Tiger Of The Wind By: Skylar Nelson Chapter 1 The Legend "The wind is harsh here in the snow mountains. To survive takes great skill and dermantion You must be a predator, not pray. If you are prey, you are doomed. For no man nor beast could survive the harsh winter wind. All but one beast. A beast of skill and wisdom. A beast who is also a powerful Poke'mon. This creature lives among the vast landscape. Food is little and enemies are every where. It is amazing that this creature could last as long as it has. It has speed and great skill. It has friends, which is a rare thing in this part. It and its friends have traveled this land and made it there own. Nothing can stop there killing and way of living. For they rule this land. No human dares go in without a gun or weapon. If he or she is not armed, all is lost. For these creatures are revengeful. Hating all humans for pain they have suffered in the past. They show no remorse nor mercy of any kind. They have wisdom and brains. As do there leader. There leader is a strong creature which started it all. Almost killed as a pup, it ran far away from its cruel home. Far away into the mountains with its little brother. There, they were able to live. A surprise that such small pups could survive in a harsh world. Spring was cool and pleasant as well as summer and fall. But soon the winter weather came. And they were lost. All hope for them was. Blizzards took over the rain and the light, gentle breezes where over taken by strong winter winds. Snow was falling every day and night and the tempature would fall to fifty below. The pups would huddle in a cave to get warm until it all past. Soon, spring came around again and then summer and fall. Then the winter. Each time winter came, the pups were stronger and older. Pretty soon, winter was no threat to the full grown Wolflithe and Gray Wolf. They where strong and handsome and were ready to start a pack. They came across more who joined them and finally a young female Jessy. She was beautiful. A fight broke out between Wolflithe and a Scale, who was a member of the pack. In the horrid battle, the young Wolflithe got a scar that ran from the middle of his forehead to a little past the corner of his mouth. After the battle, the Scale was beaten and thrown out. The Wolflithe had won Jessy and they became mates. Deciding not to have puppies, the pack grew and continued Always with the Wolflithe and Jessy in the lead as the leaders. Gray Wolf was always there to advise. As the pack grew, the humans began to take over the place. That's when the attacks grew and the pack drove everyone away. People describe the Wolflithe as fast, strong and swift. Stronger even that of a man- eating tiger! Others described the Wolflithe of having great powers over the wind. He had a powerful attack called Roar that could knock down anything. Even a hundred elephants and buildings put together! These statements gave the young Wolflithe his nickname. Tiger Of The Wind. And still today, he rules in the mountains, young, strong, proud and beautiful. Fast and swiftly as ever. Tiger of the Wind." Grandma shut the giant book closed and stood up from her chair. "And that, my children, is the story of why the mountain is dangerous." she said. "Aw Grandma! Read some more!" whined my little sister, Lisa. "Yeah! Please!" begged my little brother, Ben. "I'm sorry kids. I promised your parents I'd have you in bed by nine. So go get ready and I'll be in there soon." answered my Grandma with a warm glowing smile. "Okay. I'll race you up the stairs, Lisa!" challenged my brother. They both jumped up and ran up the stairs. They slipped and slide and I knew they where going to break there necks. I rolled my eyes and my Grandma laughed as they finally made it to the bedroom. I went back to my picture. The whole time my Grandma read stories to them, I was trying to draw a picture of my Poke'mon, Gato, who sat on the table asleep. Grandma lend over my shoulder to see my picture. "That's beautiful, Sky!" she said. "Thanks. I want to redo it though. I would rather have Gato sitting up." I answered her. I put down my things. "Grandma?" "Yes dear?" "Why do you tell my little brother and sister those silly stories. There not true." My Grandma smiled and sat down on her chair again. "Ah, but you do not know that my child. Many stories are taken as not true, when they have never been proven either way. But you may be right. The story of Tiger Of The Wind use to be your favorite story of all." my Grandma said with a smile. I made a face. I hated to here how clueless I was when I was little. "I was dumb back then. I was too little to think it was fake." Grandma frowned. "That's not true at all, Sky. You loved it because you believed it was real. When you believe in something that you like, it seems real to you." "Whatever. I'm going to sleep, okay Grandma? Good night." "Good night Sky." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and then scooped up Gato. I carried her up stairs and went into my room. I shut the door and locked it to make sure Ben adn Lisa stayed out. I herd my Grandma coming up the stairs to tuck them in. I got dressed and climbed into bed. At that time, Gato awoke. Gato is a rare Poke'mon that I got for my birthday. She can talk and speak her mind very well. "Did I miss anything?" she asked in her high, evil sounding voice. "Nope. Just a story." I answered as I took my hair down. "Which one?" I put the hair holder on my nightstand with my alarm clock. "The one about Tiger Of The Wind." Gato smiled warmly. "The one you love? Did you like it the hundredth time around?" "Loved. I wasn't listening, I was drawing." I said a little snappy. "Oh. What were you drawing?" "You." "Cool! Can I see?" "In the morning." I lied down and rolled over to face my window. Gato climbed up and onto my pillow. She curled up in a ball and fell fast asleep. Gato looks like a small cat. She has snowy white fur with big ears that had purple tufts of fur at the end. Her back paws are normal but her front paws are different. They look like gloves but a really part of her body. She can take them off and revel her really, normal paws underneath. The glove like paws have sharp black claws at the end and have red tiger stripes and are green. Her tail is long and thin and is light purple. She had little strips that are dark purple at the end and her tail is also parted at the end. She has a green ring around her tail near the parted part. I always get every detail right when I draw her. The thought of it put me to sleep fast. And for some wired reason, I dreamed about Tiger Of The Wind and his pack. That I was lost in the mountains and there was a terrible blizzard. But I wasn't twelve like I am now. I was three. Tiger Of The Wind and his pack came and saved me. I became there friend and ally. And Gato and Grandma were with me and were there friend too. And Tiger Of The Wind was even more beautiful than the book describe him. Much more. Chapter 2 Battle In The Town I decided to go into town the next day. Grandma asked me to pick up some milk for her and mom made me go to get more food for Gato. Gato said she wanted to go for a walked for excise, but I bet she just wanted to pick out the food. I walked down the long, stone path from our house to town. We don't live that far away, but it still is a very long walk. I finally made it and we both sat down on some chairs under the shade of a big umbrella. "Can we have some lemonade?" asked Gato. "Sorry. I only got enough money for Grandma and mom's things." I sighed. I wanted a drink too. But I couldn't. "Then have a drink on me!" came a sudden voice. I looked up, startled to see my good friend Holly. She wore a red shirt with white long sleeves. She had long, brown, loose pants and a brown vest that covered most of her red shirt. She had long brown hair that reached to the middle of her back and was tied back with a red bow that really didn't stand out. She was my age and very pretty in a dress and make-up. But, like me, she hated to get dressed up. Even without a dress and make-up, she was pretty. She sat down in a chair next to me and Gato quickly choked down her drink. "What brings you here?" I asked her. Holly shrugged. "My dad asked me to come and I decided too." Holly's dad runs the store, which was where Gato and I were sitting next to. "Is is all right to drink these?" I asked gingerly. Holly laughed. "There not poisoned." "No, no. I mean that you payed for it." "Sure! As long as you pay, it doesn't matter." "Cool!" I took a long drink and then set the glass down. Suddenly, I herd laughter. I looked over to the center of the street and saw Donny. He has dirty blond hair and really baggy close. He's part of a gang that picks on trainers with Poke'mon and challenges them. He's Poke'mon are pretty good, but aren't as good as mine. I have three more not counting Gato. Today, Donny and the rest of his gang were really not picking on anyone. They were getting challenged by a young boy. He had a Pikachu and two other friends that stood by and watched. He looked about ten or eleven and had black hair with a hat on. His Pikachu looked healthy and happy with a shinny coat. A young girl and an older boy were also with him. The girl had red and orange like hair with a yellow shirt on. She also had shorts. She looked about eleven. The other boy also had black hair and had a green shirt on with red pants. He had a big backpack and had a pad of paper and pencil in hand. He was drawing something. "So, you want to battle us, squirt?" Donny laughed. "I am not a squirt!" the young boy yelled. "Pika pika!" The Pikachu jumped off the boy's shoulder and onto the ground, sparks flying from its cheeks. "That's it Pikachu! Never give up!" "Speaking of which, Donny never does." Holly sighed. "That boy doesn't look strong at all. He will surely lose." Gato added. "Only if Donny cheats again." I said. Donny always cheats if he is or is about to lose. But his cheats look as though they happened to be a mistake and Donny wins. "He is such a jerk! That poor kid looks ready to win." I said. "His fault." said Gato, grabbing my drink and drinking what was left. "Come on, we have to make sure