Pokemon New Horizons by Tyde21 Chapter 1: Memories, Bitter Sweet Memories "Pikachu used static web" Ash shouted. Pikachu's cheeks glowed sky blue and sparks shot all around it. Pikachu magnetized itself to Registeel and then blasted it with a extraordinary thunder attack. Registeel fainted and Pikachu ran and jumped in Ash's arms. "Forest you've come a long way since our first battle" said Ash with a smile on his face. Forest nodded and then said "Registeel return", Registeel was engulfed in a red light and swirled back into its pokeball. "Ash, are you gonna try out for the Master's KOIJHS Tournament?" Forest inquired with a fire burning in his eyes. "No Forest..... I'm gonna win it all!" Ash reveled. "Awesome! Brock should be back from his trip to Sinnoh in a few months, he'd love to see you battle again." said Forest. "Yeah, I wish I had time to visit mom, Misty, Tracey, Gary, Professor Oak, Richie, Morrison, Tyson, Max, May and Dawn to name a few. But I have to go directly to the Moltres Challenge if I wanna have a shot to enter and complete all of the qualifying nine legendary challenges. This is a massive tournament that only happens once every twenty years!" Ash shouted with unbreakable desire and intensity in his voice. "Ash the tournament is two years away. You need to visit your friends and family they haven't seen you in 2 and 1/2 years!" shouted Forest who was now on the border of sheer rage. "Come on, they know I have to complete the nine legendary Challenges to have a minute chance of performing well in the KOIJHS". Ash turned his hat almost 360 degrees like he did when we was just venturing from his home in Kanto, smiled arrogantly, then called Pikachu. The pokemon cried out, Pi-Pi-Pika-Chu-Pi-Pikachu in obvious disappointment of not being able to even have a short visit with its friends. It sighed then hopped onto his shoulder and they left. It had been 8 and 1/2 years since Ash had started his journey to become a pokemon master and now he had the chance to become the greatest in the widespread region, he had to do this if he wanted to be the best ever before he died. Ash had left Hikari and Brock 4 and 1/2 years ago and hadn't seen any of his friends or family in 2 and 1/2 years. His Pikachu had grown tremendously it was just as strong as his Charizard and Sceptile if not stronger. Ash had acquired many, many pokemon including a Gemto, Salamence, Neutrele, Dragonite, Dranapra and Leafia. Three of these were newly discovered evolutions: Gemto the pre-evolved form of Onix, Neutrele the pre-evolved form of Pluse and Minun. Last he was reunited with his evolved Lapras who had evolved into Dranapra. Pikachu and Ash were best friends, but Pikachu had lost the deeper touch with Ash over the past few months. This wasn't noticed by an Ash who had lost only ten battles in the last two years, those include loses to tournament champions and elite four members. Ash had his infinite victories vs. the best gym leaders, elite four trainers, and some of the best in all of Kanto. Ash had topped off his third victory vs. the new Pewter City Gym leader Forest, Brock's oldest younger sibling. Forest was only fifteen but one of the best gym leaders, actually he'd only lost 7 battles as a gym leader for his 3 years as the leader. Three of the seven losses were to Ash. Ash reminsced over the past few years and all the adventures of him and his many friends whom he barely contacted at all. Forest, not wanting to change the rock background of the Pewter Gym became a rock and steel trainer. His brother had finally become a breeder who bred pokemon and helped wild populations flourish. Brock finally lost his absolute obsession over girls, more or less he was now in a real relationship with Dawn who would bite his head off is he started to flirt with the nurses, officers, or other girls. They were dating even though Dawn was only 17 an 1/2 and Brock was almost 21 ,and they were passionately in love. Dawn helped Brock run the breeding station while he was away, Dawn still competed in Pokemon Contests but breeding took up more of her time. She was learning the very strong connection betweens breeders and coordinators. Brock was currently in Sinnoh on a Glacia and Leafia repopulation project since the new rapid climate changes had created problems for the evolutionary stones to have their normal effects on Eevee. Ash had let Brock borrow his Leafia for the project, but made him promise he'd get it back before the KOIJHS Tournament. Tracey now had his own lab for research on the Orange Islands. He was becoming just as infamous as Professor Oak. Gary still desired to be a pokemon master, meanwhile he studied pokemon to help them and prepare for battles and to strategize. He had become