Ash just lay on his bed. It was two years after he became Pokémon master, two 
years after Misty left him. He yearned for her like Pikachu yearned for Ash. He 
couldn't understand why he told nobody about this.

When he was ten he never understood what Misty had meant. Then again, he 
was a mere immature ten-year-old boy with a stubborn attitude. Now, at 
eighteen, he fully understood. He knew Misty had loved him and he felt the same 
way. There was only one problem-how to tell Misty. Ash knew he couldn't just go 
up to her and say, "Misty I want you back." That would be a stupid move and a 
foolish one. The day Misty abandoned him would live in his heart forever…

while. But I'll be back one day."
 
"I know where you're going Ash. Good luck!"
 
He opened the door and set out for Cerulean City, Pikachu at his side.