Donny lose's. It'll be funny to see his face when someone else beats him besides us." I said. Maybe that was a mistake to help, but I'm glad to this day I did. I got up and went over behind Donny. Holly and Gato followed and Gato took her place on my shoulder. Donny turned around and saw us. His eyes got wide. "What are you doing here!?" he yelled in shock. It was too perfect. "Well, you always say you can't beat me or Holly but you can beat other people, so we want to watch." I said with a lovely smile. Donny mumbled a cures word and truned toward the battle. "I can beat you, kid." Donny said. "I'm waiting for you to send out a Poke'mon." the boy sighed. Donny grab his Pokeball He threw it high and his landed hard on the ground. A burst of light came out and formed a big tall creature. It was a Charizard. I laughed and the three friends stared at me. "What's so funny?" the girl asked the older boy. He shrugged. "Nice trick, Donny. But you can't fool me." I said. "That tricks old." Holly sighed. Donny clinched his fist and walked up to me, face to face. Donny is a fifteen year old, but is a coward. "Stay out of this, Sky! This is not your battle!" he growled. I pushed him to the side with his gang. "It is now. Gato, Tail Lash that Charizard!" I ordered. Gato leaped and lashed her tail at Charizard. It cut him across the neck and he glowed a strange pink and turned into a Ditto. Gato landed in front of it and slashed it. It truned into bubble gum. "That trick is silly, Donny. You find a strong Poke'mon in another battle and have Ditto transform and stay that way for your battles. You have to think better." said Gato. The older boy gasped. "I talking Poke'mon!? How rare!" "Pika?" The little Pikachu scratched his head. Donny cursed again and returned his Ditto. "One day I'll beat you, Sky. You and your stupid Gato." he said. With that, him and his pack, were gone. I rolled my eyes. "The only stupid one is him." said Gato, climbing on my shoulder. The three friends walked over. The Pikachu on the boy's shoulder. The older boy went up to Gato. "Hold still. I want a picture." he said. He began to draw a picture and Gato just sat there. The girl pushed him away. The young boy with the Pikachu came out and held out his hand. "My names Ash. This is Pikachu." "Pika!" Pikachu waved. I took his hand. "I'm Sky. This is Gato and this is my friend Holly. Nice to meet you." I said. "How'd you know that Charizard was a fake?" Ash asked. "Donny plays that trick on me a lot, but I still win." I answered. The two others came up. "I'm Misty." the girl said. "And I'm Tracy." the boy added. "Nice to meet you all." smiled Holly. "Can I see my picture?" asked Gato. "Huh? Oh, hold on!" Tracy said. He got out his pad and began to draw again. Gato jumped down to the ground and got on his shoulder. She watched the drawing with interest. I smiled in awe. It was the first Gato had ever gone and sat on somebody's shoulder. Gato hates strangers and won't even go near my mom and dad. "Done!" said Tracy. Gato's eyes got big. "Wow! That's great!" she said. I went over and saw the picture. It was great. Gato was sitting in the picture on my shoulder. The whole thing looked real! "That's really nice! I liked to draw too." I said. "To you train Poke'mon?" asked Misty. "Of course! We both do." I answered. "I raise a lot, but only keep four with me." said Holly. "I have three more, not counting counting Gato." I said. "What kinds?" asked Ash. Gato jumped back onto my shoulder. I had an idea. "Tell ya what. Why don't you all come with me to my house and will get to know each other better." I suggested. "Sounds great!" said Tracy. "I'd love too!" agreed Ash. "Ash, what about our search. We came here only for you to capture that Tiger Of The Wind creature." Misty said with her hands on her hips. My heart stopped. How would they know? It wasn't a popular legend. "How'd you know?" I asked. "Joy at the Poke'mon Center said that it lived in the mountains here." answered Tracy. "It's only a legend though. How do you know its real?" Holly asked. "We don't. But I'm going to find that out. And I'll prove it by capturing it!" said Ash. "Pikachu!!" "Well, are you coming?" asked Gato. "Yeah!" said Ash. "But," Misty started but she decided to forget it. I gave them directions to my house and went home with the stuff. Mom said it would be okay and they could come anytime. I couldn't wait. Holly came over too to meet them some more. Gato, Holly and I did some drawings of Gato. Gato drew a pretty good picture of herself. I couldn't stop thinking about Tiger Of The Wind. If the legend was just a tall tail and was fake, how come more and more people were learning about it? Chapter 3 The Shocking Discovery The wind was blowing pretty hard when they got to my house. They said they had barely made it. I made a fire in the fireplace and warmed the house up. My parents and Grandma stayed upstairs with Ben and Lisa. The wind was strange outside and didn't sound quiet normal. We all visited and Tracy examined our draws we had done earlier. I got up in the middle of the conversion and went outside and shut the door behind me. I listened to the wind blow and let it blow back my long, brown hair. Suddenly, I herd a strange howling noise in the wind. It wasn't made by any wind and it was very faint. I got spooked and went back inside. "What's wrong?" asked Misty. "Why'd you go outside? It's freezing!" said Holly. I shrugged. "No reason." I lied. I sat down next to Holly on the couch and saw the wind whip threw the trees outside the window. "So, you all just came here to find Tiger Of The Wind?" asked Gato. "Pretty much. Why?" Ash asked. "Well, Sky, don't you have something about it? Tiger I mean." said Gato. I gave her a mean looked. I knew what she wanted me to do. Gato didn't noticed and went on "Sky has a book that has the legend of Tiger Of The Wind in it." "Really? Can you read it?" Misty asked me. I sighed. "Why the heck not." I said reluctantly. I went over to the book shelf and took out the huge book. I put it down on the table and opened it. The legend was already marked. I read it out loud and when I was finished, truned back to my friends. "Wow! Now it has to be real!" said Ash. "Piiiiii!!" Pikachu suddenly screamed in terror. We all looked over to see a book on top of Pikachu. A big one too. Gato jumped off the couch and lifted the book up, only to droop it on her paws and Pikachu's tail. "Pika-CCCCHHHHHHUUUU!" Pikachu shot a bolt of lightning threw the book and Gato. Both shocked and crisped, Gato fell over and Pikachu looked confused. "Pikachu! Don't shock Gato!" scowled Ash. I went over and picked the book up. A page was marked. "What book is it?" asked Tracy. "I don't know." I answered. I opened it to the marked page and saw a picture taken from a camera of a Wolflithe. Underneath the picture read, Tiger Of The Wind Taken by Rachel Coal (1999) Rachel took this shot just after she was killed by the pack of wild Poke'mon wolves, led by Tiger. Police found the camera and developed this picture. Experts believe that Rachel took the picture before her death to help people understand these creatures better. Police have planed to hunt down and kill Tiger and his pack on Feb. 5, 2000. Subject to change. I was frozen in place. "Sky? What does it say?" asked Holly, sounding concerned. "Look." I whispered. Everyone got up and looked at the picture. Even Gato, who was still a crisp. "That must mean that Tiger Of The Wind is real!" gasped Misty. "Rachel Coal? I've herd that name before." pondered Tracy. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers. "Rachel Coal was a famous Poke'mon photogerpher! She was known for her pictures and there pose's. Her last picture taken was of Tiger Of The Wind. Which is this one." Tracy said excitedly. I closed the book and yawned. "Well, maybe you all should go now. It's getting late." I said. "Yeah. My mom is going to crack if I don't get home." said Holly with a smile. They all went out the door but Misty stopped on her way out. She truned to me. "Sky? Would you like to come with us to the mountains tomorrow? Were going up there for two weeks." she said. I looked at Gato. She nodded. "Okay. Can Holly come?" I asked. She smiled warmly. "Of course. I'll ask her." Tracy suddenly came back. "Can I borrow that book?" he asked. I grabbed the book and gave it to him. "Sure! See you all tomorrow." I said. I saw them out and then shut the door behind them all. "Why'd I say yes." I sighed. "Face the facts, Sky. You want to know more about Tiger Of The Wind but just don't want to say so." said Gato. "Okay. Your right. Let's go to bed then." I answered. But if Gato was so right, how come I didn't feel right. I went up stairs with Gato and we climbed into bed. Gato curled herself on my pillow. Tomorrow we were going after the great Tiger Of The Wind. And I was scared. What if we end up like Rachel Coal? What if he turns out already dead? What if he was a fake? What if he was old and almost dead? All sorts of what if's where in my mind. But one stood out the most. What if we meet him face to face in person? By then, I was afraid. More than afraid, I was terrified. Chapter 4 The Journey Starts The next day, I got up early with Gato. I had talked to my mom last night and she said it was fine, but be careful. I packed a lot of things. We were going to stay up there for two weeks. I put cloths, blankets, meadicen for human and Poke'mon, badges, a pocket knife, a fire lighter, some pencils and paper, a camera, some books and food and water. For Gato and the rest of us. I fit it all in one backpack and threw it over my shoulder. I ate breakfast and kissed my family good bye. My mom was worried and my Grandma was proud. My dad was happy for me and Lisa and Ben were crying. They kept saying I was going to die. I left with Gato on my shoulder. It was a nice October day. The leaves where changing colors and falling all around. I let Gato off my shoulder to play in them. But once we got close to town, Gato jumped back on. And out of bad luck, we ran into Donny. "Where are you going brat?" he asked. His pack of friends where not there. Strange. "That is none of your business!" I snapped. Gato