Misty...I'm here.  Can you see me?  Of course you can't.  But can't you hear me?  Now, now, don't cry.  Everything's all right.  I'm still here.  Can you feel me?  You do?  This makes it easier.  Misty...can I tell you something?   No, no, don't be frightened.  I won't hurt you.  Yes, it's me, Ash.  You can hear me?  Good.  No, don't blame yourself.  I made that decision.  Why?  Because I wanted to do it.  Here's Togepi, he misses you.   How's Pikachu?  Still sad?  Tell him that he doesn't have to be that way.  Misty, I need to ask you something, before I go.  Do you love me?  You do?  So do I.  I will be back for you and Pikachu, but I must go.  Don't cry, it won't be that bad.   At least you know who's watching over you.

Misty watches as Ash's ghost vanishes into the morning sun.  Last night he had died in a car crash.  Misty and him had gotten into another argument, and he drove off furious.  She blamed herself, until he came back.  She didn't think that Ash loved her.   Now she has to wait.  She has to wait for him.  Still she looks upwards into the heavens, seeing her new guardian angel looking down, protecting her.  She walks off, leaving her mind at rest.

(Fifty years into the future...)

An old woman with a Pikachu walks down the street.  They pass the old Cerulean Gym, as old as she was.  Perhaps even older.  The Pikachu, whose fur was once the most brilliant yellow, now has a gray lining.  The two lived together, waiting.   They are waiting for death.  They reach their house, an old blue house.  The woman's grandchildren play about, waiting for her to return.

"Grandma Misty!" they all cry out as the greet her.  Yes, even little Pikachu's grandchildren were there.  Misty sent them home as soon as they had helped her around the house.  Their reward was a cookie.  As the children rush off, the old duo walks off to the bedroom.   Misty takes a look at her last picture of Ash.  She smiles.  She knows that the time has come.

She and Pikachu found themselves floating in midair, with their young bodies.  Ash is there too, to lead them upwards; to where they can finally be with the one they love most of all.

Tigress119 does not own Pokemon, but she will hopefully someday!  ;P
