The Dragon Master V: Chapter One It is a beautiful summer's day, and I am sitting on the Goldenrod City Radio Tower, basking in the bright light of the sun, and thinking about what I was preparing for today: Misty and I were finally getting married. I didn't have any doubts, because I knew that she was the one. She had to be. How could she not have been the one if she had put up with all the things that have happened over the past years? Speaking of years, the year was 2006. Misty and I were both eighteen years, old. We were legally adults, so we didn't need our parents' permission to get married. It was August, and the happiest day of my life. You would think that I would be at the Palace of the Elite Four getting ready, as the wedding was in three hours. But I wanted to enjoy the last part of my life being single. But, I would have to go soon, and decided that I should go now. "Ahhh," I moaned, getting up and stretching. I called my wings, and took off for the Palace of the Elite Four. On the way, I thought about the journey that I was getting into, and I couldn't think of a better person to go through the journey with. I must have been thinking a bit too hard, because I got there in no time. I landed, and went into the hall, where Misty and I would be married. It was a fiasco in there. Everyone was running this way and that, putting up things, cooking food, and making sure everything was just perfect. Everything was in a color of teal and blue, as those were our wedding colors. Brock was my best man, and he was glad to be. Bruno was in charge of the decorations. "What do you think," Bruno said, gesturing at the decorations. "They're great," I smiled. Bruno looked at me, as if something was not right. "Bob, are you okay," Bruno asked. "I'm getting married today," I said confidently. "What's there to be worried about?" "You're not going to get cold feet," Bruno asked. "No," I said. "Misty is the one. I know that for sure. She is the one for me to be with for the rest of my life. Understand?" "Yeah," Bruno said. "Go and get ready. The wedding is going to be soon. Don't change in your room, Misty is in there. You know that's bad luck. Change in my room." "Thanks," I said. I went off to Bruno's chambers to change. Inside was a white tuxedo that I was going to wear for the wedding. I slipped into in, and put on a tie. Walking out, I realized that the wedding was in only a half an hour. I went to the hall to wait. Many of the people were there. I looked on my side of the hall, which there were teal chairs. I saw Lorelei, my mother. She was sitting near the front, holding a handkerchief in her hand, because she evidently knew that she would start crying. I also was surprised to see Giovanni, my father. I sent him an invitation, but I did not expect him to come. He was lingering near the back of the hall, not sitting down. He was just standing there, as if waiting for something. I shifted my mind onto the other guests. Most of the Masters were there. I didn't see Will there, though. I wondered where he could be. I shook it off, because somebody came up to me and started talking to me. It was a guy and a girl. "Hi," the guy said. "I'm Nick. This is my wife, Carrie. And you must be Bob Shepardson." I shook his hand, smiling. "That's correct," I said. "So you're marrying my cousin, eh," Nick said. "Misty, I mean." "Yeah," I said. "She's something." "Damn straight," Nick said. He looked towards the floor, and up at me again. "So," I said. "What side of the family are you of Misty's? She's never mentioned you." "Probably because you two are too busy saving Kanto and Johto," Nick said. "But I'm from her father's side." "Cool," I said. "I've never met any of Misty's relatives. Except her parents, but that was a long time ago..." "Dude," Nick said. "Misty's parents died all the way back in 1991. They've been dead for fourteen years. How could you have met them?" "I had to um...go back in time using a Mysticman," I said. "Met them then. It's too complicated. Best not to think about it." "Sure, man," Nick said. "Well, me and Carrie here are going to go and sit down. Catch you later." He winked at me, and gave me this look. I didn't like it. He clapped me on the shoulder, and went to sit down on Misty's side. I heard music starting to be played, so I went up and stood by the altar with Bruno. I watched the bridesmaids come down the aisle. The three bridesmaids, Whitney, Duplica, and Janine walked down first. they took their places on the opposite side of the altar. Next came the maid of honor, Erika. Erika stood closest to the altar. The wedding march started, and Misty came out from behind a pillar like a ray of sunshine. She looked extravagant. Her face was hidden behind her veil, but I knew that she was just as happy as I was, if not happier. She proceeded down the aisle, and she came up to the altar. The priest looked at us both. "Welcome everyone," the priest said. "We are here today to celebrate the blessed sacrament of Matrimony between these two, Misty Waterflower, and Bob Shepardson. If there is anyone within this