Last Chance

Part II

	After a long and weary day of traveling, Jessie, James, Misty, and 
Ash were ready to set up camp.
	"I am so tired," mumbled Misty. 
	"Aren't we all?" agreed James.
	"I'll make some food," said Jessie, trying to act happy. "Um... that
is, if we have any."
	"Pika!" exclaimed Ash's Pokemon, Pikachu.
	"Yes, I know you're hungry," said Ash. "Misty, why don't you make 
some food."
	"That's a good idea," she replied. "That way you won't burn anything
else."
	"Hehehe," said Ash, turning red in the face.
	Although they did not have much food, Misty made a delicious meal.
	"Well, I guess it's time to go to bed," Jessie said.
	Ash yawned. "Yeah, I guess we better hurry up and go to sleep so 
that we can get to Celadon sooner."
	They each went to find a comfortable spot to sleep. Pretty soon 
they were all fast asleep.
	They never heard him coming...
                        *******************
	She awoke in a cage, all by herself. "Where am I?" she thought. Her 
head hurt terribly and her body was sore. Then it all came back to her. 
The fight, the pain, everything. She remembered the way James tried to 
protect her. "James?" she weakly called out.
	 There was no answer. She was all alone. She dragged herself to a 
corner and lay down. Then she started to cry. A man walked up to the bars 
of her cage and unlocked the door. He had some type of stick.
	"Hello Jessie. Nice to see you again."
"Who-"
*TWACK*
	The world around her faded. Then all was black.
                        *******************
	He could still hear her terrified voice calling out to him. "Jessie,
where are you?"
	"James?" 
	He turned to Ash. "What?"
	"You're talking in your sleep," said the young boy. 
	"Oh sorry. Do you know what I wonder?"
	What?" asked Ash.
	"I wonder why they didn't separate us. And I wonder if Jessie and 
Misty were separated too."
	"That's what I was wondering." Ash paused. "You know, we have a lot 
in common."
	"Except that I'm a grown man and that you're an annoying brat," said
James.
	Ash started to smile. "I resent that."
	James smiled too. "You're not that bad, for an annoying brat."
	"And you're not that bad if Jessie's not around."
	James started to frown. "We have to find them. But first we have to
break out of this cage."
	"That shouldn't be to hard if..." Ash's voice trailed off.
	"If what?" asked James.
	But the boy was not paying attention. He was searching for something.
"Ah ha! Alright Pikachu, we need you!"
	"Pika!!!" said the yellow mouse Pokemon.
	"Use iron tail on the cage!" commanded Ash.
	"Pi-ka-chu!" With one swing of his tail, he bored a giant hole in 
the side of the cage. 
	Ash nodded with approval and called back his Pokemon. Then he turned 
to James. "Well? Are you ready?"
	They ran out of the cage in search for the girls.
