Strange Destiny

A/N: Woo, I?m back and I?ve now thought up of a new Pokémon story! My other stories shall NOT be continued here, but they will be in FF.Net. This is a completely new Pokémon fiction and is not connected to any of my others fics nor anyone else?s. Now that you know all this it?s time for you to start reading. Well of you go. Don?t let me bore you. ^_^

Chapter 1

The stupid beeping alarm woke me up at six-thirty today and not being a morning person I wasn?t even ready to get out of bed yet. Call me lazy, but getting up in the early mornings doesn?t do much good for me.

Setting up and rubbing my eyes I tried to remember what was so special about today. The only reason I knew that today was special was because besides going to Pokéschool I always get up early for special days unless I either have to go to school or somewhere else.

I suddenly remembered why I had set my alarm clock to six-thirty am and smiled. Today was a special day, because today was the day I was going to get my first Pokémon. This was every wannabe Pokémon Trainer?s dream once we learn all about Pokémon. As soon as this day comes we can?t wait to get up early, go to the lab and get the Pokémon we want.

Professor Tallery?s lab consists of thousands of Pokéballs filled with different kinds of Pokémon, but there are only nine starters to choose from. They are Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip.

The lab of this Town doesn?t have its own three starters, which is quiet weird I guess. They do have their own League, though and I guess in some ways that does make up for the lack of three starting Pokémon. They were thinking of making Forbu, Ighou and Tsudile the three starters of this League, but I don?t know if they?ll actually do that.

The Katoenn League is said to be a mix of the first three Leagues, so it?s like one big League. A new Trainer from Palneburo Town can either get his or her Pokémon from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn or Katoenn. Most people get their starter from here ?cause you?ve got nine chooses and there is a chance that if an early riser already takes any of those nine Pokémon then maybe you?ll get a different Pokémon.

In my opinion Forbu, Ighou and Tsudile don?t make great Starters. Forbu is the Forest Bush Pokémon. It obviously resembles a bush, but they?re common. Way too common to be a starter. I mean, come on all starters in the previous Leagues can?t be found in the wild or at least very rarely. As we all know it isn?t hard to find a bush no matter where you are. Come on, the whole world is full of ?em!

Ighou is the Fire Dog and Dog Pokémon are common these days, but not Ighou. They?re not exactly rare, just hard to get. If you do come across one there is the major difficulty of trying to capture it. They?re great escape artists, but if you do manage to capture it then you have a loyal them member clipped right on your belt ready for you to use.

Tsudile is the Water Crocodile. It isn?t as energetic or lively as Totodile, but they are great battlers. Problem is that they are way lazy and boring, but once you get them going they don?t stop, which is another problem.

These three soon-to-be Starters of Katoenn all have good points and bad points compared to other Starter Pokémon.

Forbu are not only common for a Starter, but they are peaceful Pokémon. Peaceful is good, but it?s still not what you want in a Starter. Don?t get me wrong, I love peaceful Pokémon, but they aren?t the best Pokémon to pick for your first. Forbu prefer to just sit there quietly rather then battle. The good thing about them is their patience, even if they do lack in battle strategy.

Ighou are loyal to you in battle, but it?s a different story for when they?re walking along besides you. They tend to run off and give you a hard time of trying to retrieve them back. The only good thing about this is that when you capture them they seem to be twice as fast, therefore your runaway Ighou can?t be caught be another Trainer. The only good thing about them is, well they good deeds only comes for they are battling. They are loyal to the core in battle, but totally disobedient out of battle. Once again, because of this they don?t make great starters.

As I explained before, Tsudile are lazy Pokémon. Though, once they do battle they have tough, but they tend not to listen to their trainer. The good thing about them is their gentleness. They may be lazy and don?t listen to other species, but they are incredibly gentle beasts. If you want to really know what a Tsudile and its evolutions are like then think of a Charizard?s lazy attitude and its need to fight when it wants too and then add the personality of a Charmeleon?s barbaric nature when battling. Plus, also add the Dratini?s or any other Pokémon that had a gentle personality.

