Chapter One
Portal to a New World
Starting up her game boy advance SP, a young teenage girl by the name of 
Kristen, just got the new released game for the Pokemon games. Sliding in the 
Emerald version, she let the beginning of the game play through while watching 
pokemon on her television. All of a sudden, all the electricity in her house 
went completely out including her game which was not at all hooked up to her 
outlet. 
A blinding light of different colors enveloped her bedroom causing Kristen to 
pass out. Now all of the different colors changed into a starry background with 
Kristen floating in the middle of it all. Since Kristen was out like a light, 
she didn’t notice that her appearance changed.
Finally, the starry background vanished and Kristen was lying down on a 
different bed. Two hours passed before she woke up.

“What just happened” said Kristen, noticing that she was wearing a light blue 
nightgown. 

“Kristen, sweetheart, breakfast is ready. You better get down her before your 
father eats it all” said a mysterious lady, from down stairs. Walking down the 
flight of stairs, Kristen noticed a lady with lavender hair and icy blue eyes.
“Excuse me, but who are you” asked Kristen, scared to go any closer to the lady.
“Why do you ask such a silly question? I’m your mother and if you don’t get a 
move on, you are going to be late to get your first pokemon from Professor Elm” 
said the lady.
“Hold on a sec. Are you saying that pokemon are real because from what I know 
pokemon is a television show, video game and other merchandises” said Kristen, 
in a nervous voice. 

“Sweetheart, did you just hit her head on your bed again” said a man, from the 
kitchen table. The man was well built with short black hair and amber yellow 
eyes. 
“I did not bump my head on the bed. I must be dreaming this can not be real” 
screamed Kristen, not wanting to belief anything they were saying.
After an hour or two pass, the lady and man understood that Kristen was not from 
their world. “You’re still our daughter none the less while you are in this 
world” said the lady, who revealed that her name was Sara Lightstone. 

“Yeah, I understand that. So, I’m going to go change right now. I’ll be back 
down in a little while” said Kristen, walking back up to her new room. 
When she re-entered her new room, she realized that her room was mainly just 
black and red. “Seems like my favorite colors are all over the place” said 
Kristen, walking to her closet and pulling out some clothes. Changing out of the 
nightgown, Kristen now wore a federal blue top with yellow cap sleeves with 
khaki short-shorts and purple sneakers with gray socks. 

“These clothes are actually pretty comfortable. I just wished that there were 
pants in the closet instead of dresses, miniskirts and short-shorts. I hate 
girly stuff” said Kristen, walking down the stairs.
“You look so cute in those clothes, sweetheart” said Sara, handing Kristen a 
plate of food. 
“Please don’t say cute. These eggs are really good. What is in them” asked 
Kristen. 
“Just some mago berries that I added” said the man, whose name is Iki. 
“ Mago berries? Aren’t they found in the Hoenn region” asked Kristen. 
“Yes, those berries are found in the Hoenn region. Your uncle lives out there” 
replied Sara. 
“So, I have an uncle in the Hoenn region. Who is he” asked Kristen, finishing 
her breakfast and placing the plate in the sink. “He’s the gym leader of the 
Dewford gym and my brother” said Iki. 
“Brawly is my uncle. Hold on a sec. I should be in my game meaning I should be 
in Littleroot town. Why am I in New Bark Town in the Johto region” asked 
Kristen, confused. 
“You said that our world is made-up and that it’s a television show. Were you 
watching television at that time” asked Sara. 
“Yes, I was watching television but I was also playing my emerald game” Kristen 
replied . 
“Maybe, you were meant to be here and not in the game” said Iki.
“Well, I should get to the lab at this moment” said Kristen, about to walk out 
the front door. 
“You should get your tote bag before you leave. It’s in the exercising room were 
you father left it to make sure you had everything” said Sara, pointing to a 
nearby room. 
“Now why would you check my bag” asked Kristen, eyeing her so-called new father. 
“I’m a little over-protective at times” replied Iki, slightly blushing at the 
time. 
“I hear you on that. So am I when I’m worried about my twin sister” said 
Kristen, opening the door to be pummeled by the family pokemon. 
“Manectric manect”, said a blue like wolf with yellow like armor, licking 
Kristen non-stop. 
“So we have a Manectric. How do you stop it from licking” laughed Kristen. 
“Like this. Manectric, there are some leftover eggs for you” said Sara, laying a 
plate down on the floor for the pokemon. Manectric finally got off Kristen and 
began eating the food that Sara gave him. 
“Found my bag. Better get going. I call you when I reach Cherrygrove City” said 
Kristen, leaving the house. While walking to the lab, Kristen looked into a 
nearby stream and saw that she was completely different. 
“So my hair is now black instead of light brown. Including my eyes, now there 
icy blue instead of hazel” said Kristen, who stopped looking at herself and 
began her way to the lab again. 
“I am so excited. Not only am I going to see Professor Elm but I’m going to get 
my first pokemon. This is the best day of my life” said Kristen, walking down 
the dirt road to the lab.