growled. "It is now." he said with a smirk. Suddenly, his friends surrounded me in a circle. "I told you you would be sorry. And I'm keeping my word." he sneered. "Back off!" I yelled. "Fat chance!" he yelled back. But suddenly, a Vaporeon knocked the friends away. Holly, Misty, Ash and Tracy all stood behind it. "Get out of her Donny, before I call the police!" yelled Holly. Donny got the message and they all left. "Thanks guys. I though they were going to get me. But I did have my Poke'mon." I said. "I could have taken them." said Gato. "By the way, which ones do you have?" asked Ash. "Well, I have an Arcanine, a Tigerlon, and a Cattric." I answered. Misty returned her Vaporeon. "I have a Raichu, a Ninetales, a Rapidash, and a Vaporeon." Holly said. "That's a great collection." said Tracy. "Come on! We need to get moving." said Misty. So we all hurried to a small house. "How are we going to travel up there?" I asked. Don't worry. I hired a guy to let us use his sled Growlithes. I am a good races, remember?" asked Holly. How could I forget. Holly was in more sled Growlithe races than anyone. She always won them too. Last year, a brat girl named Brooke, we have a lot of idiots in our town, said that she could beat Holly. Ha! Forget that! Her Growlithes were so fat and out of shape. I felt bad. But, holly had still won. We got to the small house. We entered and Holly talked to the man behind the desk. We soon got our sled team. They looked strong, health, and fast. The leader one up front was a very small Arcanine. It was about a foot taller than a full grown, real, wolf. Not Tiger. A real wolf. We have use to have a lot of real wolves, then they all ran away because of Tiger. Holly got on the runner, and the rest of us got on the actually sled with our stuff and Poke'mon. All Holly had to do was give commands and they listen. Unlike some sled trainers who use whips. Holly thinks that's cruel I do to. The team was heading into the wild mountains fast. I lied back, closed my eyes and was going to relax when Gato tapped me hard on the shoulder. I opened my eyes. "What?" I asked. "Look!" Gato sounded scared. We all looked over to see a pack of the wild Poke'mon wolves. They weren't Tiger's pack, it was one led by a Scale. Tiger's pack isn't the only one out here. They was a fight in the pack that had broken out between the lead Scale and a Fireburn. They were fighting for the mate, a Pink Wolf. The Fireburn looked young and health. The Scale leaped and clamped his jaws around the Fireburns throat. We stopped. I was too busy watching to really notices. The Scale refused to let go. Suddenly, the Fireburn caught him on the side of his head with his claw. It stab him right under the horn. He fell dead in a flash. Blood was staining the snow red very fast. Fireburns claw was red with blood. He snorted and went over to the Pink Wolf. They turned and ran away, with the pack behind him. The Scale was left to be eaten but something else or to rot away. "That's the law of the wild," I said as I looked at the three friends faces. "You eat or be eaten. Not question or comment." "Can we leave now?" asked Ash, the first one to speak of the three. "Mush!" hollered Holly. We went on. I had a feeling that soon we would have to find a spot to set up camp for the night. I was right. The sun went down early and we set up camp. We set a fire with the help of the Arcanine and let the Growlithes relax, but kept them in there harness. After dinner, we went to sleep. I was fast asleep with Gato curled up close next to me. Suddenly, a blood-cruling howl pierced though sky, waking me up. I was in a tent with Misty and Holly. Tracy and Ash slept in another. More howls joined in and suddenly stopped. A howl that I knew priced the night. Wind blew hard with the call. It was the call of Tiger Of The Wind. Chapter 5 Tiger Of The Wind "Gato! Gato! Wake up! Now!" I whispered, shaking Gato from her sleep. She rubbed her eyes. "What's wrong Sky?" she asked. "Listen!" I hushed. There was silent's Then, the howl again. Gato's ears twitched and her eyes got wide. "That's him! Tiger Of The Wind!" Gato said. "Can you hear how close?" I asked. Gato's ears moved again. "Nope. The howl is gone now." she answered. We both went back to sleep, but not after a while. The next morning, we packed up and got ready to leave. I told the others what had happened as we rode the sled. "That must have been a warning cry." said Tracy. "A what?" asked Ash and Misty and the same time. "Pika?" "I herd that the Wolf Type Family, in the wild anyway, will always give out a warning cry to warn the creatures around them that there is going to be a kill soon." explained Tracy. "Good job, Tracy. Just get us all terrified." said Holly. "Sorry. It's just a theory." said Tracy. Suddenly, a huge bolt of lighting struck the ground in front of the Arcanine. He stopped and made a sharp left turn. All the Growlithes fell onto each other and the sled over turned. We all tumbled off but I was the first one standing up. Then, there he was. Standing right there. Tiger Of The Wind. He stood in front of the over truned sled a few feet away. Next to him on the right was his brother, Gray Wolf and on the left was Jessy. His pack was behind him. There was some Scales, Pink Wolfs, Fireburns, Feathers, Tropicals, Clears, Fairys and one Ghost. The others stood up. "He's real. He's not a legend." I whispered. "Well, got get it Ash." said Misty. Tiger had a mane like thing and two gray horns on his head with little rings around them. He also had mean red eyes. He had dark blue zig-zags that stopped and turned into light blue and then zig-zaged to stop and leave white. He also had a red scar from his forehead to below the corner of his mouth. Gray Wolf looked the same as Tiger except that he had no scar and was dark gray, gray and light gray. His horns were solid gray like his body. He had blue eyes and was growling at us. Jessy was very pretty. She had the same gray horns with the rings as the other two. She had two tails and wings. The feathers on the wings were gold and the part where the feathers connect to make the wing were light brown. Her back and the fur around her neck were red. The red color, as you went down the body, turned orange. It then zigzagged to leave all four legs white and at the zigzagged part was a little bit of yellow to highlight the zigzagged part. Her two tails went from red to orange also and have the same yellow highlight at the zigzagged part to leave white at the tip. She also growled at us. "I'm going to capture it!" said Ash. "No! Let's see if it even wants to attack." I said. "I want to attack. I'll kill each one of you and eat you alive." growled Tiger in a clam, low voice. "It talks!" cried Misty. "Another one that can talk! Amazing!" said Tracy. He began to draw fast. Tiger growled. "I'm ready." he said. "We don't want to fight you." said Holly. "But we do!" growled Jessy. Her voice was very pretty. So, he wanted to fight did he? "You want to fight us, great Tiger Of The Wind?" I asked. The look he shot me struck fear through my whole body. "I want to kill you if that's what you mean." he said. Suddenly, Tiger leaped at me. Gato jumped at him and slashed him hard on the face with her tail. He fell back to the ground and Gato landed back on my shoulder. Tiger got up. His pack was growling. "You want to protect your lives that are going to be gone anyway? Be my guest. You want to test my power? Capture me? Forget it. You have to be pretty stupid to try." Tiger said. "Never, Tiger Of The Wind, underestimate your enemies." I shot back. With that, I threw two Pokeballs. "Tigerlon! Cattric! Gato! Go!" I yelled. Gato jumped off my shoulder and landed in the snow on her two legs. The two white lights formed my two Poke'mon. Cattric looked like a cheetah with little black lightning bolts instead of spots. Tigerlon looked like a plan orange and black tiger. He had long, long claws and sharp, sharp fangs. Fire surrounded his wrist on all four legs. The bottom of his tail to the tip is fire and so is his back and stomach. His ears are as well. His strips are fire shape but are black. Ash pointed forward. "Go get Tiger Pikachu!" Ash ordered. Pikachu jumped down and landed next to Gato. Tiger smirked. "The all for one attack, huh?" he said coolly. "We can do that too!" growled Gray Wolf. "That's alright brother. I can take care of them." said Tiger. Gray Wolf and Jessy stood all the way back with the pack. Tiger attacked first. He leaped striate at Cattric. Was he playing dumb or was he really? Everyone knows that Cattric is the fastest Poke'mon ever to live. Cattric zipped away easily and Tiger hit the snow. Ash saw a chance. "Thunder Bolt!" He ordered. Sparks flew from Pikachu's cheek's. "Pika-CCCCCHHHHHHUUUUUU!!" he cried, sending out a huge bolt of lightning. Tiger was also fast. He jumped away and the lightning bolt hit the snow and caused electricity to fly off the ground and rest. Tiger stood next to the burnt spot on the snow. "You have to be faster than that." growled Tiger. "If you want. Cattric, use your Thunder Rage!" I ordered. Cattric jumped into the air and glowed yellow. Then the yellow glow disappeared and only her spots glowed yellow. Sparks flew from her body as she became charged. Tiger grinned. "He has something up his sleeve. Be careful." warned Misty. Cattric suddenly burst with lightning bolts. They shot every where and then hit there target. Tiger was hit and shocked good. Cattric landed behind Tiger and Tiger collapsed to the ground. Cattric and Tigerlon growled a warning and Gato and Pikachu looked ready to jump at him. Tiger staggered up on his feet and jumped back and over Cattric to now face them all. Two small glowing blue balls appeared and the end of each horn. "Take this! Torpedo!!" Tiger cried. Tiger shot little blue lightning bolts out his horns at our Poke'mon They were all hit. Tiger fired at them again. Pikachu, Gato and Cattric jumped into the air above Tiger. Pikachu and Cattric glowed yellow and sparks flew from there body. Gato formed a small yellow ball of light in her paws. Tigerlon didn't jump. He ducked the blast instead and attacked from the neck. He rose his