It was a beautiful morning in the town of Skypole. I had just woken up. I was 
finally 10 years old and ready for my 1st Pokémon, along with my best friends 
Brian Shade and Nic Wing. We met at Professor Maple's lab.
 
"Who's ready for a big adventure?" I asked.
 
"We are!" they shouted.
 
"I see we're all excited now aren't we?" Professor Maple had come outside. 
 
"Hey Professor!" I said. "Can we get our Pokémon now?" 
 
"Sure! Come on inside!"
 
We followed the professor in the lab and she released 3 starter Pokémon. They 
were Sentret, Ponyta and Pidgey.
 
"Ok now pick."
 
I thought about it for a minute. "I want Ponyta ," I announced.
 
Nic said, "I'll take Pidgey."
 
"I guess I'm left with Sentret." Brian said. 
 
"Now," the professor said, "you'll need these Poké Balls and this Pokédex to help 
you. Good luck on your journeys!"
 
"Thanks Professor!" Nic said. "We'll be sure to do our best!"
 
A crowd had gathered outside of the lab cheering for us. Then my greatest rival, 
Frank Loggon had walked out with a Poké Ball in his hand.
 
"Well, well, well." Frank sneered. "Looks like you've got a weak starter! My 
Drowzee is far better than your Ponyta!"
 
"Oh yeah?" I shot back. "Wanna battle me?"
 
"Yeah! This shouldn't take long! Go Drowzee! Use Pound!"
 
"Ponyta! Use Ember and then Stomp!"
 
Drowzee fainted. I had just won my very 1st Pokémon battle!
 
"Awesome Courtney!" Brian said. "Well, we'd better go to Hieroglyph Town to 
register for the Psyto League."
 
"Ok" Nic said. "Then we can go get our 1st badge!"

It's the beginning of a new adventure…and in case you're wondering, the 
characters live in Psyto, a new region by Hoenn and it's shaped like an
