Futures Past By: Zapdos1Alpha zapdos1alpha@hotmail.com AAMRN Part 2 ~ ~ ~ ~ Back home in Kanto... Misty woke that morning with a start. For a moment she felt like her whole world was collapsing in front of her eyes. Thinking to herself that it all must be remnants of a nightmare she pushed the feelings aside and began to get ready for the day. Tonight was to be the Pokemon Ball. Ash, Misty and Sarah were all going to attend, Misty as the still reigning Pokemon League Champion and Pokemon Master, and Ash as the American League Champion. Ash was due home later that day. Misty hurried down to the kitchen and began making breakfast. She knew it wouldn't be long until Sarah was awake, and she hated to miss breakfast. Misty had just pulled the last bit of breakfast off the stove when a small but very familiar voice entered, screaming, into the kitchen. "Mommy, mommy are we going to the pokemon ball tonight?" Sarah yelled as she ran up to Misty. "Yes we are. Just as soon as your father gets home." She replied "now sit down and eat your breakfast." "When will he be here? I hate it when daddy goes to New York and we can't go" she said heartbrokenly. "I know darling. But mommy had to stay behind and tend to pokemon league business here. Daddy really wanted us to go, but I couldn't, and you wanted to stay here with me." Misty said in a soothing voice. "I have an idea. Why don't we call daddy." "Yeah lets call daddy." She said and ran to the phone, breakfast forgotten for the moment. Laughing to herself, misty joined her daughter and helped her dial the number to Ash's office in New York. Once done Sarah shot back to the kitchen to start eating. Too much like her father, inhale everything and taste it later. The phone rang a few times before it was picked up. "Hello. American Pokemon League Headquarters, This is Dennis. How can I help you?" the man said. "Hello Mr. Ketchum." Misty said politely "Oh hello Misty. How are you doing?" Dennis asked "I'm doing great. Is Ash still there?" She asked "No he left a few hours ago. He should be home soon. I know he was in the new supersonic transport and should have only take around eight hours to get home." Dennis replied. "Hmm. Okay. I just had someone here that wanted to talk to her daddy." Misty replied to him. "How is she doing?" Dennis asked. "Why don't you ask her yourself." She said. "Sarah come here someone wants to say hi to you." "Daddy!" Sarah yelled and climbed into the chair with a piece of toast in her small hand. "No it's not your daddy." Dennis said smiling. "How is papas little girl doing?" "Papa. Where is daddy?" she asked dodging the question again much like her father. "Your daddy is on his why home now. He should be there shortly. Now how are you? Your getting big, I see." He said to her "Yeah. Daddy says I can go on my pokemon journey soon." She said proudly "Well in a few more years. You're only six. You can't get your pokemon license until you turn ten. Keep training though. I know you will be a pokemon master like your mom and dad." He told her. "Kay. I'll keep training papa. I'm going to go wait for daddy now. I love you papa." With that she quickly kissed the screen and went up to her room to wait. When misty got back to the phone Dennis was softly laughing. He loved his grand daughter as much as ash's mom and stepfather. "So he left a few hours ago?" she asked worried "Yes he did. I can't say where the plane is now." He replied. "If he left a few hours ago, he should be almost here." Misty replied. "Sarah is wanting him to come home. She is so excited about going to the Pokemon Ball tonight." "Ash couldn't stop talking about it. He really loves you two." Dennis replied, then turned to speak to someone off the screen. "Oops I have to go. Someone else is trying for a challenge at ash. The American League has come far with Ash leading it." Misty nodded with that remark. "The Pokemon League here did the same thing when Ash was Champion" She said. "We'll leave you to your battle. Take care and goodbye." Misty hung up after that and began to wait. ~ ~ ~ ~ Misty looked at the clock for about the thousandth time that day. It was now six in the evening and Ash still wasn't home yet. If what Dennis said was true it should have only taken a little more than eight hours for ash to get home. Misty got up and phoned the Pokemon League. They did confirm that Ash had taken the new supersonic transport to New York and that the flight time was just under eight and a half hours. She thanked them and then decided to call Dennis again. "Hello." Dennis answered. "Misty, what's wrong?" "Ash hasn't made it home yet." She replied with a slight panic in her voice. "What?" he asked surprised. "He left here nearly fifteen hours ago. He should have been home long before now." "I know I'm worried and Sarah is getting scared. He has never not returned home from New York." She said. "Okay. I'll start looking for him. Marilyn is calling the flight control center here in New York. She is going to get the flight plan and try to figure out where the plane would leave the regions radar and track its movements." He said. "I don't want to lose my son." "And I don't want to lose my husband." Misty replied. "I don't think Sarah nor I could bear that kind of pain." Dennis hung his head at that remark. He knew what pain she was referring to. It was just as hard on him as it was on ash and his mom. "Oh god Dennis. I'm sorry. I didn't mean..." "To say that." He finished "Actually you did because you're worried. I'm worried too Misty. Lord knows I'll do everything I can to find him. Marilyn says she has a copy of the flight plan. I'll have Cyrix go and follow it. He can fly almost as fast as the supersonic transport. We'll find him." Dennis replied "Okay Dennis. I'll wait for your word and thank you." Misty replied back. "Goodbye." Misty hung up after that. All of her thoughts were on ash and for sarah. She knew that ash's mom and stepfather needed to know. Knowing all of security measures that the American airlines had to put up with would keep the people on the planes safe. This was a private pokemon league jet. It was purchased especially for Ash's trips to and from America. Misty quickly recorded a new message on the machine and gave the number to where she could be reached to Sharron. She gathered up her things and got Sarah buckled in her car seat and they headed to Pallet Town to ashes mom. ~ ~ ~ ~ "And that is all the information I have now." Misty said to ash's parents. "Well it looks like all