Of course I can?t tell you which of these three would be the best to choose from ?cause that?s up to you to decided, but I am going to tell you this. Always pick the starter that suits your own personality best. If you want a strong and loyal Starter then go for Bulbasaur. If you want a cute, but tough Pokémon then go for Charmander. If you want a playful or mischievous, but still strong Pokémon then go for Squirtle. If you want a cute, but still determined Pokémon then go for Chikorita. If you want a shy, but still fairly strong Pokémon then go for Cyndaquil. If you want an energetic and lively Pokémon then go for Totodile. If you want a rebel leader type Pokémon the go for Treecko. If you want an enthusiastic and loyal Pokémon then go for Torchic. If you want a cute and quiet, but fairly useful Pokémon then go for Mudkip. If you want a peaceful and patient Starter then go for Forbu. If you want a faithful and fast Starter then go for Ighou. Or if you want a strong, but gentle starter then go for Tsudile.

I have a favourite Starter for each of the first three Leagues. In Kanto Charmander is my favourite Starter Pokémon, because of its toughness for something that?s so cute. It is also a natural weapon with its short sharp claws, sharp teeth, tail flame and thick tail. My favourite Johto Pokémon is Totodile, because of its energetic and lively attitude. Like Charmander it is also a natural born weapon with its claws, teeth and thick tail. My favourite Hoenn starter is Treecko, because of its rebel and leader-like characteristics. Unlike Charmander and Totodile, Treecko don?t have natural born weapons such as claws, blades or anything, but they do have their tough attitude.

You?re probably wondering which of these three Starters I?m going to choose since you pretty much know that I?m going to choose one of them. Not that you probably care, but I have this great interest in creatures that are completely white. Because of this Persians are one of my favourite Pokémon. I?m not going to tell you right now which of these three Starters I?m going to choose. You?ll just have to wait as patiently as a Forbu and find out.

"Louise are you up yet?" My Mum yelled from downstairs. I cringed a little. Not because of my Mum?s yelling, but because I really hate my name.

"Yeah, yeah!" I called out to her grumpily. "I?m up! I?m up! Sheesh!"

"Then quit dawdling and get a move on!"

I didn?t reply to that. Instead I got out of bed and put on a dark blue jumper and a pair of blue denim jeans.

As I told you before I hate being called Louise. I prefer really weird and unusual names. I have always been called Loui except for my parents and little brother Mikey, who is of course really known as Michael.

I?m twelve-years-old and have dark purple waist-length hair with neon green streaks and deep blue-green eyes. I have an interest in strong, vicious and frightening Pokémon. Although I lack in patience, I do make up for it with my adventurous and energetic personality.

Ok, enough about me. Trust me, besides my eagerness to start my Pokémon Journey and my inspiration there?s nothing totally interesting about me. I?m just an ordinary kid who just wants to train Pokémon and have a really cool adventure. That?s it!

After getting dressed and picking up my now full backpack I walked downstairs. My Mum had already made my breakfast of Poképops even though I usually make ?em myself, but she did know how early I want to get to Professor Tallery?s lab, so I can get my first Pokémon.

As I sat down Michael started a conversation. "You know which Pokémon I?m going to get, Louise?"

I shock my head and ignored the fact that he had called me by my real name. "No. Which one?"

Yep, my brother is also starting his Pokémon journey. He?s thirteen, but he wanted to wait one more year, so that the two of us could pick our Pokémon together. Our parents suggested that we both go on our Pokémon Journey together, but we told them that we weren?t starting at the same League. While my brother was going to start at Johto, I was going to start at Kanto. Why? Well, since my brother so much wants to capture a few Johto Pokémon, I just want to start off on the first League discovered. No reason really, except for the three legendary birds, Mewtwo and Mew maybe.

Neither my brother nor I had told the other which Starter we were going to get. I wanted to be a Pokémon Master Michael wanted to be a Pokémon Watcher, but also a trainer. He had looked at the drawing of Pokémon Tracey Sketchit had drawn and had instantly decided that that was what he wanted to do. Problem is that he also wanted to train Pokémon, so I suggested he do both. Tracey has a Venonat, Marill and Scyther anyway, so why shouldn?t another soon-to-be Pokémon Watcher like Michael not have one?

