Chapter 3 Disclaimer: I don’t own Pokemon and it’s likely that I never will. But if I did own it, May would be dead and Tracey would be better looking and 4kids would not own the dubbing for it. I know what you’re thinking. “Oh my gosh, she updated. It’s likely the sky will come crashing down on our heads! O_O” Nah, I was just really busy with schoolwork and finals and chores and stuff. But here I am now, ready to make a funny fic that was poorly reviewed! ^_^ I am happy that my fic sucks so much. YAY! Um, yeah. Okay, please read and review my fics. =P Wolfsrain@gmail.com is where you can reach me! ^_^ "Daisuke, go!" Kei threw a Pokeball, and a Typhlosion came out. "Flame- thrower, Daisuke!" He took in a deep breath and released a huge burst of flames. Misty took cover, and said all of her prayers, thinking she was going to die. A jet of water from Brock's Lotad blocked the flames. "What?!" Kei gasped. "It seems I have competition. Good," she grinned. “Flame-thrower, Daisuke! NOW!” The purple and beige Pokemon took another deep breath and released a giant burst of smoldering, orange-ish red flames. “Lotad, dodge it!” Brock yelled. The small leaf-like Pokemon tried to move out of the way, but the timing of the flames was too great. Lotad was knocked out in a couple of seconds. “No! Lotad, return!” Brock sobbed, afraid of the damage done to his Pokemon. Misty stepped in. “You may have a strong Typhlosion, Kei,” she said. “But it will be no match for Politoed! Go!” Misty removed a red and white Pokeball from her belt and threw it. It opened up in a burst of white light to reveal a green and yellow, overly large toad. “Politoed! Politoed!” It cheered happily, clapping its hands together in rhythm. “Politoed, Hydro Pump!” “Daisuke, Dig, and fast!” The cyan coloured, high-speed jet of water coming from Politoed barely missed Daisuke as he burrowed underground. Politoed looked around, confused, not knowing where his enemy went. Misty called out to it, trying to warn him that his foe was right behind him, but no avail. Daisuke the Typhlosion was too quick. His Dig Attack was a head on collision with Politoed’s spinal cord. A loud “SNAP!” was heard. It was the breaking of Politoed’s back. Misty watched in horror and burst into tears as she called it back. “YOU MONSTER! You’ve killed my Pokemon!” Misty yelled. She put the ball the held Politoed in Brock’s hands and ordered him to go take it to Nurse Joy, and fast! Misty cracked her knuckles and walked huffily up to Kei. “I will kill you, you filthy rat!” Misty threw a punch at Kei, but missed, as Kei had backflipped out of the way. “So, you’ve some skill on you? Well you’ll need it!” Misty yelled as she threw another punch. This one too, also ended in failure. “Dammit!” Misty cursed as she threw one punch after another, each one making no contact whatsoever with Kei’s body. “Enough of this tomfoolery, Daisuke, protect your master!” The Pokemon howled a battle cry and rushed into Misty, knocking her over. Misty fell hard to the ground. She scrambled to get up, but Typhlosion smacked her, claws out. Misty had three, large, bleeding gashes on her face, rendering her unconscious. Typhlosion sunk his large fangs into her leg, making it bleed horrendously. ”STOP IT!” Ash yelled with all his might. He couldn’t stand to see one his friends being hurt like that. “You know, I wouldn’t even wish this on my enemies! Misty’s not the one being insubordinate, I am! So why are you taking it out on her?!” “She deliberately attacked me!” Kei said, defending herself. “And that makes it okay?! If you don’t remember, you attacked us first!” Ash picked up the fallen Misty, her blood dripping on his clothes. “If she weren’t injured so badly I’d knock your freaking block off! I need to get her to a medic! But keep in mind that this isn’t through!” Ash turned on his heel and started to walk away. Oh no, you don’t, Kei thought. “Daisuke, after them!” she yelled. Typhlosion came rushing after Ash. “I SAID ENOUGH!” Ash roared and Pikachu used a strong Thunder that blasted Typhlosion back into Kei, causing them both to topple over. “You try that again and I’ll make sure you won’t live to see another day. I told you I’d take care of you when I get Misty some help. Not before, and not after,” Ash growled, his back still facing Kei, tears streaming down his face. He began walking again towards Kookaburra. Ash’s tears and Misty’s blood left a trail that sometimes intertwined with each other, much like the way they’re compassion for each other did. When Ash reached the hospital in town, Misty began to stir. “Where…?” she asked. “Misty, you’re injured pretty badly. We’re here at the hospital in Kokoboro, everything will be all right, I promise you.” Thoughts of the battle between her and Kei returned to her and her eyes widened and filled up with hot tears, “What about my Politoed, is he all right?! Ash, please, take me to him, please tell me he’s alive!” she pleaded desperately. “I don’t know yet, I haven’t had time to stop at