Part 1b

            A/N- this fic is about James’ life.

            “ Ok, looks good Aaron. I’d say you should come back in around 4 weeks so we can look at your leg.” A man in blue says to a little boy in a cast. The boy excitedly turns his head to his mother and says,

            “ Someday I wanna be a doctor like Dr. Kojiro (^^’’).” Aaron says.

            “ That’s nice dear.” Aaron’s mother says as they walk out the door. Dr. Kojiro checks the clock.

            “ I thought my shift would never end.” He mutters to himself. He goes to the hospital changing room and gets into his regular clothes. On the way out, a girl calls out to him.

            “ Hey James!” the girl yells. James goes to the girl.

            “ Hey Sarah. Hey, when does your shift end?” James asks.

            “ It ended about a half hour ago. I was just waiting for you.” Sarah says with a smile.

            “ Oh. Hey, I know it’s kinda late, but do you wanna get some coffee at the café on Burch Avenue?” James asks Sarah. Sarah grins.

            “ Sure, I’d love to!” Sarah exclaims. They start their walk to the café. “ So, how have you been?”

            “ So-so.”

“ You do seem kinda sad.” Sarah says.

“ Seven years ago today I left the woman whom I loved. Of course I’m sad. I’m miserable!” James says.

            “ Why, did she break up with you?”

            “ No, we had to leave each other. Plus Jesse never got to know how I felt about her. We tried to keep in contact, but I moved and never got the chance to give her my new address.”

            “ How did you meet her?” Sarah asks. James looks around for a brief moment.

            “ Sarah, will you promise not to tell anyone?”

            “ Of course! You can trust me!” Sarah tells him.

            “ Well, I sort of met her in Team Rocket. She was my partner.” James says. Sarah’s eyebrows rise.

            “ YOU were in Team Rocket?” Sarah asks. James nods.

            “ But you can’t tell anyone. I don’t want to lost my job.” James says.

            “ Why would you lose your job?”

            “ Because I don’t want people knowing I used to try and steal Pokémon.” James tells her. “ Just please don’t tell anyone.”

            “ Ok, I won’t. I wasn’t planning on it either.” Sarah tells James in a serious tone.

            “ Good.” James says. Sarah looks down while she is walking. James notices this and speaks up.            “ Sarah, are you ok?”

            “ I just… um…” She starts.

            “ Well, what?” James asks.

            “ Do you still love Jesse?” Sarah asks.

            “ I don’t know.” James says, thinking.

            “ Well, James, I… I…” Sarah says, stammering.

            “ You…?”

            “ … Nevermind.” Sarah says. “ Race ya to the café!” She says and runs off.

            “ Very weird…” James says with a smile, and runs off so he can beat her.