head back and then forward, sending out a stream of fire. It hit Tiger on the neck. At the same time, Cattric and Pikachu shoot lightning bolts at Tiger and hit him. Gato shot a yellow stream of light at Tiger and hit him. When the attacks stopped, Tiger was gone. "I'm too quick for your Poke'mon!" said Tiger. I looked over to where his pack stood. Tiger was there with them. He had gotten hit by the flame from Tigerlon but not from the other attacks. "I won't let you leave now. You will be killed and eaten. Until I attack again, so long!" said Tiger. He truned and ran throw the snow and away from us and the over truned sled. His pack followed close behind. I returned Cattric and Tigerlon and Gato jumped back on my shoulder. Pikachu was with Ash. "If that's Tiger just warming up, I don't even want to see him when he gets going." said Misty. "Too bad. Were not leaving." said Holly. "Not if I can help it! I'll capture him!" said Ash. "Not unless he captures you first." said Tracy darkly. "Pika." "He's stubborn." snorted Gato. "Help with the sled." said Holly. I stood where I was and watched the spot were Tiger had been. Misty was right about that. But the problem was, we had no choice now. We were going to see him in full attack mode whether we liked it or not because we were the pray and he was the predator. And in the book, the predator always wins. Chapter 6 The Attack That Killed "I still say we scram. We can't afford to stay here. It's our lives were dealing with. Not a good thing to juggle." said Gato. "Pikachu." Pikachu nodded in agreement. We were all sitting around our camp fire together talking about what to do. Our tents were behind us and the sled and Growlithes and the Arcanine were sleeping in there own tent. I wanted to stay, but not with the risk of our life being in danger. "We don't have to leave. We can just be really careful." said Ash. "Your crazy! Tiger and his pack know this place more than us. If were lost and helpless, they can attack on surprise." said Misty, who was wrapped up in a blanket. "You both have points, but we can't leave anyway. So I guess were stuck here either way." I sighed. "That's true, but we could try." said Holly. "Only if we wanted to lose an arm or a leg." growled Gato. "I wonder, what could humans have done to make them so mad at us?" asked Tracy. "Good point. Go try and ask him that." said Gato. "Gato! Be nice." I snapped. Gato rolled her eyes and sighed. She doesn't like to listen to me, but dose. Misty yawned. "I tired. Let's go to sleep. We can talk it out in the morning." she said, standing up. "If we see the morning that is." mumbled Gato. Holly, Misty and I got up with Gato and went into our tent. Ash and Tracy with Pikachu went in another. Misty took her hair of of its side ponytail and let it down. My hair was always down with a black headband on to pull back by hair from my face. I crawled into my sleeping bag between Misty and Holly and rolled on my back. Gato jumped on my stomach and purred loudly. Finally, she went to sleep. I was still thinking. What had humans done to Tiger? I finally fell asleep. Little did I know, my answers were about to come the next day. The next morning, there was hard rain. So we stayed in our tents until about noon, when it stopped. Then, we were off. On a mission, to get out of here, help Tiger, and try not to get killed. Boy, was that hard to do all at once and in one day but with no choice, we where stuck. The sled moved easily along through the woods. The woods seemed dark, even at noon. I wasn't the only one in our group who felt uneasy about the forest. "Maybe we shouldn't go into the woods. I mean, it still is dark out from the rain clouds and if it starts to rain, were doomed." said Misty. "You always think we should wait." answered Ash. "And you always think we should jump in head first. If you had your way, we'd be dead already!" snapped Misty. "Not true! I think that if we wait tomorrow, Tiger and his pack will have us killed by then!" Ash yelled back. "Says who?" Misty yelled. Pikachu covered his ears and Tracy broke them up. "Now look you two, we are going into the woods and probable be out before dark. So stop arguing over it." Tracy said. Pikachu uncovered his ears and sighed in relief. The two truned away from each and said nothing. Gato looked confused. "There friends?" she asked. I giggled to hold back my laugh. "Yes. There closer friends than you think." I said. "How? How can they be close friends when they can't even be just friends?" Gato asked. She was trying to make it to complicated than it already was. "Never mind Gato. I'll explain it later." I said. "But I want to know!" Gato whinnied. "Later!" "Fine." And the rest of the way was quiet as we ran through the forest. The only noise was the panting of Growlithes, the sled on the snow and the paws on the ground. I watched the trees go by and Gato finally went to play with Pikachu, who ended up shocking her several times. Suddenly, the sled jerked to a stop. I was almost thrown off. I looked up at Holly. "Why'd you stop?" I asked. "I didn't. Arcanine did." she answered. There was a hint of fear in her voice. I looked up ahead. Arcanine had stopped and so had the Growlithes, but I couldn't see why. Ash got off the sled and went up to the front. Pikachu followed close behind. I followed with Gato. The Arcanine was growling and looking around. Some of the Growlithes were whimpering and some were growling and others were barking. Holly, Tracy and Misty came up behind us. "I have no idea what's wrong." said Ash. Pikachu hopped up to the Arcanine. Gato followed. "Pika pika pikachu pika pi pi chu?" The Arcanine made so barks and growls. "He says he herd a noise in the woods. A twig snapped and then a growl followed my a howl." Gato said. Pikachu nodded and I shot Holly and nervous look. "You don't think that, that Tiger and his pack are here?" I asked. "I have no idea, but let's leave anyway." said Holly. We were too late to walk away and too slow on who was there. Tiger came leaping from the trees. He missed me and Holly, but smacked into Misty. They both fell to the ground and Tiger jumped up with speed and grace and faced her growling. She was on her feet but Tiger would easily get her. Suddenly, the Arcanine on the sled barked and lunged forward. This caused his harness to become unfashioned and able him to come loose. He charged, full power, at Tiger. WHAM!! A hit! Tiger rolled back in the snow, sense less. Arcanine is a very powerful and fast fire type. Tiger lacked the strength in muscle, but Tiger was not with out a pack. Gray Wolf and Jessy suddenly leaped from the trees at us. Pikachu was quicker. "Pika-CCCCHHHHHHUUUUUU!!" Lightning bolts everywhere. Gray Wolf and Jessy hit the ground, lifeless. "Let's get out of here!" I cried. But before we knew it, the whole pack had surrounded us. Tiger, Gray Wolf and Jessy were back on there feet and advanceing toward us. We stood together. I was glad to see Misty was okay from the attack, but where was the Arcanine? He had disappeared with the lightning blast. "Well, well. You have a mighty spirit and don't give up easily. I will grant you that before I tear through you sink!" growled Tiger. He leaped at us again. WHAM!! Gato was first. She slammed hard into him. He was thrown to the ground. "You are as stubborn as they come." said Jessy. Her voice was pretty, yet this time it had a sound of evil. "Why do you fight us, when you are going to lose?" asked Gray Wolf, his voice in more of a strange way, I can't explain. "We aren't going to lose. You are!" yelled Misty. "No one can predict who wins, until they do!" Tracy yelled. "That's a pretty nice saying, coming from a human!" growled Gray Wolf. He leaped. Gato leaped at him and whipped him hard with her tail. He landed on the ground, hard with a sickening thud. Tiger was up. "Fight all you want, but in the end you are ours." Tiger said calmly even through he was getting his butt kicked. "Why? Why are you doing this to us when we aren't the humans who did whatever they did to you?" I asked. Wrong question. Definitely a wrong question. He looked at me with such hate and sadness, that I knew I was going to get it. Before he could attack, a stream of fire hit him. The Arcanine was back and he threw himself at Tiger. They went into a horrid battle. The pack joined in. This was our chance. We all ran to the sled and jumped on. "There not strong enother! They need a leader!" cried Holly over the battle. "My Arcanine is too big!" I yelled. "Just do it!" Tracy yelled. "What about the Arcanine?" asked Ash. No one answered because I threw the Pokeball. It opened and Arcanine appeared. "Arcanine! Pull the sled away from here!" I ordered. He nodded and was able to put on the harness. I guess he wasn't that big, but it was still way too loose and could fall off. Gato saw this and ran to him. She pulled all the straps tight and Arcanine took off full speed. I herd a crying yelp. I looked back to see the other Arcanine running to catch up with the sled. We all saw it. "We have to slow down for it." said Ash to me. "We can't. The pack is right on his trail. It he get's on, the pack will to." I said. I felt sick saying that. "But..." Ash didn't finish. Instead, there was a yelp and a sharp cry. I looked back to see that the Arcanine was gone and the pack was all over him. I looked away and herd more growls and yelps and then no more. I knew it then. The pack was not messing around. They had killed a Poke'mon that tried to fight them. He had died and if we continued to fight them, so would we. I let Arcanine stop and walk a little while. "I can't believe it. I let that poor Arcanine get killed." I said. "You had too. It was the right thing." said Tracy. Suddenly, there was a howl. I truned around. Tiger can charging at us, full speed. His pack was eating that Arcanine and that's way they weren't with him, but Jessy and Gray Wolf were on his side. "Go! Mush!" cried Holly. The sled took off, but we had gotten a late start. Tiger and his two members were gaining fast. "They really aren't giving up." said Misty. I saw the sun was almost gone and it was getting dark. We had to lose them. Gray Wolf suddenly came up