Chapter 6: Normal May sat in tears, staring at the television. Jack and Jennifer were together again. She sighed. If only her life could be like Days of our Lives. Because Marlena never really killed Abe, Jack, Maggie, Caroline, Cassie, Roman, Tony, Doug and Alice. It was all an illusion… She wished that some of the things in her life could be an illusion. (A.N: Excuse my Days of Our Lives reference…) It had been a month since Brendan had left Johto. He hadn’t called and she hadn’t expected him to. She had been cruel during his visit. But she didn’t understand him. So what if she had changed a little? This was where she lived and she wanted to fit in. She wanted people to like her at her new school. So what if she had gotten caught up in her image? Her friends wouldn’t like her if she wasn’t pretty and popular. Maybe they weren’t really her friends. May grabbed her PokeGear and began to dial Brendan’s number. But before she dialed the last digit, she hung up. What if he hung up on her? She wouldn’t blame him. She had been dreadful towards him. She could hear herself. ‘This is who I am now and if you can’t accept that, then we shouldn’t be friends!’ What kind of a spoiled brat said that? "May! Come down here!" called Mrs. Norton. May rolled her eyes. She was having a psychological breakthrough! It was so much like her mother to interrupt her at an important time. "May? Your father doesn’t really like his job here and we both prefer the small-town life. I hate to break it to you, honey, but we’re going to move back to Littleroot." May sat in shock. "Uh… WHAT?" she yelled. She had never felt so happy. If only Brendan hadn’t come to Goldenrod. If he hadn’t, then she would have someone waiting for her in Littleroot Town. Now she was more likely to have a tree stump waiting for her. If only, if only.
