Chapter 2: Crazy It had been two weeks since May had left and the Birches were worrying about Brendan. Ever since she had left, he had quit his training and locked himself in his room. He continuously looked at pictures of the two of them. Pictures of the duo in wacky poses, pictures of May standing with her Pokemon, pictures of May battling. He missed her and he was going crazy without her. Every time he breathed in, he could smell her hair. Every time when their was silence, Brendan could hear May's voice. One day while Brendan was looking at a picture of May standing with her Torchic on her shoulder (that Torchic was now a Blaziken), his Poke'Gear rang. He thought about how dare the caller interrupt his reminscing time and picked up. "Hello?" He answered, extremely cross. "Brendan, it's May," said the caller. Brendan instantly broke into a smile. It was May!! The girl who he had been obsessed with ever since she had left him all alone. "Hi May!!" he answered cheerfully. He couldn't believe it was May. He hadn't heard from her since the day she left. "Hey!! I miss you, Bread Head!" Brendan smiled at May's nickname for him. It felt great to hear her voice again. "I miss you too! Where do you live?" May giggled. It felt wonderful to hear Brendan say that he missed her. Her life hadn't been the same without him. "I live in Goldenrod. B-Boy, this place is like Lilycove, except it's bigger. It has a huge department store, but it doesn't have the dolls. It a it's own casino, but it doesn' have Roulette. It has a card flip instead. And it offers Pokemon as prizes instead of dolls!! We have a train here that goes to Kanto and back whenever we want to go! We have a bike shop, but it's not as great as Rydel's. So what's been up with you?" Brendan didn't want to answer her. "I've been..." Brendan paused. He couldn't tell her how miserable his life was without her. "I've been okay. What about you? Made any new friends?" "Yeah, I have. I'm friends with the city gym leader. Her name's Whitney. I'm also starting to get to know the Ecruteak leader. His name is Morty!" Brendan felt a twinge of jealousy. He didn't want her to "get to know" other guys. "That's great, May!" he said, sounding a lot more excited than he actually felt. "Are you training there?" "Well, actually, I'm in school. Earl's Pokemon Academy. There are even gym leaders from Kanto that come here! I don't believe that Kanto has a school so the ones that are in school come here! I feel so ordinary compared to them." May sighed and Brendan wanted to tell her that he didn't think she was ordinary at all. "Awesome. I used to go to the Trainer's School in Rustbaro. I only went for about a year though." He hated that school. God, how he hated that school. Almost more than he hated Wally. "Hey, B-Boy, I got a question for you. Do you want to visit me in Johto for a couple weeks?" Brendan couldn't believe what she said. Of course he wanted to! More than anything else!! "Sure!" he said, not faking his enthusiasm. He couldn't wait!! Because then he'd be able to see May again... "We'll make arrangements next time I call, okay? I got to go. Whitney's going to let me battle challenger in her gym!" Brendan blinked. "Okay. Bye, May! Talk to you later!" Brendan was sad to see her go. He loved talking to her. "Bye Bread Head!" May said and then she hung up. Brendan sat with the Poke'Gear in his hands for what seemed like forever and then he finally said, "I love you, May." But she was long gone. *************************************************************** Awww... How sad... Anywayz, review and thanx to all y'all who nominated me for BIC!!!
