A few weeks have passed since Atem, Seto, Ashoko, Yami, Kaiba and Ash left 
Slateport City. They were now in Littleroot Town, ready to see Professor Birch.
 
"Wow. So this is what a futuristic village looks like." Seto said in awe. "The future 
just gets more appealing by the second!"
 
"I'm sure the past was very nice too." Ash commented. "Maybe one day we can 
all take you three back to ancient Egypt."
 
They walked into the lab, but Professor Birch wasn't there. His assistant came 
over to them.
 
"I'm sorry, but you just missed the Professor. He's out by Route 101 if you want 
to see him."
 
So they all went to Route 101 and found the Professor studying some wild 
Sentret.
 
"Oh, hello Ash! Nice to see you again! I see Yami and Kaiba are still traveling 
with you. But who are they?"
 
"This is Atem. He's the past form of Yami. Over there is Seto, the past form of 
Kaiba. And that's Ashoko, the past form of me."
 
"Nice to meet all of you. Do you all have Pokémon?"
 
Atem answered, "Actually, we do. In the past, Pokémon existed in Egypt and we 
caught some."
 
"Can I see them?"
 
So Atem, Seto and Ashoko released their Pokémon. The Professor examined 
each one and said they were well trained. 
 
"And before I forget, you three each need a Pokédex."
 
"Pokédex?" Ashoko asked. "What's that?"
 
"It's a device that records data on all of the Pokémon in the world."
 
"Back in the past, we just wrote what Pokémon we found on papyrus." Seto said. 
"This way sounds a lot easier and faster. If only we could just learn how the 
future's technology works."
 
"It's not hard." Yami said. "You'll learn very quickly."
 
Ash was growing impatient. "If they're going to register for register for the Hoenn 
League, we better get to Oldale Town. I wanna get the rest of my badges soon."
 
"Wait a little longer, Ash." Kaiba assured him. "We'll get there. Ashoko, Atem and 
Seto have to get comfortable first."
 
"They're comfortable! Let's go!" Ash took them all and dragged them out of the 
lab. "Bye, Professor."
 
"Er…bye?" Professor Birch said nervously.
 
"HEY! ASH! What's the big rush?" Atem asked. "We have all the time in the 
world."
 
"No, Atem, he's got an over inflated ego. That means we have to go now." Yami 
said. He pulled out his Walkman and began listening to it, but then, Atem, Seto 
and Ashoko grabbed it and examined it.
 
"Ooh! What a device! But what is it exactly? And what does it do?" Seto asked.
 
Yami explained to them that a Walkman was used to listen to CD's. Then he had 
to explain what CD's were. He also told them about his favorite band, Linkin 
Park, and his favorite singer, Ryan Cabrera.
 
"Yay." Ashoko said in a sarcastic tone. "More stuff we don't know about. I just 
wish we weren't here. I wanna go back home to Egypt where we belong."
 
"We can't go back." Atem told him. "We're stuck here. Forever. So we have to 
learn to live in this world."
 
"LET'S GO, SLOWPOKES!" Ash yelled from the top of a hill. 
 
"Well, come on! We have more stuff to see!" Seto said.
 
So the 6 of them walked along the path to Oldale Town.