Pokémon Watchers are quiet common these days. Even more so then Pokémon Trainers. Most watchers have at least one Pokémon to help them out with things like charging Pokémon or falling in a river, but some don?t.

"I?m not telling." Michael taunted and I rolled my eyes.

Michael may be thirteen, but he acts like a toddler sometimes.

After breakfast Michael and I were ready to go. On the way I past my best friend Abbey. Abbey is the same age as my, but doesn?t like Pokémon training unless it?s Bird Pokémon. Her dad is Falkner, but even through the likes Bird Pokémon she doesn?t want to become a Bird Gym Leader. Abbey is an only child, so it?s going to be hard for Falkner to find someone else to run the Violet City Gym somewhere else.

You may be asking what Abbey is doing here all the way from Johto? Well Abbey has come all the way from Violet to see me get my first ever Pokémon. Abbey and I met when she was riding on her favourite Pidgeot Windrider. She spotted me taking the family Growlithe for a walk and decided to introduce herself. Since then we?ve became best friends and even living so far apart hasn?t stopped us from having fun together.

Abbey has lived in Violet City since she was born, but I came to this Town four months ago. My family and I moved from Cinnabar Island to here for a change of scenery. Cinnabar is not a great place for an adventurous person like my Dad or me. Besides, if my family and I never moved to Cinnabar then my brother or I might have never gotten our Starter Pokémon.

Speaking of which I?ve almost walked straight into the Tallery?s lab. It would be all right if the door was actually opened, but luckily I didn?t hit anything.

"Are you awake?" Michael asked me. Michael can never ask if anyone is all right. All he can ask is if you?re sane, awake or whatever.

"No, I was sleepwalking." I said sarcastically.

"Figures." He mumbled and walked straight in. Grumbling I followed after him.

If you think Oak?s, Elm?s or Birch?s labs are huge then wait until you see Tallery?s lab. Her lab is beyond huge, but she does have every single Pokémon of all four Leagues except for legendaries.

The walls were painted with the usual white walls and of course there was the usual equipment. Plus, the healing Pokémon machine that all labs and Pokémon Centres have. The room we were in was lined with rows of shelfs each hold thirty or forty Pokéballs. Of course, these were only about half of the Pokéballs. The rest of the Pokéballs that contained Pokémon inside would be either tested by Tallery or shipped off to another Pokémon Professor for sturdy.

Every year it this Town are nine new Pokémon Trainers and my brother and I are one of these nine new trainers. Each year it is the same nine Pokémon, but the next year or some other year it might be different.

Inside the lab seven other soon-to-be Pokémon trainers were waiting for their Pokémon. We all made a circle around the small table that contained nine Pokéballs each with the name of the Pokémon inside. Of course first we had to all listen to what Professor Tallery had to say.

"As you all know these Pokéballs contain the starters of Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. As you can see they are all name, so that you won?t actually pick up the wrong Pokémon by mistake. Before I allow you to pick your Pokémon may I warn you that one of these Pokémon is highly unusual from the rest, but I?m not going to tell you which one. Now when I call your name you are to grab a Pokémon of your choice and wait for everyone else quietly, so that you can get your extra Pokéballs and Pokédex."

I glanced at the nine Pokéballs on the table. Each Pokéball had its own colour. Bulbasaur?s Pokéball was dark blue and light green, Charmander?s was orange and tan, Squirtle?s was light blue and yellow, Chikorita?s was light green and tan, Cyndaquil?s was blue-black and yellow, Totodile?s was blue-green yellow, Treecko?s was dark green and light green, Torchic?s was orange and yellow and Mudkip?s was light blue and orange. Each of these Pokémon had one of the three symbols. Bulbasaur, Chikorita and Treecko had the leaf symbol. Charmander, Cyndaquil and Torchic had the flame symbol. Squirtle, Totodile and Mudkip have the teardrop symbol.

"Abbey Richards!" Professor Tallery called out.

"Huh?" I asked, looking up.

Abbey was getting her first Pokémon? I watched as she choose one of the nine Pokéballs, but I couldn?t see which one she chose. But knowing Abbey I know which one she would have chosen.