to one of the Growlithes pulling the sled. "Oh no you don't! Your not getting another one! Arcanine, Flamethrower, now!" I cried. Arcanine looked back over his right shoulder and shot a blast of flame out his mouth. Gray Wolf leaped and the flame blew right past. Luckily, my Arcanine doesn't give up after one shot one miss. He fired again. Gray Wolf leaped again. Another miss! Arcanine kept shooting. I suddenly saw Jessy coming up on Arcanine. I made my way over to the end of the sled with Gato. "Gato, fire your Ray attack at Jessy." I said. "Right!" Gato agreed. A little glowing yellow ball of light appeared in her front paws. From that ball, a little long stream of yellow light shot out and hit Jessy's wing. She skidded to a halt and tripped over her wing that was dragging from the hit. She hit the snow face first. Gray Wolf stopped and went over to help her. Tiger kept running after us. Suddenly, there was a gun shot and a bullet pierced the ground in front of Tiger. He stopped and quickly turned around. Him, Jessy and Gray Wolf ran away, fast. More gun shots fired and suddenly, Tiger was hit. He collapsed to the side. Jessy and Gray Wolf stopped to help, but a bullet drove them away. Mean Poke'mon or not, he wasn't going to be killed by hunters. I saw them. Three guys. "Arcanine! Turn around and go back!" I yelled. Arcanine began to make and turn around a big tree. I raised Arcanine from a little puppy Growlithe and he'll do anything for me. Even go back towards danger. "What are you doing!?" yelled Ash. "Tiger was shot." I answered. "So!?" cried Ash. "So were going to help him." I answered. "Sorry Sky, but I'm turning them around." said Holly. "No! Arcanine, burn those men!" I cried. I had to hurry before Holly truned us away. Arcanine shot a blast of flame form his mouth. It hit the three guys and they ran off crying and screaming. Arcanine came to a stop so Holly couldn't turn them around. I got off and went over to Tiger. His back right leg was bleeding and the snow around him was red with blood. Arcanine helped me get Tiger onto the sled. With that, my friends jumped off the sled. "Are you crazy!? What are you doing!?" cried Misty. "I'm helping Tiger. I don't care what he did, he's a living thing and will not be killed no matter how mean." I said. "Let us know if you lose an arm." said Gato. Pikachu suddenly run up to the sled on four legs and jumped on with me. He nodded and I smiled. "Pikachu trust's me. You don't have to trust me, but at least stop that. I promise I'll keep him away from us." I said. Everyone looked at each other. "Fine with us, Sky." said Misty. I smiled and everyone climbed back onto the sled. We hooked Arcanine on and went off on a slow, steady pace. The Growlithes were still tired from the run. Everyone sat far away from Tiger expect me and Pikachu. I wrapped him in a blanket and let him rest. I put a bandage on his hurt leg until we set up camp and I could help him better. The pray was now helping the predator. I wonder if that's in the book? Chapter 7 The Healing Touch We all sat around the camp fire. Ash, Misty, Tracy, Holly, Gato, Pikachu and I. Tiger was in his own tent resting. I had put all kinds of healing stuff on him and he was sleeping. I was afraid to find out what he would be like when he woke up, but I didn't say anything. Arcanine was also back in his Pokeball to rest. We had checked Misty and she was fine, but I still had a feeling that she had hurt something somewhere that she just hadn't really found yet. Either that or she wasn't telling us. We had talked awhile and it was about eleven o' clock when Misty yawned. "I'm getting tired. Sky, were did you put Tiger?" she asked. "In another tent, don't worry." I said. "What about a cage?" asked Tracy. "Trust me, we'll be up before him." I said. "How do you know?" asked Gato. "Some medicen I gave him had stuff that will keep him to sleep longer." I said. "I think we should all go to sleep." said Holly rubbing her eye. Misty stood up and suddenly collapsed. Holly and Ash were at her side in a flash. Misty was sitting on the ground holding her ankle. Tracy and I came over. "Misty, are you alright?" Ash asked. "I, I think I hurt my ankle." she said. "I knew you hurt something. Tiger really did do a good job knocking you down." I said. "Come on. We'll take you to the tent and I'll help you." said Holly. With Ash's and Holly's help, Misty was able to get into the tent. Ash and Tracy left with Pikachu while we helped Misty. We discovered that she had three bad scratch marks on her back that were bleeding badly. We healed her up and she sat up in her sleeping bag. Gato came up to her. "I don't understand?" she said. "Understand what?" asked Misty. "Well, you argue all the time, but when you got hurt you seemed like friends." "Who?" "You and Ash." "Oh! Uh, were friends. We just argue a lot." Holly and I looked away and tried not to laugh. "But, I don't' see how anyone can be friends when they argue a lot." said Gato. I deiced to help Misty. "Gato, come on know. Misty needs her rest and so do you." I said. Gato shrugged and went over to me. Soon, we were all asleep. They next morning. I got up first and went to go check on Tiger. I approached the tent slowly and peeked in. He wasn't awake yet, but he would be soon. Maybe I should have put him in a cage. When he wakes up, he's going to be raging mad. He hates humans more than anything and when he learns that he's with humans, he'll go crazy. I slowly walked in and sat down next to him. He was very beautiful as he slept peacefully. That was the first time I noticed a scar. It was a red scar that started in the middle of his forehead, ran down past is right eye in a zig- zag way, and stopped under the right end of his mouth or the right corner of his mouth. I felt uneasy. The story had told of this scar from a fight with one of the Scales, but maybe the book didn't know the truth. Maybe humans did it to him. I also feared that Jessy and Gray Wolf had seen us take him and were planing to attack us to save him. Suddenly, Tiger stirred. He was waking up. I held my breath and slowly backed away, but stayed on the ground. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at me. I saw it coming. He jumped up with a snarl on his face and growled. He advanced towards me and pushed me back. "How dare you bring me to your human camp!" he yelled with rage. Tiger leaped and I moved out of the way. He almost fell to the ground in pain but didn't give up. "Don't act like that, Tiger! We saved you! You could have been killed by those hunters if we weren't there!" I yelled back. He's snarl disappeared and he stopped growling. He lay down on his belly with a heavy sigh. "So, you saved me from hunters did you? After what I did to you?" he asked. I relaxed a little and sat down a few feet away facing him. "Yes. You are a living creature. Mean or not, you don't deserve to be killed by hunters. Now, you rest. I'll begin you food later." I said. I stood up and was about to leave when Tiger stopped me. "You know I don't trust you kid and I never will. You may help me, but I will still plan to kill you when I am better." Tiger said. This got me mad. Very mad. We had just saved his life and he still plans on killing us!? I knew it was a mistake, but I wasn't thinking. I truned around to look at him. "Whatever humans did must have made you ruthless! We save your life and you still want to kill us!?" I cried. Tiger growled and went into a snarl. "Yes! I will kill you! I don't care if you took a bullet for me! I would still kill you!" he growled. I said nothing. I stormed out of the tent to find everyone up. "Well, what happened?" asked Misty. "Did you loose an arm?" asked Gato. I sat down next to Gato and sighed. "He'll let us help him, but when we release him he is still going to kill us." I said. "What!?" everyone cried. Pikachu shook his head and ran to the middle of the circle we sat in. He stood next to the fire that glowed and the pot that cooked over it. Pikachu began to wave his hands around as he talked. "Pika pika! Pikachu chu pi pi chu chaa! Pika Pikachu! Pika pika pika! Pi pi chu!" "Pikachu says that we have to get Tiger to trust us. We can do that and heal him, put him to sleep and get out of here. If we pass up the chance, we could stay here forever." translated Gato. Ash stood up. "That's it! We drug Tiger to make him sleep and then split! It's perfect! Good job Pikachu!" said Ash. "Not so fast. I'm going to take Tiger and put his head on my wall!" said a voice. We all looked over and saw Donny and two other guys. His friends. They all had guns. "What do you want?" I asked. We all stood up. Donny raise his gun and pointed it at us. "Tiger Of The Wind. Give him to us, now!" he said. We all froze. "Never, Donny. I will never give you Tiger." I said. I sounded braver than I felt. Donny smiled and lowered his gun. "Then we'll do this the hard way." he said. He nodded to his two friends. They went over to the first tent and fired there guns. The whole tent collapsed and smoked with gun holes in it. They shot it more than once and went over to the next tent. Tiger was in the third tent and couldn't run or fight them off, but then maybe, he could. "Tiger! Get out of there now!" I cried. I grabbed a Pokeball and threw it. Arcanine appeared and landed in front of the two guys advance towards the second tent. Suddenly, Tiger made a run and sprinted out of the tent. They all raised there guns, but Gato was on them. She leaped and landed on one of the guys face. She slashed hard and good. He screamed and yelled to his partner to get it off. Gato leaped off his face before the other guy hit her and instead hit the guy. They both fell to the floor. Arcanine charged and blew fire out his mouth and hit them all. They were all on fire. Our chance. Tiger was in the snow panting. "Get on the sled! Quickly!" called Holly. We all scrambled onto the sled. I got next to Tiger. "I took a bullet for you." I whispered. He looked at me and then truned away. Arcanine was hooked and we tore off, leaving all our stuff behind. We went a little ways and then stopped and waited for a while. We then went back to our camp. They were gone and our stuff