling together for 5 years now. They were together on every step of Ash's Pokemon Journey, watching him collect all 8 badges, and slowly defeat the Elite Four. Today was the final judgement. Ash was against his all-time rival, the great snob, Gary Oak.

"Gary! Gary! Gary!" the crowd was chanting. Gary was the one who was more likely to win. His cheerleaders were also all going crazy. This was it. The big match.

"Ladies and gentleman! Welcome to Indigo Plateau, where today, there is a match between Ash Ketchum, of Pallet Town, and Gary Oak, also of Pallet Town!" said the announcer.

"Ok, boys! Shake hands!" said the referee. Ash and Gary shook hands. Ash winced as Gary crushed his arm.

"Good luck, Ashy-boy...you're gonna need it to beat me!" sneered Gary.

"This is a 4-on-4 match with no time limit," chimed in the referee. "Begin!"

And so it started....Ash v.s. Gary... for the title of Pokemon Master. The greatest Pokemon Battle of all time was about to begin.

"Go! Pidgeot!" yelled Ash.

"Jolteon! I choose you!" Gary yelled back.

"Whoa!! Looks like a tough one for Ash, as he is at a SERIOUS type-disadvantage here. But don't be disappointed, people! I'm sure Mr. Ketchum has some tricks up his sleeve!" roared the announcer.

"Ketchum, you're mine..." said Gary. "Jolteon, use a Quick Attack!"

"Pidgeot! You know what to do!" yelled Ash.

-Pidgeot!- (You bet!)

Pidgeot waited until the last possible second, and then used Agility and flew just behind Jolteon for a Gust attack.

"Ha!" laughed Ash. "Is that the best you got, Gary?"

"Not at all, Ashy-boy!" said Gary, with a cheeky grin. "I have you just where I want you!" That certainly wiped the smile off Ash's face. "Jolteon! Pin Missile! And follow it up with a Thunder!"

-Jolt Jolteon!- (You're going down, loser!)

"Look at this, folks! Seems like Ketchum's Pidgeot is going to be toast! Ooooh! That's gotta hurt. But what's this?!?! Pidgeot survived the attack!" said the announcer.

"Hang in there, Pidgeot!" Ash said calmly. "Use a Gust attack to distract Jolteon, and in the meanwhile, fly up and use Hyper Beam!"

"Cunning strategy, folks!" boomed the announcer. "Let's see if it will work!"

"Jolteon! Absorb both hits! When Pidgeot's recharging, hit him with another Thunder!" Gary yelled.

Pidgeot flew up, and unleashed a powerful Gust attack. Jolteon was blown back a few metres. "Pidgeot! Now!" commanded Ash. "Use your Hyper Beam!" Pidgeot glowed white, gathering energy, and shot a beam of pure white light at Jolteon.

Jolteon collapsed. The referee was about to say that Jolteon was unable to fight, when Jolteon, shaking, stood up. It aimed a single, but powerful Thundershock at Pidgeot. Pidgeot was knocked out. Just then, Jolteon, too collapsed.

"Wow! This is great, folks! Both trainers' first Pokemon have fainted! It's amazing how much Ash's Pidgeot could stand, and the Hyper Beam that Jolteon withstood was amazing! I think this will be a very interesting battle, folks!" boomed the announcer.

"Go! Nidoking!" yelled Gary.

"Ok then! Go Alakazam!" retaliated Ash. "Alakazam! Disable, and Psychic!"

"Nidoking! Watch out!" screamed Gary. "Hang in there, buddy! Use Horn Attack, and follow it up with a Hyper Beam!"

"Ouch! Both Pokemon are severely damaged. Who is going to faint first?" said the announcer.

"Alakazam! Finish him off with another Psychic!" yelled Ash.

-Alakazam!- (Right!)

Alakazam fired its Psychic, and Nidoking was knocked out instantly. "This round goes to Alakazam! Who will Mr. Oak send out next?"

"Go! Alakazam!" replied Gary to the announcer.

-Ala Alakazam!- (You're going down!)

B>"Check this out, folks! It's Alakazam vs. Alakazam! Is this great or what!" yelled the announcer.

"Hey, Alakazam!" Ash said to his Alakazam. "You up for another one?"

-Ala zam!- (You bet!)

"Alakazam! Psybeam!" yelled both trainers.

