Author's note: Pokemon talk in this chapter, what they say is in {}. People thoughts are in ' ' **** Ash was royaly ticked off. Sure he had lost battles before, but now he was losing to his sister! His mind was racing. They both had three more Pokemon left. He knew Belle had a Feraligatr, so he was saving Pikachu for it. She was chasing an Urasring earlier, so she has that. That left her last Pokemon. He gritted his teeth. "Sceptile, I choose you!" Ash tossed a PokeBall in the air. The green humanoid-lizard pulled out his trademark twig and put it in his mouth. His large, razor sharp fern-like tail twitched in anticipation to a fight. Belle smiled, and threw her Pokeball. The Ursaring from earlier appeared, still looking pretty ticked off. A growl rumbled deep in his throat. {Wow. This Ursaring looks pretty ticked off. Wonder what happened.} Sceptile murmered. 'Types don't matter here. The reason she's beating me is that she's in sync with her pokemon and they are very fast. So I'll have to match her speed', Ash thought. "Sceptile! Use Agility!" Ash commanded. Sceptile exhaled and relaxed every one of his muscles, causing him to become lighter. "Ursaring, use Slash." Ursaring roared and launched himself at Sceptile, claws gleaming in the light. Sceptile jumped over Ursaring quickly, leaving Urasring on his face. {That's the second time today I've ended up on the ground. Now I'm MAD!!!} Ursaring roared. His face turned red and he launched himself at Sceptile again. Sceptile dodged again, but Ursaring managed to rake Sceptile's left foot. Sceptile screeched in pain. "Sceptile! Don't move unless you have to! Use Bullet Seed!" Sceptile rapidly spat seeds at Ursarings face. One of them managed to lodge itself in Ursaring's right eye, blinding him. "Ursaring, listen to me! The only you're going to win is if you concentrate! Use Odor Sleuth!" {Grrr...Fine.} Ursaring angrily agreed. He calmed down and sniffed the air. Thankfully, his species have the best sense of smell in the world. He was easily able to distinguish Sceptile's scent from the others. {Eh? What's this? I smell more Pokemon than I can see. I see that Sceptile and that Pikachu, but why do I smell six Pokemon?} Ursaring thought. "Sceptile, use Solarbeam!" Sceptile's six sap orbs on his back started glowing, collecting the light. "Ursaring, try to get around Sceptile and use Slash!" Ursaring realized what Belle was getting at. He barreled around Sceptile, but Sceptile was keeping his back to him. He knew what she was getting at, too. Sceptile opened his mouth and fired a storng beam of sunlight at Ursaring's belly. It connected and flung Ursaring across the arena. "Ursaring, return. Thanks for cooperating." Belle said. Ursaring growled weakly as he retreated into his Pokeball. "Sceptile, return. Good Job." Ash commented as he recalled Sceptile. "Go, Sealeo!" Belle yelled as she tossed another Pokeball forward. A moderately large, blue sea lion appeared, wiggling it's prominate thick white whiskers. It patted it's cream colored chest with it's front fins. "Go show him who's boss Swellow!" Ash threw another Pokeball, and medium sized bird with dark-blue plumage, a largely white underbelly with a red geometrically-patterned top section, and two prominant tail feathers. "Swellow, use Aerial Ace!" Swellow tackled Sealeo at blinding speed. {Ow. That Swellow is strong. Sadly, not strong enough to win.} Sealeo taunted. {Oh yeah? I'm not the one who's grounded, Tubby.} Swellow shot back. {Oh, you birds are so annoying. You think you're better than all the rest just because you can fly.} Sealeo said. Ash was very confused. He could hear a one-sided argument between Sealeo and Swellow. He could understand what Sealeo was saying clear as day. 'What? How can I understand what Sealeo is saying? I could hear Corphish too. Something's not right...',Ash thought. "Sealeo, use Hail!" {Raiv mowe axn ain we ix laddve!} Sealeo bellowed. Storm clouds started to gather and hail started to fall. Swellow was pelted with ice. "Swellow use Wing Attack!" Swellow flew up, dodging the ice, then dove at Sealeo with wings spread wide. "Sealeo use Ice Beam." Belle calmly instucted. Sealeo collected icy energy at the back of his throat. "Wait for it, wait for it...Now!" Belle yelled. Sealeo fired it at Swellow. Swellow was enveloped in the energy. He fell to the ground, encased in ice. "Swellow return." "Sealeo, retun." Ash stared angrily at his sister, who was smiling smugly. {Ash, you need to calm down. If you lose concentration, you could make a bad mistake.} Pikachu advised. Ash sighed. "Alright Pikachu. You're up pal. Be careful against her Feraligatr." "Go on Squirt. Your turn buddy!" Belle tossed her last Pokeball. A large bipedal alligator appeared, it's sharp teeth bared in a toothy grin. It was blue with a yellow V stripe across it's lower belly. It also had red, jagged scales on it's head, back and tail. It's back was hunched, giving it the appearance of bending over. Pikachu walked toward him. {Let's have a good fight kid.