Chapter 06: A Little Trouble on the Way to Catechi "Finally, we are on the way to Catechi!" cheered Chloe. "Finally?" laughed Chase. "Clo, we stayed there long enough to heal our Pokemon and buy a few supplies. We were there about thirty minutes!" "It was long enough," Chloe replied. "I hate small towns." "I don't blame you," Candace empathized. "They suck." The brunette shrieked as somebody knocked her down abrubtly. A guy in a black outfit stood up and brushed off his clothes. A girl with turquoise hair ran up to him. "Who are you guys again?" questioned Chloe. "You do not know Team Thunder?" asked the girl. "Not particularly," replied Jeremy. "Well, we're only the greatest team in Lasona!" boasted the guy. "That's great and all," said Chase. "But we didn't ask you about what team you're on, we asked who the hell you were." "They have name tags!" pointed out Candace and the other three trainers crowded the duo so that they could read them. "Oh jeez, you had to point out the tags, didn't you?" mumbled the girl. "Isabelle and Dan," Chase said triumphantly. "Stand by, new trainers!" called somebody behind them and Chloe, Jeremy and Chase spun around. Candace got to her feet to get a better look. "I'll take care of the evil fiends!" "Oh brother, not Jeff again," groaned Isabelle. "Let's take off. Forget the newbies." "NO!" yelled Jeff as he ran after the duo as they sprinted off to the horizon. Candace and her friends stared after them in bewilderment. "That was... interesting," Jeremy said finally. Candace blinked. "Sure was." "I think we should camp now," Chloe announced as she threw down her gear. "Sure, I guess so," said Chase, who had indeed become a bit more bold after getting to know the three. And so they did. Only this time, Jeremy got right to sleep, as did Candace. But in the middle of the night, something startled her. Something was swifly moving up her leg. A weird noise came closer and closer, as did whatever was moving. She shrieked and Jeremy, Chloe and Chase sat right up. "Something's moving up my leg!" she cried and Jeremy threw off the blanket. The snake Pokemon hissed at him. "Ew, a Grattler," commented Chloe. "Get it off, get it off, get it off!" screamed Candace. Jeremy hesitated a moment and then grabbed it by it's tail. It moved to bite him, but he threw it out of the tent before it had a chance. "Thanks," Candace said, beginning to feel quite stupid about her reaction. "I'm freaked out by anything with less than two legs and more than four." "No problem," Jeremy said as he climbed back into his sleeping bag. Chase and Chloe were already fast asleep. Candace was just laying down and looking toward the sky, as Jeremy had done the previous night. She turned towards the boy. His eyes were closed and he was looking quite peaceful. She smiled a bit and her stomach did a flip. Bujt she paid no attention as she turned to face the side of the tent and started to drift back to sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry that was so short.
