Ash looked longingly at Misty.  She was still sleeping, a good time for him.  He sat down with paper and pen, and began to write.

 Dear Misty,

I hope that when you wake to find this note, you will be happy.  I've seen your happiness with Gary.  He can offer you more than I, a lot more.  Take my Pokemon, they like you far more.  I won't need them anymore.  By this note you will find an envelope.   Inside is all the money I have, for that bike of yours.  I know that this isn't worth my saying, but I love you.  But, like the dense idiot that I am, I can never obtain it.  I wish that you have no tears over this, but I shall not see you for a while.   Maybe when you find me, you will know that you have lived your life.  I hope to see you in heaven.

                                                                                    Signed,
                                                                                   Ash Ketchum

Without a whisper, Ash left the envelope and the note upon Misty's backpack.  He then gathered his things and walked off.  Some time later, Ash took out a gun, one that he kept for security reasons, and shot himself in the head.  All the forest was then quiet.

Misty awoke when a loud shot penetrated her ears.  She saw the note, read it, and cried.  She felt the same way about him.  Now that was lost to time.  Without a word, she took a pocketknife from he bag, and slashed her throat.   Love brought them together, and love took their lives.

The people then named the place were they had died "Love Struck Ridge".  All  people who camp there say that they still hear the gunshot, a harsh reminder of what happened to Ash and Misty.