} Feraligatr said with a smile. {You got it.} Pikachu replied. 'There it is again! Feraligatr is speaking! What's going on with me!?', Ash thought. "Feraligatr, use Hydro Pump!" A stream of water forcefully erupted from her jaws and caught Pikachu off guard by it's speed. Pikachu shook the water off of his coat. "Pikachu use Volt Tackle!" {Gotcha!} Pikachu laughed. He let loose electricity as he ran toward Feraligatr, the electricity growing more powerful as he ran. "Use Slash to get him away from you!" When Pikachu was about a foot away from her, Feraligatr swung her left paw at him and sent him flying across the arena. "Pikachu, are you okay buddy?" Ash yelled. Pikachu shakily stood up. {......Yeah. I'm alright. It's flippin' unbelievable how fast they are.} He replied. "Feraligatr, follow Steelix's plan." Belle simply said. Feraligatr looked around and spotted the hole that Steelix had dug from earlier. She smiled, and jumped in. "Pikachu, keep moving! Try to NOT keep in one place for too long!" Ash instructed, beads of sweat dripping from his face. 'Now what? Oh, man. I feel sick', Ash thought. Pikachu started darting around the arena. {Feraligatr is underground. She's going to be able to detect me by the vibrations I make as I run. Something's up with Ash, too. He does't look too good.} Pikachu thought. Suddenly the ground started rumbling. Pikachu lost his footing and stumbled. Then as Pikachu was scrambling to get up, Feraligatr burst out of the ground beneath him and raked his belly with her claws. He screamed in pain. Then Feraligatr opened her jaws and shot a powerful shot of water at the wound. Pikachu landed limply on the ground. "Pikachu!!" Ash yelled. His eyes widened, then he bent over and threw up his breakfast all over the floor. After he finished, Ash passed out. "Ash!" Belle ran over to him. '.....My head is killing me...I feel sick as a dog......Who is that?...???...''Guardian of the waters, it's time you've awakened. The Curse Of Legends has lifted. Three thousend years have passed for you. Your physical appearence shall be returned in due time.Your abilities will return once you awaken. Ask your friend 'Brock' about his past. He shall explain the Curse to you. I forgive you."......Huh? That voice...it's cold and...pierceing...Who is that?......' "......Ash? Ash, can you hear me?" Ash blearily opened his eyes. He was lying in a bed, surrounded by his friends. Belle and May on the left side, Max on the right, and Pikachu sitting at his feet, with a bandage wrapped around his stomach. Brock was standing at the window, staring out into thin air. "W..Where am I?" Ash asked weakly. Belle spoke up. "Well, after you vomited you passed out. You were barely breathing, so we rushed you to the hospital. You've been unconcious for five hours." "You scared us. For a few minutes, you stopped breathing." May said shakily. While Ash and his friends were talking, Brock was thinking hard about his little predicament. 'How should I tell them? Should I include Belle? ...She is kind of cute...No! Focus! Ok, if she's anything like Ash (which she is) I can trust her. I'll tell them now.' Brock thought. "Um, guys?" Brock asked. They all looked at him. He could feel his face getting red. 'I must look like an idiot in front of her...' He thought. "Uh, well,*sigh* I haven't exactly told you the truth about my, well, 'past'." He started, choosing his words carefully. Ash looked at him strangly, having known him the longest out of everyone there. "Um, to start with...I'm not a people. I-I mean I'm not a person.*exhale*Every little thing you know about me is a lie." 'There. It's a good start.' "What are you talking about Brock?" May asked. "My name isn't Brock. I'm not even human." Everyone waited for Brock to finish. "I'm a Pokemon trapped in a human body. I have been for about three thousend years. You see, a long time ago, when humans were just begining to build permanent villages, two legendary Pokemon were acting like fools and got on the wrong side of a Black Ninetales, whose real name I now know is Kyuubi, and for their foolishness She cursed them to walk the lands as humans. The Curse affected all of the legendaries and transformed them into humans, erasing their memories. Kyuubi let the two who angered her keep their memories, so they could live in guilt over what they've done. The two Pokemon who angered Kyuubi were Raikou and Entei. The official name for the curse is 'The Curse Of Legends'. And my true name is..." Brock sighed sadly. "Entei." ***** Is it just me, or is that SHOCKING? ... ... ... I kid. ;P I guess you figured it out from the flashbacks who Brock was. Next chapter we see what James is up to. I DON'T OWN: POKEMON I DO OWN: Belle, The Curse Of Legends, Kyuubi, and the language Sealeo was speaking. Sealeo was saying: ~Hail come and aid me in battle!~ Questions? Comments?