church that has a reason that these two people should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace." I waited, hoping that no one would say a word. Seconds ticked by as if hours. The church was deathly silent. However, I saw Will enter from the back of the church. He took a seat quickly, so no one would notice. I breathed a sigh of relief all too soon. The back doors of the church blasted open, and people flooded in, half wearing blue suits, and the other half red suits. After they had all finished filing in, two people came through the doors, one wearing a red Master's cloak, a Fire Master. The other one was wearing a blue Master's cloak, a Water Master. Two people hopped up from their seats and took a place beside the two Masters. One of them was Nick, Misty's cousin that I had met earlier. The other one was Carrie, Nick's wife. "I object," the Water Master said. "On what grounds," I demanded. "The bride's father never gave her away," he said. "And what does it matter to you," I asked. The Water Master removed his hood. I recognized this man. Misty gasped. "It can't be," she said, stepping away from him. "Oh, it is, Misty," the Water Master said. I also remembered this man. When I saved Misty back in time, this was the man who was in the Gym with Misty's mother. "Back to your question," the Water Master said. "I'm Misty's father." The whole crowd gasped and murmured. "But you died," Misty said. "You died fifteen years ago!" "I faked my death," he shrugged. "And let me introduce my team. I call them Team Aqua." He gestured toward the row of people wearing blue. "Let me introduce my team," the Fire Master said. "Team Magma." "Let's do this," Misty's father said, cracking his knuckles. "Fine," I said, forcing my tuxedo to disappear, and a teal ninja suit appearing, along with teal fingerless fighting gloves. All of the other Masters called their fighting apparel, including Misty. She looked furious. I wasn't sure why, though. "I'll take the Fire Master," Misty said. I nodded. "I'll take the other one," I said, unsure if I should've called him her father. I called my teal katana with the silver hilt, and charged towards him. He, in turn, called a blue staff. "WATER SURGE," Misty's father cried. He held out his staff, and water came barreling out the end. Jumping up and calling my wings, I dodged it. I came down hard, but he had already back flipped away. "OUTRAGE," I cried. My sword erupted in teal flames, and I was slicing at him as furiously as I could. Meanwhile, Misty was taking on the Fire Master. She was barreling Fire attacks at what appeared to be a female Fire Master. She had her twin blue sai knives. The Fire Master also had a staff, but red in color. "FIRE SPIN," the Fire Master shouted. A tornado of fire came out of her staff, heading at Misty. "WATER SPOUT," Misty yelled. The tornado of fire turned into a tornado of water, and it hit the Fire Master, knocking her hood off. "ARGH," the Fire Master yelled in pain. Misty could see who it was. Misty looked in disbelief at the Fire Master. "Mom," Misty gasped. In another part of the room, water pokemon and fire pokemon were taking on the rest of the Masters. Team Aqua and Team Magma were losing, however, so the trainers themselves entered the fight. The trainers were trying to attack the Masters with daggers, but it wasn't working too well. The Masters were clobbering the trainers with their elemental powers. "Why are you here," I grunted through my teeth to Misty's father, the Water Master. He smiled to me, and replied. "Two reasons," he answered. "One, I was sent here. And two, I didn't get to give my daughter away...I would've never given her to you, though." That angered me, so I continued to slice away at him. "Slowking, I choose you," he shouted. "PUFF, GO," I cried. "Slowking," the Water Master shouted. "ICE BEAM!" Slowking fired out a tremendous force of ice, but Puff dodged it easily. "Puff," I said. "THUNDER!" Electricity came out of Puff's antennae, striking Slowking with a powerful blow. Slowking flew back ten feet, and Misty's father knew that he had to do something. "Slowking, it's time," the Water Master said. The pokemon nodded. "Time for what," I demanded. "Oh, you'll see," the Water Master said. "REALITY DISTORTION!" Slowking put its hands to its head, and closed its eyes. It seemed to be concentrating. All of a sudden, Slowking opened its eyes, and they were white as white could be. The light spread out to the room, and everyone in it seemed to be frozen. I felt it go past me, and as it did, I was instantly knocked out. The last thing I remember was the white light spreading across the room, and over everyone in its way... I woke up, but didn't open my eyes. I sat up, and finally opened my eyes. It appeared that I was in a huge city, with people running all over the place. I had never seen this city before, and I had traveled all over Kanto and Johto. I was lost, and I didn't even know what city I was in...I didn't know what day it was, or even the year...it felt like I was in a different reality... - End of Chapter One -