that can be done at the moment is being done." Sam replied. "All we can do now is hope and pray." The silence of the moment was broken by the ringing of the phone. Professor Oak got up to answer it. It was some time before he returned. When he did he had a very grim look on his face. "That was Dennis. He said that the plane went off of the flight control tower in Colorado. It was then picked up by the control center in Utah. It just crossed into the state when the planes transponder signal went dark. They have been trying since early this morning to locate the planes transponder with no luck. They believe the plane crashed some where in the mountains of Utah. Where they are unsure. They do know where the transponder was last seen. Dennis is sending Cyrix there to search for the plane. It can cover more distance than a person or plane can." He said to the three ladies relaying the news. "Mommy is daddy coming home?" Sarah asked with scared eyes. "Yes baby. With any luck he'll be home soon. How long it will be I don't know." Misty replied hugging Sarah to her "Kay mommy." She said and cuddled up close to her mother. Misty looked over to sarah's grandmother the words were unspoken but the need was answered. "Sarah, sweetie. Come with grandma. Show me your Pichu." She said and took Sarah to the training center. Once they had left the room misty broke down and began to cry. Professor Oak put his arm around her and comforted the young lady. Misty looked to him like a father. She had a father one that she had never known. She hadn't known either of my parents. She knew who they were but she didn't know where they were or who they were exactly. Only Violet knew. It was hard. "I don't know if I can do the same thing that she did with ash." Misty said between sobs "Delia is a strong woman. So are you. You'll do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Until then you have both of us." Sam said to her. "Delia is hurting now too. I can see it in her eyes. But she is being strong so that you don't have to right now. That is why she took Sarah out. So you can be right where you are now." He said comfortingly. "Why ash and why now?" I asked to no one particular. "I don't know misty." He replied. "It's like a cruel game that is being played with the Ketchum family. But we never know what our future holds." He said as misty cried harder than she ever had her whole life. ~ ~ ~ ~ Later that night misty took sarah out for a walk to take her mind off her father. Misty however could only think of ash. They were cutting through the preserve behind the lab. A lot of ash's pokemon were out there now. They didn't make a move towards Misty or Sarah because they knew them. The pokemon watched them closely as they walked protecting them from harm. Soon they were near the cliffs over looking the valley with the Ketchum house in the distance. It was the spot where ash had asked misty to marry him. It was also one of Sarah's favorite spots. Sarah was practically dragging misty up there when she suddenly stopped and Misty almost ran into her. "Sarah?" Misty questioned "Shh, mommy. There is a pokemon in those bushes. I want to catch it for you." She said and was holding out her hand waiting for a pokeball. Misty quietly gave her one of her empty pokeballs and sarah left her mothers side. Misty was thinking to herself that if it was another bug pokemon she was going to kill ash for getting sarah to like them. It was a short time later when sarah returned and handed misty the pokeball. "I did it mommy. I caught you a pokemon." She said laughing. Misty had to admit her pichu was a strong little thing. "I told pichu to use thunder and it fainted. The ball you gave me was an ultra ball and caught it easily. See what it is mommy." "Okay. Settle down. Pokeball go." Misty said and released the pokemon. It was nothing she had ever seen before. Misty pulled out her pokedex and found no record for the pokemon. That was very strange since the pokedex she had was one of the newer ones detailing all the pokemon from the Kanto, Jhoto, and Hoenn areas. "What is it mommy?" Sarah asked my impatiently. "I don't know darling. But I know who would. We need to go back to Grandma and Grandpas house." She replied and returned the small pokemon. A short walk and they were back. Misty explained everything to Professor Oak. "Hmm come on lets go see what it is." He said and led us all to the training facility. Misty released the pokemon and he stood in shock. It took some time before he found his voice. "Misty you said Sarah caught this pokemon with her pichu and a pokeball you gave her?" he questioned "Yes that's right. She said that there was a pokemon in the bushes and that she wanted to catch it for me. I gave her the ultra ball and she used her pichu to thunder attack it and it fainted. When she gave me the ball that pokemon was inside." Misty replied back to him. He stood there and stared at the pokemon, Sarah and her pichu. "I just don't believe it." He started again. "Misty what you have there is Celebi. The time travel pokemon. It is rare to say the least. Its rarity ranks up there with the legendary bird and cat pokemon." "Wait your telling me that this little pokemon is a legendary?" Misty questioned "Yes. And how Sarah caught it is beyond me. This pokemon has power and strength far outreaching mews." He replied. "Sarah can you tell me how you caught this pokemon?" "Yeah. I went into the bushes after seeing it there. It was sleeping and I had pichu shock it with a thunder attack. It didn't wake up so I threw the pokeball. It struggled for a minute and then it was captured." She told her grandpa. "I see. Thank you sweetheart." He said nodding as she went to play. "Well there you have it. She caught it while it was asleep. How would she know that it was a pokemon?" "Well, Ash has been teaching her about all the different types from here, Johoto, and America. He said it was to prepare her for her pokemon journey." She replied. "Well Its been captured. And it will obey only you Misty since it was your ball that caught it. I'll need to study it further before I can give you any information as to its attacks and defensive moves." He said "Right now its time for bed. We'll get more news on ash in the morning, as well as on your new pokemon." Nodding they all turned in for the night. Misty's only wish that night was that ash was okay. ~ ~ ~ ~ Part 1 and 2 didn't need much work at all, its later in the story that needs to really be fixed. The rest is on its way.