the Pokemon Center yet. We need to get you taken care of-“ Ash was cut off by Misty’s tears. Her attitude had turned from sad to angry. She was angry that Ash wouldn’t take her to see her Pokemon. “Ash, I want to see my Politoed! I need to know if he’s okay. I can wait! I don’t hurt that bad!” she winced as she said this. Misty was not a very good liar. “Misty, I’ll check on Politoed as soon as I get you checked in here. Politoed would be crushed if anything ever happened to you! If you die, he’ll have no reason to go on, you know that.” Ash said, though he said something quietly after that. “What did you say?” she asked. “Nothing.” “Tell me.” “It was no big deal.” “Ash Ketchum, you tell me right now what you said, or I will kick you so hard.” “If you really must know, I said that I would also have no will to go on if you died. You are my best friend in the world, the only one who’s ever really been there for me, you know?” he began blushing. He knew it sounded really corny. Misty began crying again. But these were neither tears of sadness nor anger, but rather, tears of happiness. “Ash, you really mean that?” Misty smiled. “Yes. Now let’s get you checked in before that wound gets infected.” Ash carried Misty over to the lobby counter and asked the nurse for assistance. She immediately called a doctor in with a stretcher and they carried her off to the Emergency Room. Ash called out to her, “I’m going to go check on Politoed, Misty! I’ll be right back, I promise!” He turned around and began to walk out the door when the nurse called, “You’re a dedicated lover, boy. She’s lucky to have someone like you.” Ash nodded and ran out the door, blushing wildly. He wasn’t really with Misty like that. He chuckled a small bit. Luckily Kokoboro was a small town and the medical centers were right across from each other. Ash walked in the Pokemon Center and found Brock holding Politoed. Politoed wasn’t moving. Fear stuck Ash’s heart. What if Politoed was….? Tears welled up in his eyes. “Brock, my God, he’s not dead, is he?” Ash asked. “No. He’s resting, but that blow was fatal. Nurse Joy said he’s lucky I got him there as quick as I did, or he’d be a goner. Where’s Misty?” Brock was almost afraid of the answer. “She’s in the ER. Her face is all slashed up and she has a bad gash on her leg. She’ll be okay, though, I know it.” Ash replied. “If you’re sure….” “She really wants to see Politoed. Is it all right if we take him, Nurse Joy?” Ash asked as she came into the room. “Yes, but when you’re through, please come back so I can give more medicine to Politoed. Without it, his organs may fail. That was no ordinary Dig attack, I’ll tell you that.” “Thank you, Nurse. We’ll come back soon,” Ash said. If I ever see Kei again it’ll be too soon. I’ll kill her if I see her, Ash thought. Brock and Ash arrived back into the hospital lobby. Ash asked if Misty could be visited, and she granted permission. She was a short, cheerful woman. Her hair was brown but it showed signs of graying. She smiled at them as the walked down the hall. Misty’s room number 207, on the left upper wing. Ash saw a gift shop as they were heading to her room. Ash and Brock ventured inside. Ash looked at the flowers, seeing which ones would really cheer Misty up. He didn’t know what kind of flowers she liked or what her favourite colour was. He thought about how she was a Water Pokemon Trainer and came from Cerulean City, and cerulean is a type of blue. He looked at some cerulean coloured roses and wondered what breed they were. He was sure she’d like them, though. He also saw a plush Cyndaquil doll, and remembered how cute she thought his was, and decided to get that for her too. Brock had bought her some Swiss Chocolate and a Get-Well card. When they arrived at Misty’s room, she was staring blankly up at the ceiling, obviously indulged in some deep thinking. Ash knocked softly on the wall, and she stared at them, startled. “Ash you scared me! You too Brock!” she said, smiling. Her Politoed jumped happily into her arms. “Politoed! You’re okay!” She squeezed her beloved Pokemon and kissed its forehead. “We bought you presents!” Brock said. They handed her their hand picked gifts. “Oh, how cute! Thank you so much, guys!” “So, what’d the doctor say?” Ash said. Misty’s smile faded into a serious frown. “They’ll have to amputate my leg and I lost the sight in my right eye,” she replied. Ash sobbed uncontrollably and embraced her as though if he let go he’d lose her forever. “ASH! I was only joking. I’ll be fine, but the scars on leg will never heal,” she replied. Ash was devastatingly hurt at her joke. “That wasn’t funny.” He cried a little bit. “Oh come on, I can joke around sometimes too.” They all laughed, unaware that they were being watched by Kei, Jessie, James, and Meowth. “They’ll pay for humiliating me. I never fail my missions! I’m a Shayla for Christ’s sake’s!” Kei said, determination glaring in her eyes. Jessie, James, and Meowth looked very worried. Well, so ends another chapter.