Ten minutes later after we had all gotten our Pokémon, five extra Pokéballs and our Pokédex I walked up to Abbey.

"Hey, Abbey! You never told me you where going to train Pokémon!"

Abbey shrugged. "Yeah, well I wasn?t sure at first until I realised my love for Bird Pokémon."

"I take it that you?re going to be a Bird Pokémon trainer?" I guessed.

She nodded. "Yep and I?m starting at Kanto in order to capture my first Bird Pokémon. Hopefully a Pidgey."

"You can find Spearow near Pewter as well." I piped in, but I didn?t really need to tell Abbey that since she?s an expert Bird Trainer.

"I know it isn?t really a Bird, but one Pokémon I really wanna train is Aerodactyl." Abbey told me that Aerodactyl is her most favourite non-Bird Pokémon. She likes cute and beautiful Pokémon such as Chikorita, Skitty, Pikachu and Rapidash.

"Well if you do capture or somehow get an Aerodactyl some other way then why don?t you use it for your Bird Pokémon team?"

"Loui I can?t, Aerodactyls are Reptilian then Bird." Abbey told me and I sighed a little. "Besides, I already know the first five Bird Pokémon I?m going to have in my team."

"Yeah, which ones?" I asked.

She grinned at me. "That?s for me to know and for you to find out. Besides, I don?t think you?re going to tell me which six Pokémon you are going to have in your team."

"Yeah, but I really don?t know which six Pokémon I?m going to pick. I only know of two, though." I said. "My starter Pokémon and the most powerful non-legendary Dragon Pokémon."

This so-called powerful Dragon Pokémon is known as Escudra the Dark Dragon. Beware of these powerful dark beasts when they evolve fully ?cause they are said to be evil if not trained properly. Plus, in order to train one you have to be completely tough yourself. You also have to dominate over your Escudra if it?s a male, otherwise he?ll dominate over you.

Escudra are powerful Dark type Pokémon in any of their three forms. Each group consists of five females and one dominant male. A full grown female is five inches shorter and three-hundred-and-sixty pounds lighter then a full-grown dominant male Esobscudra. A male Escudra is what I?m after, but I won?t find one where I?m going. Escudras can only be found in the high mountain caves of Esobscu Cave, which simply means Dark Cave, but it?s larger then the Dark Cave near Violet City of Johto.

There are actually quiet a lot of new Dragon Pokémon and I have taken an interest in Dragon Pokémon, but I don?t want to be a Dragon Trainer. However, I do have my eyes on catching the six best Dragon Pokémon. There?s a Dragon Pokémon for each element except Fire, but Charizard is the only one at the moment. Don?t ask why. There are probably Fire Dragon Pokémon hiding in volcanos, lava pools or wherever.

"What, Escuro? How are you going to manage to capture one of those?" Abbey asked me.

I shrugged as we both walked out of the lab. "I don?t know, but I was thinking of battling one with my strongest Pokémon."

"Loui, even with a fully evolved strong Pokémon you still won?t be able to get an Escudra, even if it is Esobscudra?s smallest form."

I sighed. "Abbey I won?t be able to capture one till later, so what does it matter anyway? Besides, I don?t even know if I?m going to be a Dragon Trainer."

"Well if you?re going to be one then we both have flying Pokémon." Abbey said as if that idea excited her, which it more likely did.

"Hey Louise, Abbey!" A voice called out. "Wait!"

It was Michael, grinning as he ran towards us at breakneck speed. He skittered to a halt as he caught up with us.

"What Pokémon did you two get?" He asked breathlessly. "I couldn?t decide between Cyndaquil, Totodile or Treecko, but someone else already got Cyndaquil and Totodile, so I choose Treecko."

"Good on ya." Abbey said, who is nicer to Michael then I am. "I got a Torchic ?cause it is the only Bird starter."

"Cool!" My brother said excitedly. "I?ve seen a picture of Torchic?s full from Blaziken and it looks awesome!" My giddy bro was jumping gleefully from one foot to another, unable to hold his excitement. He grinned impishly at Abbey and I before saying, "Well I gotta get ready for my train trip to Johto. I?ll can?t you guys some other time, ?K?"

And just like that he and a friend were off.

