***AUTHORESS NOTES*** I only go to school for one more day! Thank God for those 8th graders... Because of them, we don't have school Tuesday! And I'm going to my old school for Tuesday and Wednesday! Cheers!!!!! Also, just to warn you, Jenn isn't in this chapter at all... Just in people's dialogue. And the next chapter is absolutely gooey!! Hopefully I will get to the chapter I've been dying to get to today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 30: All He Wanted "Pokemon trainer Jenifer Frost was kidnapped yesterday at Mount Pyre, where she was visiting with her friends. Team Magma is highly suspected. According to friend Nathan Pickens, the crime organization has gone to extremes lately to recruit ace trainer Frost..." Maxie shut the television off in annoyance. "I never thought about the fact that they would blame us... Stupid Giovanni. Nobody would even think of him. I bet her friends don't even know about him!" the Magma leader exclaimed, enraged. "Well, duh," commented Josh. "Nobody has even seen him since the second time he tried to take over that pathetic little town that Miss Perfect used to live in." "They're making us look extremely bad," commented Taylor. He was already annoyed with the administrator who was now at headquarters full time. Heck, he was even annoyed with Wally, who had turned out to be simply power-hungry and cowardly. This life was seriously not fitting for him anymore. More than usual, he thought of what would've happened if he hadn't gotten out of control with Jenn. Would he be travelling with her instead of that guy Nathan? Or would she still hate him, but for a different reason now? "Administrator Taylor!" Maxie yelled and Taylor snapped up, realizing that he had started daydreaming and stopped paying attention. "Yes, Maxie?" he asked in an uninterested voice. "I want you to find those kids she travels with and assure them that it wasn't us that took their little friend," Maxie ordered and it took everything Taylor had not to roll his eyes. Didn't they ever get tired of this life? He sure was. All he wanted now was something real- the same thing he would've had with Jenn if he hadn't messed up. "Sure boss," he said and he sat up from the chair that he was sitting in. Wally got up also. "No, Wally, I want him to go alone," Maxie told him and Wally sat back down, undoubtably fuming. Maybe they would find him a better partner... When Taylor left. ***** "God, you think she'd be back by now if she left of her own free will!" Nathan argued. "Maybe not. Maybe she just decided to do things on her own. Maybe she thought it'd be easier if we weren't here," Zach shot back. Nathan shook his head. "No way. She'd never do that without saying a thing to any of us. She was kidnapped, Zach." "Indeed she was," a voice spoke up and Taylor Flora stood in front of them, for the first time without a uniform. He had thrown it away, figuring that he wouldn't need it anymore after this. This was his final mission and when it was over, he was quitting Team Magma. "What are you doing here? And what do you know about what happened to Jenn?" Nathan sat up. "She was kidnapped. I can't remember the name of the person, but Maxie hired someone to do it." "Maybe it was you," Vicky said suspiciously. "Miss Evans, it wasn't me!" he objected. "I bet it was!" exclaimed Zach. "You've already tried to kidnap her once!" "It wasn't me, I swear it!" "Then where is she at? You should know that. Maxie should've told you," said Sam. "I don't know! He didn't tell me! It wasn't me!" He felt like crying now. Did they think that lowly of him? Did Jenn think that lowly of him? "Prove it," Nathan said and Taylor knew he was mad now. "I will. I will do everything in my power as a Team Magma administrator to get her back for you." He didn't tell them that he was quitting Team Magma. It was none of their business anyways. ***** Taylor sat between Nathan and Vicky as they watched the ten o'clock news. Undoubtably, there would be a story on Jenn, but as for now, they were listening to the captain in Slateport talk about his missing submarine, which had been stolen by Team Magma. Taylor winced hearing about it. Did they think that he had something to do with that too? Nathan sat unblinking at the screen. Why was Taylor here? Was he really so concerned about Jenn? Or did he have something up his sleeve? It was impossible to think that he didn't, after hearing Jenn talk about him so long. But he would know after tonight. He and Taylor were rooming together. Gabby, the annoying reporter that not everyone can avoid, came onto the screen. "There are no leads in the case of thirteen year old Jenifer Frost, who turned up missing a week before her fourteenth birthday on a trip to Mount Pyre. Companion Nathan Pickens claims that Team Magma was at the mountain and Frost must've gone somewhere to hide and that is where she met her captor. Pickens and friends highly suspect Team Magma in the case." Taylor was burning as they shut off the TV and Zach, Sam and Vicky left the room. He felt like all eyes were on him now. And he had to find her now. "Why did you decide to help us?" Nathan asked him once the others had left the room. "Because I seriously want to find Jenn. I keep wondering what would've happened if I hadn't ruined everything." "Are you serious?" Nathan asked him disbelievingly. "I am. She was the only thing that was real that I've had in a long, long time." "What about Team Magma? I mean, didn't you want to join?" "No. Not at all. They threatened my mom and she's all I have left so I had to do it," Taylor said sadly. "I never knew that about you," Nathan said and he looked shocked. "There's a lot no one knows about me. I think my days at Team Magma are almost over though. I'm sick of being in something that's based on lies and threats. I just want to be in something normal." Nathan raised his eyebrows. Something had definetely changed in Taylor, and it was definetely for the better.
