Ash: 11 ½

Misty: 11

Brock and Zero: 22

“Hey Ash, you play?” Zero asked, tossing the guitar to him. Ash said “A little. I only know one song.” Zero Smiled. “I wanna here it.” Ash thought for a moment before saying “Okay. Give me some time to warm up. It's...A very special song, and I want to do my best.” “M'kay.” Zero left the room. Outside, He bumped into Brock. “Dupe! Hey Brock, Watch where your GOIN'!” Brock said “Sorry.” Zero remembered “Oh, Ash is probably ready.” “For what?” “Ash is gonna play a song on the guitar. Tell Misty.” “Okay.”

A few minutes later, Misty, Brock, and Zero sat on the floor to watch Ash play. “Okay, My dad wrote this song, So it's really special to me. Here goes:

Hey there Delilah

What's it like in New York City?

I'm a thousand miles away

But girl tonight you look so pretty

Yes you do

Times Square can't shine as bright as you

I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah

Don't you worry 'bout the distance

I'm right there if you get lonely

Give this song another listen

Close your eyes

Listen to my voice it's my disguise

I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

What you do to me

Hey there Delilah

I know times are getting hard

But just believe me girl

Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar

We'll have it good

We'll have the life we knew we would

My word is good

Hey there Delilah

I've got so much left to say

If every simple song I wrote to you

Would take your breath away

I'd write it all

Even more in love with me you'd fall

We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far

But they've got planes and trains and cars

I'd walk to you if I had no other way

Our friends would all make fun of us

and we'll just laugh along because we know

That none of them have felt this way

Delilah I can promise you

That by the time we get through

The world will never ever be the same

And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah

You be good and don't you miss me

Two more years and you'll be done with school

And I'll be making history like I do

You'll know it's all because of you

We can do whatever we want to

Hey there Delilah here's to you

This ones for you

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

What you do to me.”

Brock fainted, Misty was speechless, and Zero, being tone deaf, only closed Misty's mouth. Misty said “Wow, Ash is...dare I say it...Great!” Zero smirked triumphantly. “I knew it. He's great. Now everyone, To the dining room for Pomegranate Juice and Kolaches on me.”

***** 9 years later *****

Misty shivered and pulled her coat tighter around her. Looking over at Times Square, she couldn't help but remember that day. She stood there thinking for a minute before hearing a guitar.

Do you like what I did to the song, Myst?” Ash stepped out from the shadows. Misty smiled and ran over to Ash. He hugged her, and stroked her hair. She looked up at his face, and said “Of course I do, Ash.” And then he kissed her. She returned the kiss, and together they walked out to Times square. Ash got on one knee, and said “Misty, I know this is kind of sudden but, Will you marry me?” He opened the small box, and revealed a beautiful gold ring with a sapphire. Misty smiled and said “Of course I will.” And they kissed again.