was fine. I then realized we only had two tents. We packed up and were on our way again. That's when I brought it up. "Guys, we only have two tents. Tiger is going to have to share a tent with someone." I said. "He shares it with you." said Ash and Tracy at the same time. "He shares it with you." said Misty and Holly at the same time back to them. Pikachu scratched his head and Gato crossed her arms. Tiger snorted. "I'm not sharing a tent with anyone." he said. "Okay. Tiger had volunteered to sleep outside. It's settled." said Tracy. "Oh shut up! He's not sleeping outside." I said. "Hey! Look! Up ahead!" said Misty. We all looked to see a river that ran along with then snow. "That's a great spot to fill our water bottles." said Holly. "Arcanine, stop!" I said. Arcanine came to a stop by the river. I went over to the river with the others. Tiger lay on the sled and snorted and Misty had to keep on it. I was almost to the river when I looked up to see a Scale. A very big Scale. He looked at me with ice cold eyes. We all froze to look at him. Then, he was gone as quickly as he had came. "Tiger, how did you get that scar?" I asked as I filled my bottle with water. Tiger trotted up next to me. He was thirst and I guess was not about to take water from humans. His leg was better and he could now walk. The others had taken the sled down the river more and I was left with Tiger. Even Gato didn't want to be close to him, but he didn't scare me any more. I knew he had a soft heart, but wouldn't show it. Tiger took a long gulp of water before answering my question. "I was in a fight with a Scale. He was in my pack and he challenged me. I won and threw him out." he answered. "What happened to that Scale?" I asked. "I haven't a clue." Tiger lowered his head and began to drink some more. I suddenly herd a splash and looked up. So did Tiger. A fish had splashed. I then saw a bunch of fish. "Hey! Fish! Let's go fishing!" I said. Tiger snorted and began to walk away. "What's wrong?" I asked. "It's not right. That river is to close to Poison's' territory." Tiger said. "Poison?" I asked. "The Scale that battled me. His name was Poison. He started a pack of his own and lives around here." Tiger explained. "So you did know what happened to him." I said. Tiger nodded and began to walk to the sled. "Listen Tiger," I said. He stopped. "If were going to help you, your going to have to tell us the truth. You don't have to like me our anyone else, but be truthful. We at least want to die knowing that you told us the truth." Tiger said nothing. The wind blew lightly around him and he suddenly raised his noise to the air. He sniffed and then truned towards me. "Get your friends. Poison is about to attack." Chapter 8 Poison's End "Everyone! Get over here! Hurry!" I called. They all came with water and the sled. "There is another pack of Poke'mon wolves here that is about to attack. We need to leave." I said. "Say no more. Let's go." said Ash. We were to late. Scale's from every angle jumped and surrounded us and the sled. Tiger growled and the lead Scale, Poison, stepped in front of him. "Tiger Of The Wind, taking help from humans? I thought I'd never see the day." Poison growled. Tiger snarled and growled back. "Back off!" he warned. "Temper, temper. You should be more thankful. I came here to kill these humans for you." he said shyly. He had a voice, a shyly, tricky voice. He was definitely up to no good. "How can I trust you?" asked Tiger. "You can't. I plan to kill you too." he answered. The whole pack tensed and growled. The Growlithes and my Arcanine all growled back. Tiger snarled. "You should quit while your ahead! You don't know who your up agasined." growled Tiger. Poison made a tisk-tisk noise. "Araguncie is a terribly curse. You shouldn't take pride in something you haven't proved." Poison smirked. I knew something was about to come, but I stayed silent. This was an old rival battle. I could tell. "So, what will it be great Tiger Of The Wind? Without your pack, you are a normal Poke'mon like us. Will you excepted my challenge or will you run away with your human friends, like a coward and let me kill you all?" Poison asked. He had a evil glint in his eye. Tiger eyed Poison's pack that was tensed and ready to leap. He then eyed us. Looking at Arcanine and the Growlithes, ready to fight for us. He looked back at Poison. Scale's are small compared to Wolflithe's, which is what Tiger was, but Poison was big. About the size of Tiger, maybe bigger. How could Tiger expect to win with him so weak. His moved surprised me. He leaped full force at Poison and smacked into him. Hurt leg or no hurt leg. Poison rolled across the snow. His whole pack looked ready to tear Tiger apart, but they didn't move. "I, Tiger Of The Wind, except your challenge, Poison. You will soon see that there is a reason they call me, Tiger Of The Wind." he said smoothly. Poison growled and leaped off the snow. He tackled Tiger and Tiger was able to push him off. I went over with the others. "Should we help?" asked Gato climbing on my shoulder. "No. This is an old rival battle." I answered. "Ash should know what it is." teased Misty from the sled. "Oh shut up." mumbled Ash. Gato cocked her head and Pikachu giggled. "Good luck, Tiger." said Holly. We then all focused on the battle. Tiger had Poison pinned to the ground. Poison counter attacked by slashing him across the face. Tiger growled in pain and got off him, rubbing his snout. Poison saw his chance and leaped. He slammed into Tiger and sent him rolling to close to the lake. Poison got ready to leap again, but Tiger was to quick. Two small, glow, blue balls appeared at the end of his horns. "Torpedo!!" he cried. A bunch of small, blue, lightning bolts shot out his horns at Poison. He jumped away and they hit the ground, making the snow black from the burn. Poison landed next to the spot. "So, you want to use attacks. Take this! Poison Darts!!" Poison yelled. He leaped into the air and opened his mouth wide. He then began to shoot a bunch of little blue darts out his mouth at Tiger. Tiger leaped into the air and the darts pierced the ground. They both landed in front of one another. Tiger lashed at Poison with his jaws, but missed. Poison had jumped to one side. Tiger growled a warning. Two huge, blue glowing balls appeared at the tip of each horn. They were big. "Mega Torpedo!!" he cried. Two huge, blue lightning bolts shot out and hit Poison. He was down. Suddenly, Poison was up. He made a sudden jump into the air and spun around in circles really fast. He became a purple blur. "One-Two!!" He came and slammed hard into Tiger. Tiger went flying thought the air and landed on his back in the stream. he hit his head hard on a rock in the process. He didn't move. The water truned red. "Tiger! Get up!" I cried. Poison had landed on the ground and was advancing towards him. "Now for the finish." he hissed. Suddenly, wind whipped around Tiger and the water. Poison stopped in his tracks. Tiger's eyes were open and he was up. He leaped out of the water and right in front of Poison. Water dripped from his fur mixed with blood. He leaped full force and bit down hard on Poison's throat. He slammed Poison into the snow with a death hold on his throat. Blood stained the snow around them as Poison slashed Tiger desperately and Tiger hung on to Poison's throat. Tiger finally let go, his teeth and mouth red. Poison staggered back and the wind began to whip around Tiger again. Tiger looked at Poison striate in the eyes. "There's a reason they call me Tiger Of The Wind. And here it is! Roar!!" he cried Tiger opened his mouth and a burst of wind came out. It was stronger than a hurrican. It hit Poison full force and sent him flying back. He slammed into a rock and blood splattered the ground. Poison flopped lifeless on the snow in a puddle of blood. He didn't move and never would. There was silent's expected for the wind blowing. Tiger kept a mean, snarled look. He walked up to Poison's dead body and looked down at him. "That, is why they call me Tiger Of The Wind." he growled. Poison's pack suddenly was gone. They fled in a yelping panic. Tiger turned, wind still blowing around him. He walked back and stopped at my side. "Let's go." he said. He walked past and jumped onto the sled with Misty. Bloody and wet, he sat tall with the wind. All my friends slowly went back and Gato whispered in my ear. "That is why he will never change, Sky. That is why." she whispered. Gato jumped off my shoulder and followed the others. I went over and covered Poison's dead body in snow. I knew they were all staring at me, but I didn't care. We then went on, in silent's. That night, I lay outside in my sleeping bag. Tiger lay a few feet away. He agreed to sleep outside. No one knew I had sneaked out in the middle of the night and lied out here. I don't think they wanted me right then, but refused to say it. I looked up at the clear starry sky. They were right. Tiger would never change. He would be ruthless and killing until someone killed him. That would either be Donny or my dad. My dad because of rage that he killed me, which he still planed. "Are you shocked?" came Tiger's sudden voice. I didn't answer. I really didn't want to right now. "So, your mad. After all this trying to help me, your mad?" he asked. "I was trying to change you." I finally answered. He truned to me. "What?" "I was trying to teach you to trust others and not only who you look like. If I didn't change you, you would be killed by hunters because of there rage. I now see, that it's impossible to change a ruthless killer that wants nothing but revenge." I said. "You have know idea what humans did to me." "What? What could they have down that was so bad?" Tiger turned away. "You wish." he snorted. I sighed. He would never change. No matter what. But in some wired way, deep with in, I felt that if I tried hard enough, he would. He would change. For the better only. Chapter 9 A Change For the Better Only The next morning, all my friends were in shock and worry that I had slept outside. They joked with me and made me laugh as we traveled along in the sled. Arcanine was at the lead and was enjoying the leadership. My