"Your brother is so cute!" Abbey said without thinking.

I shrugged. "Yeah, well you should live with him to see what he?s really like." I know it was a stupid thing to say, but I just couldn?t resist.

The two of us got on the Aquas Extreme, which is a newly built and safe huge ship that takes us new Katoenn Trainers to Kanto. You then have to take the newly built train station from Vermillion to Pallet, so it doesn?t take exactly that long to get there. Abbey, Mikey and I have both been to Kanto a few times. Heh, I used to live in Kanto, but I told you that already.

"Hey, you never told your brother or I which starter you got." Abbey said as we walked up the long ramp and into the ship.

I shrugged, which is something I always do. "Guess I forgot. Well actually I didn?t really feel like telling both of you just yet ?cause I wanted to wait till later."

"Why?" Abbey asked curiously.

I shrugged again and replied casually. "Oh I don?t know. I guess I just wanted to show off my first ever Pokémon in a Pokémon battle or something."

"Yeah, but you do have to train it before you let it battle." Abbey reminded sternly, knowing how slack I can be. "Besides, it might want to meet you and get some fresh air."

"Yeah, you?re right." I nodded and agreement. I was just about to release my Pokémon when I heard someone call out my name.

"Louise! Fancy seeing you here!" The voice belonged to a male?s and the tone was noticeably snide. I groaned and turned to face the kid that always made me peed off.

"Gavin, if you?ve come to annoy me then I wouldn?t bother." I warned him tiredly.

Gavin smirked. "Now why would I want to bother you? I just wanted to ask you if you wanted a friendly Pokémon battle?"

"Yeah right, like you won?t bother me." I yawned, but the mention of a Pokémon battle perked my interest. "Pokémon battle, huh? I think I can live with that."

"Good." He said. "Meet me down at the battle room in fifteen minutes and we?ll have our battle there. I even got Abbey her own challenger if she wants to battle."

Abbey shook her head as if to tell him she wasn?t interested in battling just yet. As soon as Gavin left her head snapped around and she looked at me in the eyes.

"Why did you accept his challenge?" She demanded of me and I cringed. Abbey is nice, but she can be very loud and demanding.

I shrugged and tried to stay cool. "Hey, even beginning trainers don?t turn down a challenge."

"But on this boat there?s nothing to train against!" Abbey practically almost shrieked and I shifted slightly away from her.

"Hey, calm down! It?s just a Pokémon battle. What harm can it do?"

Abbey sighed and tiredly rubbed her eyes. "Look, you can battle Gavin, but let your Pokémon battle too much or you?ll regret it. Trust me, I?ve known from experience."

"Experience? Did you actually used to have a Pokémon?" I asked surprised. I thought she never really had one except for the Pidgeot she still rides.

Abbey nodded. "Um, yeah. My first ever Pokémon was a Pidgey and I over trained her, so she flew away one day just as I was about to make my one-hundred-and-twenty-five win streak. I was so hooked up on winning Pokémon battles that I never bothered to even ask Avis if she wanted to even battle. I just assumed that all Pokémon loved battling, but then I read up on Pidgeys and found out that they are very docile Pokémon. My first thought was to evolve her into a Pidgeotto and then finally a Pidgeot, but she didn?t want to evolve just yet."

"Gee, I never knew that." I said. "Well I can?t take back my agreement on Gavin?s challenge since it?s too late, but I will promise not to go overboard with the training."

Abbey smiled gladly. "Good. Look your time is almost up and I wanna go take a look around, so I?ll catch you later."

I nodded and she left. Looking around I wondered where the battle room was, but I could see the large dark blue sign with its light blue writing pointing me in the right direction. I only had ten minutes to get there, but for some reason I still took my time in getting there. I arrived six minutes late and Gavin looked just about ready to throttle me as I walked into the room.

"Sheesh, could you have taken any longer?" He growled at me, but then quickly calmed himself down. "Ok, we would have been having this battle twenty-one minutes earlier if two other trainers weren?t battling each other. Well know that we?re both here let?s start, shall we?"

I smiled. "You bet."

He grabbed a Pokéball and I grabbed mine. We both stood glaring at each other before we released our Pokémon.
