Chapter Four: Everybody's Fool [perfect by nature icons of self indulgence just what we all need more lies about a world that] She sits down in the lunch room and eats nothing, maintaining her picture perfect figure but slowly killing herself. Instead, she gossips about people around her, laughing at their inferority. She believes she is superior. Moving has changed her more than she'll ever know. When she eats nothing, she is killing herself. When she maintains her attitude, she kills me as well. She'll never know what a great person she had once been with her posse hanging around her and egging on her every move. She's now so perfect to her peers that I want to be sick. They love her. They love her cruel words and superior image and they worship her like a Buddha god. She basks in the attention and sits on a higher throne. Any higher and she'd be out of this world. I hate her for what she did to me. [never was and never will be have you no shame don't you see me you know you've got everybody fooled] This can't be May Maple. I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to be sick. She leaves me with mixed emotions and though she calls me her best friend, I don't know this girl. I don't know the preppy little slut that sits her ass down and gossips as much as a normal human drinks water. She has everybody entranced. She acted perfect. Her teachers loved her, her friends loved her and so did boys and girls alike. Miss Perfect, that's May. She would do anything to be completely love by everybody. She had been that way in Hoenn, but I didn't think it would go as far as becoming anorexic and making people cry. The May I know would never do this. I guess the May I knew is gone. [look here she comes now bow down and stare in wonder oh how we love you no flaws when you're pretending but now i know she] "May, what's up with your friend?" asks a girl named Erika, who was May's best friend of the day. She was a Kanto gym leader, she had power over quite a few of her peers. But she still needed the security of being popular and liked by May. How pathetic. "Yeah, Breadhead, what's up with you?" I told her not to call me that in front of her friends. God only knows what they would do if they heard that. "Breadhead? That's one jacked up nickname," giggled May's other best friend and also her lackey, the Goldenrod gym leader that goes by the name of Whitney. The other girls (Erika, Sabrina, Misty, Jasmine and Janine) and May all burst into fits of giggles. I gave them a glare and moved away from their table. Bitches. [never was and never will be you don't know how you've betrayed me and somehow you've got everybody fooled] Later on, back at May's house, she was laying on her bed and talking on the phone. "Yeah, that skirt she wore was horror... And that top? Where did she get it, the trashcan of a hippie?" May said. Brendan could hear the other person giggling from halfway across the room. "Bitch," he said disgustedly. May grew wide-eyed and told the person she had to call them back later. "WHAT did you say?" she asked slowly. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. "I said, bitch. As in you, May Maple, are a bitch." Brendan said it slow enough for her nonexistant brain could soak in what he had said to her. May looked shocked and somewhat close to tears. "I hate what you've done to me," he said, close to his own tears. [without the mask where will you hide can't find yourself lost in your lie] "What do you mean what did I do to you? You seemed okay yesterday, what did I do today? All I did was be myself," she told him, feeling confused and a little scared of losing her friend. "That's what you did. You moved away and made me crazy without you, and I came down expecting things to be the same and you're someone completely different! You don't eat, you make people cry, talk bad about them behind their backs and still everyone loves you! Well, everyone except me. Because I'm done with you, May Maple." [i know the truth now i know who you are and i don't love you anymore] May felt a tear slide down her cheek. Brendan had been right. But she had to hold her ground. "Well, you've set your standards too high, Brendan. This is who I AM now. And if you can't accept that, then we can't be friends." She felt the words slap Brendan on the face, as well as herself. Brendan walked to her door without saying a word to May. "Wait, Brendan! Where are you going?" Brendan gave her an icy glare then began walking again. "You're right. We can't be friends anymore, May. Don't expect to come crying to me when people realize what a bitch you are." And with that, he walked. [it never was and never will be you don't know how you've betrayed me and somehow you've got everybody fooled it never was and never will be you're not real and you can't save me somehow now you're everybody's fool]