Two brilliant, coloured beams flew at each of the Alakazams. They met in the middle, each pushing the other one; it was a contest of strength. Ash's Alakazam, already weakened, was losing power. Slowly, bit by bit, the beam started edging towards it.

'Come on, come on, come on' thought Ash.

"Alakazam! Stop the Psybeam and use your Psychic!" said Gary.

That was one of the biggest mistakes Gary ever made. In the split second in which his Alakazam stopped it's Psybeam to switch to Psychic, Ash's Alakazam's Psybeam hit, and, surprisingly, knocked his opponent out!

"Holy! Would you look at that, folks! Looks like Ash may have what it takes to beat Gary! Oak is down to his last Pokemon!" screamed the announcer.

"Grr....That's it, Ketchum! You're going down!!" yelled Gary. Saying so, he picked up a gold Poke Ball from his Poke Belt. He kissed it lightly and said, "Go! Espeon!"

The crowd gasped. An Espeon! The most powerful evolution of Eevee! How was Ash going to beat this? Impossible...but maybe his Pikachu had a chance...

"Espeon! Confusion!" yelled Gary. Alakazam had no chance. He swooned a bit after he was hit. Then, he fainted.

"Go Gary, go! Go Gary, go! Go Gary, go!" the crowd was shouting. Well, except for 2 people. Brock and Misty. They were the only ones on Ash's side.

"Charizard! Go!" yelled Ash.

"Espeon! Shoot a Psybeam at Charizard the moment he comes out of his Poke Ball!" yelled Gary.

The crowd watched as Gary's Espeon did just that; Charizard was down for the count.

"Whoa, folks! It looks like Ketchum's down to his last Pokemon! Its 1-on-1!" commentated the announcer.

"All right, then. Pikachu, do your stuff." Ash said.

His Pikachu, the first Pokemon he ever had, walked to the center of the arena. He was ready. Ready to win.

"Pikachu! Agility! And then use Thunderbolt!" yelled Ash.

-Pika!- (Ok!)

"Espeon! Counter it with a Psychic!" retaliated Gary.

Both Pokemon used their attacks. Pikachu sped up greatly, and delivered a shocking Thunderbolt to Espeon. Espeon shook its head, and fired a powerful Psychic right at Pikachu.

"Pikachu! Hang in there!" Ash yelled when he saw his friend being hit with the Psychic attack. "Use Thunderbolt again!"

"Could this be the end?" asked the announcer. "Is this really it?"

"Espeon! Mirror Move!" said Gary.

Two Thunderbolts flew at each other, about to meet. When the two of them met, there was a powerful explosion!

BOOM!!

As the smoke cleared, both Pokemon were still standing!

"Whoa folks! Both Pokemon are still standing, but looking very weak. This is it!" roared the announcer.

"Espeon! Finish it off! Take Down!" yelled Gary, confident he was going to win.

"Pikachu! Take the hit!" said Ash.

Everyone watched as Espeon literally flew at Pikachu, to deliver the final blow, to claim the victory.... WHACK! Contact was made! Pikachu was knocked out!

"Will you look at this, folks! Gary's Espeon has delivered the final blow to Ash's Pik- WHAT'S THIS!?!?!? It appears as if Espeon has fainted, too! Could this match be a tie??"

"Hehehehe...Forgot that using Take Down made you recoil, didn't you..." smirked Ash. He then turned towards his Pikachu. "Pikachu! Stand up, little buddy! Stand up just for a second!"

"Espeon! Get up! Come on! Get up, now!" pleaded Gary.

The crowd held its breath, to see which Pokemon rose first. Both of them were stirring.

"Come on, buddy! Please!" cheered Ash.

Slowly, and painfully, by the looks of it, Pikachu stood up. By standing up, this little electric rodent had just won the Pokemon Master Title for his trainer! And then, he collapsed again.

"Yeah!! Go, Ash! We knew you had it in you!" screamed Brock and Misty.

Ash ran out to hug his Pikachu, the Pokemon that made his dreams come true...

Brock and Misty rushed down to him, to hug him, to congratulate him on his victory. Tears came to Ash's eyes as the referee officially announced his victory, and crowned him the Pokemon Master. Gary came over, and shook Ash's hand.

"Congrats...Better get ready, because next time we meet, I'm going to claim that title for myself!" said Gary. And then, he disappeared.

Ash, overcome with joy on his victory, walked away from the Stadium with his friends, to join Lance, the Dragon Master in the ceremonies.