good friends with Misty supposedly......... Misty he couldn't think of her not now. Her memory wa too painful he wasn't sure why, but he knew why and he still hadn't talked to her in three years. Max was becoming a great pokemon trainer he'd already earned all his Kanto and Johto badges and was almost done in Hoenn. May and Drew had both won the Grand Festival in Johto and Sinnoh and were competeing in the Orange Islands Spectacle. This Spectacle was much like the Grand Festival but the ribbon Contests and Orange Spectacle Cup had a few different twist than conventional contests.Richie and everyone else were out to compete in the KOIHS, but somehow they had stayed in contact with friends and family. Ash grinned they'll be easy to beat and everyone will see why I couldn't let myself be bothered. KRAAAAAKKKKKKKZZZZZ!!!!!! A powerful lighting bolt struck directly infront of Ash awakening him from his daydreaming and sending him and Pikachu flying into a tree. Ash got a glimpse at a huge yellow thing in the sky, it sent the lightning bolt. What was it? No..it couldn't be... Yes, it was a Zapdos! Ash took a pokeball from his waist, he'd gone 19 years without capturing a legendary pokemon and now was his chance. Ash jumped up and tossed the pokeball "Go. Sceptile!" he said with the enthusiasm he'd had as young trainer, now he was a little more cocky. His pokemon Sceptile stood ready to attack at his command. "Alright, Pikachu watch out this is gonna get a little crazy! Sceptile bullet seed!" Ash shouted very confidently. Zapdos countered with a powerful thunderbolt, slamming Sceptile into the ground. "Sceptile, you can do better than that!" said a new less caring and greedy Ash. "Now climb into the trees and take it down with leaf blade" commanded Ash. Scep-Scep-SCEPTILE, lunged into the treetops. Sceptile dodged the accurate barrage of thunderbolt attacks. It got in striking distance, but was knocked out with a amazingly quck drill peck. Sceptile crashed into the treetops. The clouds started to create a downpour of rain. "Damn, it's electric attacks will be exceptionally powerful.Though Sceptile will gain energy by absorbing the water." thought Ash. "Sceptile overgrow, then leaf blade when I tell you to". Sceptile glowed with the green energy of overgrow which was boosted by the buckets of rain falling from the sky. Sceptile charged at Zapdos with speed even unbelievable for Sceptile. Zapdos was ready to finish the battle, it charged up for a super strong thunder attack and fired. "Now!", Ash yelled. Sceptile transformed the leaves on it's arms into very large and powerful blades. Sceptile was launched into the air past the clouds, "SOLAR BEAM!" Ash commanded. A vast and powerful green light vanquished the clouds and hit Zapdos. Zapdos collasped into the treetops. It was still ready to fight. Ash saw Sceptile fall from the sky into the forrest."Sceptile, noooo!" said the old Ash. Sceptile arose from the forest still glowing with the last of its energy. It let out a loud cry, "Scep-TILE-TILE-SCEPT-SCEPTILE-SCEPTILE". An old enemy watching the battle from afar with the plans to capture Pikachu and Zapdos watched. One of them translated "Sceptile is sayin it doesn't care if Zapdos is legendary it's just as powerful and one-of-a-kind as Zapdos." one of the villains translated. "Let's finish this, Sceptile!" said Ash."Quick attack!", Zapdos used a drill peck to block, then Sceptile dodged and attack beneath Zapdos head with a full force leaf blade. Sceptile wasn't able to completely dodge the drill peck. Itlanded and nearly collasped. Even a more cocky Ash stilled cared deeply for his pokemon, Sceptile you've done great, return. Ash took out a a Hyper Ball which used the emotion of the trainer to make the ball more powerful. It even gained energy from greedy and overconfidence which Ash had recently gained a large amount. Ash charged the Zapdos stuck in the trees and yelled as he threw his pokeball as hard as he could at the creature. Zapdos power struggled valiantly against Ash's determination and greed but Zapdos lost and Ash became even more overconfident. Though he was somewhat a outcast from his friends and other people, Ash hurried his Sceptile and his new Zapdos back to Pewter City, Pikachu ran after him not wanting to slow him down. Nurse Joy met them at the front desk. Before Nurse Joy could tell Ash about the message he had waiting for him, Ash blurted out "Sceptile and Zapdos are worn out from battle, you've gotta help them". Nurse Joy nodded with a quick "mhmm". Ash gave Nurse Joy the pokeballs containing Sceptile and Zapdos who she ran off with to the emergency room. This reminded Ash of when Pikachu lost to Brock's Onix and he rushed Pikachu to the pokemon center.
