Chapter 2: Shock


     Sarah saved their table next to a red-haired woman and a tall man
while James went to go get the coffee. The whole time, he was thinking
of Jessie... If he would ever see her again... Who was she with now? Did
she even remember him? It had been such a long time since Jessiebelle's
limo had pulled away from where Jessie was walking. And it had taken him
a year to build up his life again.

     "Your coffee, sir," the cashier said, handing him two mugs of the
steaming liquid. He took his seat and sipped the coffee.

     "You're still thinking of Bessie, aren't you?" Sarah asked him
quietly.

    "Her name was Jessie," James corrected.

    "Jessie and James... Yeah, that defintely sounds like a name for a
criminal duo!" Sarah joked.

     "I miss her so much... It's been exactly seven years since I've
seen her... And everything has changed so much."

     "You sound upset," Sarah remarked.

     "She was my partner in crime. Literally."

     The red-haired woman at the next table over was staring at him
incredously. "James?" she asked.

      James stared at her, but he couldn't place her face. It looked
like Jessie but... On this day, everyone looked like Jessie.

     "Yes?" he asked irritably, hating to be interrupted while thinking
of Jessie.

      "James, it's me... Jessie," she said and disbelievingly, he stared
at her. Just as he had changed, so had she. She looked the same, but yet
different.

      "Jessie?" he asked her, and he felt as if this were a scene in a
cheesy romantic comedy that you regretted paying to see.

     "Oh my God, it is you!" she squealed and she rushed to give him a
hug. Sarah's eyes flickered with jealousy, but you couldn't blame James
for the ecstatic rush he was feeling.

     He didn't care when Sarah told him that she had to go. And Jessie
hadn't cared when Aaron left either. they were finally reunited, and
after seven long years... The pieces were falling back into place.
Jessie was falling back in love, as was James. 

     Everything was back to being perfect.