friends had, I guess, felt bad for me and were making me feel better. "You could have died of, of some unknown disease that we could have been rich and famous from discovering it. Hey! That's a good thing! Why didn't you?" asked Gato who sat in my lap. I laughed. "Maybe because we wouldn't be famous. We would be put in jail for murder." answered Holly. "But we didn't kill her. The unknown disease that we could have been rich and famous from discovering it would have killed her." said Gato. "Pika?" Pikachu scratched his head. I laughed at it all. My friends were great. Arcanine was suddenly beginning to race full speed ahead. He ran so fast, that the Growlithes had a hard time keeping up. Tiger was annoyed at us because of our laughing. He was trying to sleep and couldn't because of us. No one took him seriously until he almost knocked Pikachu off the sled. When he was asleep, we laughed and joked so more. That's when I saw it. A sign that would change Tiger's trust. "Arcanine! Stop!" I yelled. Arcanine slowed down and came to a halt right next to the sign. I saw it clearly now. Little black words were on it under a huge red warning sign. It read, WARNING: Thin ice ahead. Change course. "Thin ice. Great." sighed Tracy. "I have a question." asked Gato. "What?" I asked. "Well, where are we going?" No one said anything. "To, uh, find Tiger's pack." said Misty. At hearing his name, he woke up and sat up. "I give up on sleeping." he sighed. "So he can kill us?" asked Ash. "Yeah. I guess." said Holly. "That's really good." said Gato. Pikachu nodded. "So, how do we get across?" asked Ash. "Easy. You go across really slow. One of you has to lead the sled." answered Tiger. "He's trying to kill us!" cried Gato. She jumped behind me. Tiger rolled his eyes and sighed. he jumped off the sled and walked to the ice. "I am not. I do it all the time with my pack. Trust me on this." he said. "How? Your trying to kill us so how come we don't know you are now?" asked Gato. "Because I want the pleasure of ripping you to shreds myself, not see you drowned." he answered. "Well, who leads the sled then?" I asked. Everyone pointed at me. I sighed and walk in front of Arcanine. "Now just follow me." I told him. "I'll lead you. Just follow." Tiger told me. So we all went out on the ice. I followed Tiger and he seemed to know where to step. I followed is foot steps and stepped where he did. No one talked. Around the middle of the ice, the Growlithes go nervous and began to whimper as they walked, but we kept going. "Tiger, why are you helping us get across?" I asked. "You don't think I herd you? Your trying to find my pack for me, right? So, this way is the right way, I can smell my pack." he answered. I nodded. Some how, I don't think that was all. I herd a helicopter flying near by. "So, you really still plan on killing us?" I asked. "Duh. Why would I change my mind?" he shot back. "I don't know. Maybe because we helped you and brought you back to yourself." I said. Suddenly, the helicopter flew over and with it, a gun shot struck in front of Tiger. The ice made a noise. We all looked up and I reconised the helicopter. "It's Donny. He's shooting at us!" I cried. "Perfect." Tiger answered. Another gun shot nearly missed the sled. "What is Donny doing!? He's going to kill us too!?" cried Holly. "He has a mental problem." shrugged Gato. "Follow me and keep up the pace!" Tiger yelled. He began to walk fast and almost into a run. I was close behind, making sure I didn't lose his steps. The helicopter flew over again and more gun shots were fired. The bullets pierced the ice each time and each time they did, the ice made a funny noise. Suddenly, they was a loud crack that sounded like thunder. All the Growlithes yelped and froze. Arcanine and I pulled and they walked again. Tiger had stopped and wasn't moving. "What's wrong?" I asked. "The ice. It broke." he answered. "Run?" I asked. "Run!" he yelled. He tore off into and run. I let Arcanine run past and I was able to jump on the sled as it past. "What's going on?" asked Misty. "The ice broke. We have to get off and fast." I answered almost out of breath. I herd the ice crack and make more loud noise's as more bullet's hit it. The helicopter kept circling and wouldn't leave. I got an idea as the helicopter turned its back on us to turn around once more. "Arcanine! Flamethrower the back of the helicopter!" I ordered. Arcanine raise his head and blew a stream of fire out his mouth at the helicopter. A direct hit! The helicopter sagged in the air and dropped like a stone. But we weren't out of the woods yet. The ice was cracking and cracks were forming up and chasing us. Arcanine was good at keeping up with Tiger, but Tiger was still faster. I saw the end, but then something happened. There was a huge crack and the sled suddenly tilted to the left. Arcanine and the Growlithes were pulled violently as the sled jerked to a stop. They pulled as the sled began to sink into the ice cold water. "Get off!" I cried. We all jumped onto the ice. Tiger came to a stop and saw us. He ran over. I scrambled over to the harness and undid the one harness on the sled. They all tore off, still together but not on the sled. The sled sunk faster and suddenly, the hole expanded. It went right under my feet and were I sat. CRACK!! There came the noise and before I knew it, I had fell into the ice cloud water with the sled. My whole body went numb as soon as I touched the water. I couldn't move either. The good thing was that the water was so clear, that I could open my eyes and see. It was cold and my mind started to blacken. I suddenly saw the ice break and Tiger swim under. The sled floated past him and he swam for me. I reached out a cold hand and grabbed onto his fur as tight as I could. But my hand was numb from the cold so I couldn't hold on. My hand slipped and I floated away. Tiger saw this and swam over. I suddenly saw a Pokeball crash through the ice. A Vaporeon appeared. Holly! Vaporeon was perfect in the cold water. She didn't think twice when she saw me. She swam at me with Tiger and they both tried and push me up. The ice broke again and Arcanine's legs and paws could be seen. I didn't see any more after that. I blacked out finally. Chapter 10 Tiger's Promise I slowly opened my eyes. They came into focus on Gato's face. "Your alive! She's alive!" Gato called. I sat up fast to see were I was. I was inside a cave. A fire glowed really close beside me. I had about fifty blankets on top of me. Gato was on my lap and Arcanine was beside me. My friends came over and sat around me. I saw all the Growlithes sitting up and wagging there fluffy tails at me, but they didn't move. Tiger was no where. "How are you feeling?" asked Holly. "Where's Tiger?" I asked. My friends parted and Tiger walked up to me and sat beside me. "You saved me." I said. "Not just me. Your Arcanine, Holly's Vaporeon, Misty's Vaporeon, Ash's Squirtle and Tracy's Merrill also helped. You almost drowned." said Tiger. "So I noticed. What happened to the sled?" I asked. "Gone. Everything was destroyed." answered Ash. I then realized that Misty's ankle was not hurt because she was standing on it. "We have no food, water or shelter. Now what?" asked Tracy. "I take you home." came Tiger's reply. We all looked at him. The fire glowed bright and looked creepy on Tiger's face. "What?" I asked. "I take you home. You took me home, its my turn." he said again. "Home? We haven't taken you home." Holly argued. "But you have." Tiger answered. At that, I saw figures appear in the glow of the fire. A bunch of them. It was Tiger's pack! Jessy and Gray Wolf were in the middle and the rest made a simi-circle around the fire and us. "This cave is my home. I wanted to share it with you, Sky. You have opened my eyes to see that not all humans are bad. What they did to me was only those humans, not you. You have earned my trust and saved me. I promise to you that you and your friends will not me harmed. But I asked for you help once more." Tiger said. We all sat there. All I could do was nod. "Hunters have come to kill us. Like they planed so many years ago. They are finally going to do it. You must help us stop them." Jessy replied. "Just like the book said." whispered Tracy. "Pika." "I have another promise for you, Tiger. Promise that you trust me, not matter what." I said. Tiger gave a smile. His first smile I had ever seen. Behind those bared teeth, there was a smile. "I always did, Sky. I always did." he answered. I smiled back. I was right all along. tiger had trusted me from the start of when he was in the tent with a hurt leg, to now. he had trusted me. "Thank you Tiger. And we will help you." I said. "How?" Ash brought up. "You make anything hard, don't you?" sighed Gato and she rolled her eyes. "I bet you that Donny is the one leading this hunt." I guessed. "Yup I overheard it all. Donny is going to lead a team of eight man armed with guns and mace into the wilderness. There that will hunt us down and kill us." said Gray Wolf. "Humans are very tricky. Hunters more than just humans. They know what we do and how we move. They;ll kill us in no time." the only Ghost pointed out. "But you have five humans are your side. I have an idea. Listen up, does anyone have a flying Poke'mon?" I asked. "I have a Pidgeotto." said Ash. "Good. Pidgeotto will fly over and watch Donny and all his plans. He then will come back to a big tree near by this cave where Jessy, you will be waiting. Pidgeotto will tell you everything and we lead the pack and us to where the guys will be coming to wait. Everyone will hide. All of you in the pack while the rest of us and Tiger hide in the bushes. I will let out Arcanine and Tigerlon, Holly use Rapidash and Ninetales, Ash use Pikachu and Gato will also be with them. They will all hide near the mountains where the rest of the pack will chase them. That group will scare the men into a small forest area. There Tiger and the rest of us will be waiting. We will have already dug a hole and all the men will fall through it and there they will be trapped. Now, the whole time, Pidgeotto will follow Donny. I assume he will take a different path. Okay? Everyone got it?" I