Southern DMZ Airfield “DMZ Hilton” Allied Occupation 2300 hours Barracks 4, 2372 “WAKE UUUUUUUUP RECRUITS! RIBLRY RIBLRY RIBLRY!” the base commander stood, as loud as ever, in front of ash and his men screaming at them. “Huh wha…” Ash checked his watch. “IT’S ELEVEN FRICKEN PM COMMANDER!” he screamed back. The colonel was taken aback. “No matter…” he said. “High command wants you and your platoon to rendezvous with an agent across the DMZ. And cover the 33rd armored as they cross with you.” Ash was shocked. “Can we have gunship support at least??” The commander appeared to think for a while. “ NO! NOW GET MOVING!” Ash and his men picked up their packs and M4 Carbines and walked out of the camp along with a squad of 3 tanks. The second they were out of sight from the base, ash pulled off his pack and strapped it on pikachu. Halfway across the DMZ, the third tank’s engine started smoking and the whole caravan was forced to stop. “If they see this smoke, Charlie’s gonna splatter our vitals all across these hills…” said the tank’s commander as he began repairs. The sun was rising by now, and the DMZ seemed unusually quiet. Ash looked around. “Hey… where’s pikachu?” Gunfire immediately broke out as two platoons of rocketeers began pelting the tanks from either side with AK47s. Ash took cover under one of the tanks along with two other soldiers and fired at whatever he could. An Allied OH-6 Loach circled above them and then left toward the airfield. It had been 6 hours since the engagement, and Ash and his convoy were still pinned down by rocketeers, who were now camping out around the platoon. Suddenly there was the faint whuppa-whuppa-whuppa of rotor blades and two UH1C Huey Sharks flew over the hills of the DMZ and unloaded around 20 rockets into the rocketeer encampment until one’s tail rotor was shot out and crashed between the tanks. The second Shark discharged what was left of his ammunition and headed back to the allied airfield. Ash fired at the rocketeers from under the tank as 3 soldiers rushed to pull the pilot and copilot from the wreckage of the Shark. The pilot had been impaled with a steel pipe, and was dead on impact. The copilot was pulled out of the wreckage, but was missing his leg. Ash identified him as professor oak. “Oak… what the hell are you doing in a place like this!?” he asked, as the medic was wrapping up oak’s leg. Oak looked bleakly at Ash. “Had to… keep you out of trouble…” To Be Continued…
