Rocky: 1 Badge, 1 Ribbon

         Chapter 9:
         
         Rocky was about to go to the next gym and called Bruno and used the Pokemon transporter to send back 
Machamp and Luxio because he thought that Bruno could train them better. As Rocky entered the Eterna gym, he was 
greeted by the gym leader’s secretary “Hello. If you’re here to challenge the gym leader, then go through that door.” The 
gym leader started the battle as soon as Rocky entered the room. She sent out a Cherubi, so Rocky chose Cherrim. 
Gardenia, the gym leader, told Cherubi to use Natural Gift but used Sunny Day by mistake. Cherrim used Solar Beam to 
wipe out her opponent. Gardenia then sent out Turtwig. It used Leaf Storm and Cherrim used Petal Dance. Leaves and 
petals flew everywhere. Suddenly all the petals and leaves stopped, gathered around Cherrim and started spinning. Rocky 
was confused until he saw Cherrim’s eyes. She was using Psychic! She threw all of the petals and leaves at Turtwig, 
however she did use a lot of energy. Both Pokemon fell to the ground. Gardenia sent out Roserade and Lucario jumped on 
to the field. Lucario used Clone then showed Rocky a new ability: Aura Weapon. Aura Weapon is an attack that transforms 
an Aura Sphere into a weapon made of Aura. All of the clones used Aura Ninja Sword while the real Lucario used Giant 
Aura Sword. Roserade was severely injured, even though she put up a Power Whip barrier. “Roserade is unable to battle. 
The winner is Rocky and Lucario. Your prize is 1,000 dollars and 2 TMs: Vine Whip and Power Whip. You can’t teach 
any Pokemon Power Whip without them knowing Vine Whip. To get the Badge you have to beat Gardenia in a contest. If 
you win not only do you get a Badge, but also a Ribbon. The contest starts in 15 minutes, so hurry to the stadium.” 
         
         Rocky ran as fast as he could to the stadium. He had 3 minutes to spare.  He was the first to perform. He chose 
Lucario. He used clone to create a Super Aura Sphere. They threw it straight to the top of the stadium. Then the original 
Lucario used an Aura Senbon (throwing needle) to turn the sphere into a sky full of blue fireworks. About 30 minutes later, 
after learning that only 2 people were left, Rocky had to battle Gardenia. He chose Lucario and Cherrim. Gardenia sent out 
Roserade and Turtwig. Lucario used Aura Scythe and already took out ¼ of Gardenia’s points. Cherrim used Sunny Day 
while Roserade used Power Whip on her. Lucario used his Scythe to cut the vine.
          
         Rocky had ¾ of his points left and Gardenia had ½. Time was up and Rocky was given a Badge, a Ribbon, and 
the map to the ancient Shadow Crystal. The crystal can evolve ANY Pokemon and give them a dark attribute. Rocky asked 
Lucario if he wanted to evolve again. Lucario said “I would love to evolve again. I need more strength before I fight J 
again.” They’re next adventure would begin at the entrance of Crystal Cave.