asked. Everyone nodded. "One question?" said Tiger. "What?" I asked. "How'd you come up with that? I mean, in a second." asked Tiger. "Hey, take to the author not me. Okay, let's put this plan into action." I said. With that, we went on our way. We released the Poke'mon that we needed and went on our way. We all got in our places after a long talk. Jessy, Gray Wolf and the pack waited with Jessy in a tree, ready for Pidgeotto. Pikachu, Rapidash, Ninetales, Tigerlon, and Gato were already in there area, planing a attack. Ash, Tiger, Holly, Misty, Tracy and I were waiting in our spot. The hole was dug and was covered so they wouldn't see it. "Think it'll work?" asked Misty. "It has too." I said. And so we waited. I went though it of what was happening. Pidgeotto sat in a tree above the men. They had just said there plans and headed off together. Donny went a different way. With that, Pidgeotto went and found Jessy and told her. Then he left to follow Donny. Jessy told the pack and the pack and got ready to attack. The men came and the pack sacred them towards Gato and the others. They scared them towards us. As if on cue, eight men came running out and into the trees. They were yelling and screaming. Suddenly, they fell right into the trap. We all looked in. They were knocked out. We covered and hole with a net so they couldn't get out. Suddenly, a Fireburn burst though the brush. "Tiger! Donny has the pack! There in trouble! Hurry!" he gasped. Tiger was gone in a flash. We met up with the other Poke'mon and went after Tiger. We finally got there. Tiger stood growling with the Fireburn. Arcanine, Ninetales, Tigerlon, Pikachu and Gato took there places behind Tiger, all ready to fight. Tiger's whole pack, even Jessy and Gray Wolf, were in a net tied to a helicopter. The same helicopter that he was in when he shot at us. "Well, Sky and your little friends have helped Tiger Of The Wind becomes nice. Too late. His pack dies. Starting with this one." he said. Donny pointed his gun striate and Jessy's head and pulled the trigger. Chapter 11 The Final Battle It all happened in a flash. Donny pulled the trigger the same time Tiger leaped. He hit Donny faster than the bullet. The gun was pointed into the sky from the force of Tiger. The gun fired into the air. Jessy was saved! Tiger landed ion front of Donny. He growled and showed his white fangs. Donny raised his gun to Tiger. "Fine. Your first." he said shyly. Gato leaped and slashed Donny's back. Tiger leaped and grabbed the gun. He ran over to us with it and truned to face Donny. He threw Gato to the ground and onto the snow with a thud. She was up right after. Tiger dropped the gun from his jaws and onto the snow. He looked at Donny who want for the gun. His hand reached for it and instead of a gun in his hand, he got teeth. Tiger flashed his fangs and sunk them deep into his flesh. He cursed and pulled his hand away. "Don't you dare." Tiger warned. "A real battle Jeff! Your's agasined-" I was cut short by Tiger. "Your strongest Poke'mon agasined mine!" he yelled. "Tiger! You can't! His are pretty strong!" yelled Gato. "Very well. You will be sorry." he said. He grabbed a Pokeball off his belt and threw it. In a burst of white light. A Poke'mon formed. It was a Inferno. It looked like a big, red, dragon. It's head was small with a pointed snout. It had small front arms with shape claws and strong legs with sharp claws as well. It's tail was long and yellow and pointy at the end. It's belly was yellow and its neck was long. The back of the neck was red and the front was yellow. It had big, solid, red wings. Inferno roared loud and shot flame out his mouth. "On-no! He must have evolved his Charizard!" gasped Holly. "I didn't know you could do that." said Ash. Arcanine growled and tensed. I held up his Pokeball. I returned Tigerlon and Arcanine both. Gato got on my shoulder and Holly returned her Rapidash and Ninetales. Pikachu hopped on Ash's. "And so begins your death Tiger Of The Wind." Donny sneered. He pointed at Tiger and Inferno charged. He's head was down and ready. With great strength, he smashed his head hard into Tiger. I swear I herd and bone crack in Tiger's body. Tiger landed hard in the snow. He didn't move for a second and then he got up. He growled and leaped into the air. He spun in circles really fast and became a blue and white blur. "One-Two!!" he cried. He slammed into Inferno. The big dragon stumbled back, but didn't seem hurt at all. He raised his head back and whipped it forward. Sending a stream of hot read flames at Tiger. Tiger counter attacked. "Ice Beam!!" He opened his mouth wide and shot a blue beam at the fire. the fire was suddenly frozen in place. It cracked and shattered into a million pieces. Inferno growled and opened his mouth again. A yellow ball of electricity sparked in his mouth. Suddenly, the ball came flying out and smashed into Tiger. He flew back and hit a tree. That's when I saw Donny. He had gotten into the helicopter and was trying to start it up. He was going to make away with Tiger's pack. I then saw Jessy. She was blowing fire from her mouth to melt the chains. It wasn't hot enough. I threw two Pokeballs and Tigerlon and Arcanine appeared. "Tigerlon, Arcanine, use your Flamethrower attacks the melt the chains." I ordered. Arcanine had a better idea. He flamed the blades on the helicopter. now he couldn't go anywhere. Then they began to work on the chains. I looked over at the battle. Inferno was blowing more flame out his mouth at Tiger. Tiger suddenly moved. He ran around Inferno really, really fast and was another blue and white blur. Inferno watched him and got very dizzy. Tiger stopped in front of him. Two, huge glowing blue balls appeared at the end of each horn. "Mega Torpedo!!" Two huge lightning bolts suddenly shot out and hit Inferno. He roared in pain and fell to the ground. Tiger saw the chance. "Blizzard!!" Tiger opened his mouth wide and shot ice out his mouth mixed with snow. It hit Inferno in a cloud of it. Inferno slowly got up. But Tiger got one more attack hit. "Ice Bomb!!" He shot a little snow ball out his mouth. It hit Inferno and broke into a million pieces. Inferno roared again. He got up and was raging mad. I could tell. Angry red flames engulfed him. We all watched as the flame parted. He had evolved! He was now Metalferno! He looked like Inferno but his top part of his head was made of red metal. His right arm was made of red metal with sharper claws than his other normal arm's claws. His tail was made of red metal and had little spikes that leave space in between that were made of yellow metal. His two legs were normal. His long neck was covered with red metal plats only on the back. The front was normal yellow skin. His belly was coated with red and yellow metal. His wings were see through with no skin covering them. They were yellow in the middle and blue near the end and down. The linening was red. he looked really mad. With all his strength, he slapped Tiger with his giant claw. Tiger flew through the air and landed in the woods. That was a far away. Metalferno went after him. Donny and the rest of us followed. Donny had gave up on his helicopter. Metalferno was about to burn Tiger when he got up. He leaped in the air with his finally strength and clear water bubbles circled around him. "Aqua Blast!!" He opened his mouth and shot light purple, light blue and white water out his mouth. It hit Metalferno good and hard. Since Metalferno was fire, water hurt him good. He was on the ground in pain. Tiger landed on the ground. Wind whipped around him. Donny was backing away. I suddenly saw, for a moment, Poison standing in Donny's place. "There is a reason they call me, Tiger Of The Wind! Roar!!" he said. He opened his mouth wide. A huge gust of wind came out and slammed into Metalferno It was definitely stronger than a hurricane Arcanine and Tigerlon jumped out of its path. The chains broke and the whole pack also moved. Donny did as well. Metalferno and the helicopter was hit. The two bog things where thrown into the air and out of sight. They were thrown over the hills. Suddenly, Donny broke out into a run. Tiger was to fast and was on him. He's snarling face was inches from Donny's. "Never, underestimate your enemy Donny. Because they could turn right around and surprise you." he growled. With that said, Tiger got of him and he sat up. The wind blew around Tiger and Donny fainted in horror. "Good job Tiger!" cried Jessy running at him. They nuzzled each other. The pack was there and I returned my two Poke'mon. Tiger looked down at Donny. "Words will never mock what you do not know." he said. Chapter 12 Goodbye, Tiger Of The Wind The police came and took Donny away from illegal hunting. The men were also captured. The police offered to take us home. We accepted. But I asked them to wait a second. I left Gato with them and took off to find Tiger. He and his pack had disappeared when the police had come. I searched and found Tiger. His pack was waiting away some were. "I never, in all my life, though that a human girl would ever change my heart." said Tiger with a grin. I smiled. "Well, looks are deceiving." I said. Tiger laughed. "I wasn't talking about looks." he said. "Oh? Then what?" "It was a human girl that ruined my life." "Tell me, Tiger. Please. Were friends, right?" Tiger gave me one of his smiles that was hard to explain. The wind blew around us. "I may be your friend Sky, but you will still find my past a mystery." he said. He truned with the wind and ran through the snow and away. I sighed. He would never tell me and I would never know. I truned away and began to walk away. There was a sudden gust of wind and in that wind there carried a cry. I turned to see Tiger standing on a small hill. He stood proud and tall with the wind blowing around him. He raised his head back and howled. The wind carried his cry through my ears. "Goodbye, Tiger Of The Wind." I whispered. I then looked at him for the last time in my life and finally turned away. The Wind followed me until I got home. And now, whenever I here the wind blow and feel its presents outside with me, I hear his call. The sharp howling call of Tiger Of The Wind.
