'Special' Chapter the second- Disclaimer- Why do I write these! Aargh! It’s pretty obvious that the author does not own Pokemon or a Bentley or a wad of cash or a penguin or even two coins to rub together! Author's words of wisdom- ……All hail me…..I will rule you all….*Ahem, sorry just my evil split personality, nothing to worry about. Really! (C={ PG- You know the routine, Parents vaguely cautioned, light swearing, comical violence, etc, etc. Ash was sitting (sound familiar?) in the principal’s office. He had just told Mr. Z Bugnat what happened to him under the tree. He could hear Zack arguing with him in the next room. Now he got a closer look at Zack, he noticed the back of one of his hands had a purple-pink ripple to it, and he had deep purple eyes, sort of the same color as a ditto. A voice startled him. “Ashley, what precisely did you do to the girl in question here?” It was the principal. “Erm, nothing!” “Interesting that, you know, Zachary here tells me quite differently, as do three other students who witnessed this little mishap of yours.” “Well…..Maybe they got it erm, wrong sir?” “Ashley Ketchum, you would normally be in for quite a punishment, you understand, except when we called your mother to inform her of the situation, she shouted at us for not controlling our students for half an hour, before saying she was coming to take you away.” As if she had been waiting for the cue, Ash’s mom burst in through the door, shouting bout this and that and her poor baby, whisked him out of the doors, and took him back to Pallet towwas gone. “Look at your face! My poor Ashy, what did they do to you!?” “Mom, it’s nothing, just a guy punched me.” “Who is he? Where does he live? Who are his parents!” “MOM! I’m sixteen now, it’s okay, I can sort things out myself!” “Sorry, sorry Ashy. Anyway, there’s someone back home waiting for you…” “Brock didn’t come round did he?” “No.” “Not Tracy?” “No.” “May or Max?” “Still no. You can see for yourself now though, were almost back.” A Rusty Skoda pulled into the drive, giving one last wheeze as it chugged into the garage, promptly stalling. Delia thought it best just to leave the poor thing there. Ash opened the front door to be greeted by a tuft of bright orange hair in his face, as someone charged at him and hugged him, almost knocking him off his feet. “Hey Misty!” “Hi Ash, how are you!” “Um, yeah I’m okay, how about you, where’ve you been, why are you taller than me, why…” He was stopped short as a small yellow animal jumped on top of his head, and started hopping around, pleased it’s master was back with it. “Pikapi!” It shouted. “Hi buddy! Sorry, no ketchup this time..” The Pokemon jumped off his head and slouched off. “So where you been?” Asked Misty. “They forced me into this dumb school, sent me a carrier pidgey while I was on mount moon!” “Oh yeah, I heard all about that! Palleter’s, like yourself, get dragged off to this new college, then spend 12 years there!” “12! WOAH! They told us it’d be 2 years!” “Guess they lied.” “KIDS! DINNER!” Delia shouted them from the kitchen. Here she was cooking up something that resembled a chicken casserole, yet smelled like a chilli. “Well that was um….. speedy?” “Er, Mom, what is that?” “Curry casserole Ashy, I just thought of it!” “Mom, just because they start with the same letter doesn’t mean they go together…” “Nonsense! What about my sugar sandwiches, you used to love those!” “Yeah, but remember your turnip trifles and marmite meringues?” “Well..” “Ah who cares,” Interrupted Misty,”Your cooking always tastes great!” “Thanks dear, now come on, let’s eat.” The curry casserole tasted surprisingly good, so seeing how early it was, Ash and Misty, (well, rather Ash) decided to go do some training at the local stadipark. A small fact for you- Stadiparks are areas of land next to most Pokemon centers specifically designed for training, with at least two small arenas. They were installed throughout Kanto in the year 2004. Anyways, Ash headed over to one of the arenas, Misty barely managing to keep up, ready to challenge another rookie. He had already collected six of the twelve badges required to compete in the league, before his journey was cut short by college. “Ash, wait up!” Cried out Misty, panting from the running. “Okay, okay, you can have a rest now, we’re here.” Ash walked on to the tarmac and saw his opponent tinkering with a potion at the other end, his back turned. “Ready to get beaten newbie!” Shouted the ever cocky Ash. “You just don’t go away do you…” Said a familiar voice. “Your that guy from college, Zack isn’t it? Right, this makes it personal now!” “If you like. Two on two battle though, one Pokemon per person.” “There's only one of me though!” “Fairly obvious, but the lady over there fights as well, am I right?” “Oh, right. Hey Misty, come over here! Fancy fighting this guy?” “Yeah, okay then.” Said Misty, who had been looking pretty bored. “Okay then, Amy if you would…” The same blonde girl Ash had ‘met’ earlier appeared from the shadows behind him. It was getting late- and dark. “Look who showed up, Mr. slappy himself.” Mused Amy. “Okay lets go, Ajay, be a good man, referee for us would you.” Adam, Ash’s friend, came up to the ring. “Competitors ready! Two on two battle! Go!” “Go pikachu!” Shouted Ash, almost knocking the poor creature on to the floor. “Go Staryu!” Yelled Misty, as both Pokemon flew out on to the field. “Okay then,” Said Zack,”better be Arcanine! Go!” “And I choose,” Said Amy, “Ninetails!” Ash and Misty gawped at the Pokemon, both seemed high levels and were large for their type. “Wh..What level are those!” Squeaked Ash. “My arcanine’s level sevemty two, amd Amy’s Ninetails is a sixty six. How ‘bout yours?” “Um, Pikacuslevelistwohundredandeighty!” Ash garbled.”An’ thas’ better than you’ll ever be!” He finished, folding his arms and sticking his nose up. “Ri-ight…” Said Amy. “My staryu’s level forty two” Said Misty. “Not bad.” Said Zack, looking at ash, slightly confused. “Anyway, to business, Arcanine, use extremeheat on the mouse then the star!” “Ninetails! Same move, alternate Pokemon!” The two from pallet town hardly had time to think. In a blur, what looked like two fireballs with legs erupted from where the opposition had stood. They slammed into each of their Pokemon, switching target every time until both staryu and pikachu were KO’d. Almost as if it were instinct, the two Pokemon returned to their masters, where they were healed, and ninetails returned to it’s pokeball. The arcanine stayed by it’s trainer. “Both Ash and Misty’s Pokemon are unable to continue! Zack and Amy are the winners! “Whu…” was all Ash could manage right then. Misty, on the other hand- “Wow! That was totally mean! Staryu! Where are you! Come to mummy statyu!” A slight red glow eminated from a pile of ash nearby. Misty uncovered it to find the tattered remains of staryu, the core hardly still glowing, and only half of the arms attatched. She ran to the Pokemon centre, crying. Ash followed, a fried pikachu in his arms. They watched the two until they were out of sight. “That was mean Zack” Said Amy, chuckling as she slipped her arm ‘round him. “Well, they’ll live. So much for level two hundred and eighty though…” She poked him in the side, and they walked off in the opposite direction, arcanine trotting along beside them.
