Okay, I had this idea while randomly surfing the net. As I have been putting off most of my stories for a while now, and discontinued ‘See It My Way’, I hope to finish this one. Btw, I expect somebody has had this idea before me, I just haven’t checked, so please don’t email me saying I’m unoriginal, because this idea came to me, I didn’t copy it.

Okay here goes!!

CONFUSION

Prologue

“Don’t you understand? What we’re doing is a noble undertaking!”

Lillie was confused. “But…the Earth is fine as it is…it doesn’t need more land or water…”

Archie scoffed. “Try telling Maxie that! Lillie, if Team Aqua gave up, then what would happen to the sea? If Team Magma didn’t exist, neither would we!”

Lillie thought about that. “I’m afraid I don’t quite understand…” she said slowly. Lillie was fifteen, with curly black hair and light blue eyes. She was standing in Slateport City’s Oceanic Museum. After kicking two Aqua member’s butts, Archie had unexpectedly shown up.

Archie sighed. “Put simply, Team Magma is trying to take over the world. We are trying to stop them.”

Lillie remembered hearing a Grunt muttering something like ‘What I learn here, I can put to use in nefarious deeds.’ Hmm. Not very save-the-worldish.

And she did not hesitate to let Archie know it.

Archie opened his mouth to retort, then paused. Ha! Don’t know how to react to that one, do you, Mr-Save-the-World?

Finally the ‘heroic’ Aqua leader sighed again. “Ah, you’re still too young to understand.” Then he made some stupid speech and left. Lillie felt very proud of herself. “Oh!” she heard, and snapped back to reality. “I almost forgot that you brought the goods!”

Oh, yeah. Captain Stern. What a weirdo. And that Devon employee…sending her on this stupid crazy quest halfway across Hoenn just to have someone do his dirty work! If she ever saw him again, she was so gonna wring his neck.

A month later, Lillie was on Mount Chimney, a volcano. After walloping a few Magma Grunts and even one Administrator, she finally dashed up the hill to where a man called Maxie, who Archie had told her about, was about to activate a strange machine.

“Hey you!” she said angrily.

“Oh,” he said, turning around. “Archie mentioned something about a meddling kid…I suppose that’s you?”

“Uh-huh. And you’re about to get your butt kicked.” Lillie dramatically threw a Pokeball containing Wailmer, one of her favourite Pokemon.

Maxie sighed. “Alright, have it your way. Go, Mightyena!”

The battle was fierce and one of the hardest Lillie had ever had. But in the end she came out on top. She grinned. She always came out on top.

Maxie glanced at the meteorite perched on top of the machine. “I…I guess I’ll have to steal it back from you some other time,” he said indifferently. Lillie laughed, and was surprised with how hard the laugh sounded. “You suck,” she said. “You are such a coward. You really are.” Her voice was light and careless. “Steal it back some other time…yeah right. I hope you fall in lava.”

He appeared hurt, and Lillie grinned. After Team Magma had departed, Archie congratulated her on her victory. “But…whose side are you on?” Before Lillie could reply, he said, “Ah well, no matter. Until we meet again, Miss Lillie.”

Lillie watched him walk away for a while. “Archie, wait.”

“Hm?”

“I…I have something to ask you.”
