PokeTek: FFVI/Pokemon Crossover
Novelization
By The Phoenix Effect

This piece will merge the characters, their personalities, and game concepts of Pokemon with the story and character personalities of FF VI. If you are familiar with FF VI and the Pokemon anime I will kindly ask you to take a poll for later chapters that will determine who replaces whom. Make note that some of the elemental forces will be different. Fire=Psychic energy and Ice=Water. This should already give a good hint for those who played both games. Now on to the story!

-Intro-

Long ago, the War of the Magi reduced the world to a scorched
wasteland, and magic simply ceased to exist.

1000 years have passed... Iron, gunpowder and steam engines have been
rediscovered, and high technology reigns...

But there are some who would enslave the world by reviving the dread
destructive force known as "magic."

Can it be that those in power are on the verge of repeating a
senseless and deadly mistake?

Three figures approached a cliff that looked over a large prosperous town. Two of those figures were male imperial soldiers dressed in the regular attire of their rank. Their armor and helmet were both made out of leather that unfortunately did not protect them from the cold. The third figure was a young woman with long raven hair. She wore a purple dress that had an accompanying purple sash. She also wore an out-of-place mechanical crown. Strangely she was not affected by the weather even though her garb was less protective from the cold than the soldiers’ armor.

They each separately rode and controlled a large brown mech. It was controlled using two control sticks to move it and four buttons that summoned the mechs mystic weaponry and healing energy. The woman’s mech was apparently more complex and powerful as it contained more buttons than the soldiers’ mech. Those who knew about these machines grew to fear them. They were the Empire’s PokeTek Armour. They helped protect the rider and had somehow been able to use magical energies.

One soldier shivered as he looked down at the town. The town would not have prospered had it not been for the almost endless supply of coal in their mines. This town, called Narshe, is one of the few city-states not under Imperial control due to it’s neutrality between the anti-Imperial group, called the Returners, and the Empire.

The soldier named Vicks turned to the one named Wedge and said," There’s the town Narshe"

He replied "Hard to believe a Pokemon has been found intact in there, a thousand years after the War of the Magi..."

"Do you think it's still alive?"

"I guess.....concluding from the urgency of our orders."

"And what about this woman, this...witch...Why's she here? I heard she
fried 50 of our Magitek Armored soldiers’ mind in under 3 minutes."

"Don’t worry. The slave crown on her head prevents her from making conscious thoughts and takes away her memories. She’ll do what you tell her. Lets go!"

The soldiers marched forward until they reached the town’s gateway. Wedge commanded, "Put the witch in front. We don’t need to take any risks."

"...but what if she gets hurt or killed? I mean she is the Empire’s "secret weapon". The Emperor will have our heads if she doesn’t come out of this alive."

"She won’t be killed. She would be better prepared for any attacks due to her magic and enhanced mech. Now Forward March!"

The raven haired girl went in front of her commanders and marched through the town until a Narshe guards, dogs, and mammoth like monsters stopped them at several points. The guards each had their own words to say to the invaders as they marched forward.

"Machine-riding, self-important swine! Take this!"

"Imperial PokeTek Armor? Not even Narshe's safe anymore!"

The guards and dogs called Lobo’s attacked the PokeTek Armored soldiers, but to no avail. The riders simply pushed a button to blast their opponents to oblivion! The machines blasted beams of pure psychic, water, or electric energy. The soldiers and girl pressed a white button to heal themselves with curing green energy if they got hurt. Even when trapped, no group could take them down.

The guards made one final assault before they reached the mine that held the ancient pokemon. They used their mammoth like Vomammoths to aid them as they attacked. These monsters were somehow able to summon a mini blizzard that would have killed the riders were they not in their armor. The invaders used psychic beams to destroy each defender. They then marched onward to the mine.

At the entrance to the mine Wedge said, "According to our reliable source, the frozen Pokemon was found in a new
mine shaft....Maybe this one..."

A wooden gate that was a little after the entrance to the mine blocked the way to the pokemon. Vicks went forward and said, "I'll handle this gate. Stand back!"

The captain of the guards came out as soon as the gate came down. He yelled, "We won't hand over the frozen pokemon! Whelk! Get them!"

The invaders heard a large roar as a giant snail assaulted them. Vicks was about to strike back with a lighting beam, but Wedge stopped him.

"Vicks! Hold it! Think back to our briefing......"

"What about it?! (Thank God Wedge is the smart listening one...)"

"Do you recall hearing about a monster that eats lightning......"

Vicks interrupted, "......and stores the energy in its shell!"

"Correct, my dear Watson. So whatever you do, don't attack the shell!"

"Yeah, water! Now lets hurry up and kill it!"

The men attacked the snail with psychic or water energy beams while the girl used a more powerful missile that was only equipped onto her mech.
They were careful to not attack it with lightning or attack the shell when it pulled its head back in. At some point Vicks accidently pushed his attack button to quick and attacked the shell when the monster was not out yet. It let out a huge strike of electricity that attacked all of them. The girl remedied that by using her magic spell cure to heal all of them. Soon the monster was beaten. They rode the armor until they reached a large mystic monster that was known to them as a pokemon.

These pokemon were not like the monsters that lived in the world of Aeolus. Pokemon were intelligent mystic beings that controlled magic.

The girl that knew magic was suddenly attracted to the pokemon. Energy seemed to flow between them...

Wedge being curious said, " Hey! What's the matter? Do you know something we don't......?"

Suddenly an eerie light surrounded the girl...

"Where's that light coming from?! Uwaaaaaaa!!!!"
These were the final words of wedge as he disappeared.

"Hey! Wedge......where are you? W......what's happening?!"
Vicks soon followed Wedge’s fate...

The girl faints and her armor broke down...

Later an old man found her and brought her to his house..
