Prologue

Disclaimer: I don not own anything Pokemon. 4Kids Entertainment, Nintendo, Game Freak, and 
WB do. All I own is a few games and the rights to this story.

I do not own anything Star Trek related. Characters and any reference to the Star Trek world is 
owned by Paramount. Again I own the rights to this story.

I also do not own the X-Men. That is trademarked and copyrighted by Marvel Comics.

A/N: Well I'm back writing. I have absolutely no idea as to the length of this story or exactly where 
it will be heading. This story has been in the pre-write stage now for over a year. Life keeps 
getting in the way. For those of you too young to understand you will once you get jobs and get 
married. I do have this story and another being written at the same time. Hopefully this will not 
take long to write, but since its been so long in the pre-write stage, well we'll see.

Time frame for this story is the summer following the Jhoto Silver League, second journey 
through Jhoto. Ash and Misty are 16, Brock is 19.

It is a warm summers night. Ash, Misty and Brock are traveling through the Ilex Forest, this time 
to revisit the Alph Ruins in hopes of catching some rare pokemon.

"It has been a better trip through this time." A young lady said while she laid out her sleeping bag.
"It sure has misty." Ash Ketchum replied to her. "After the Jhoto League, its mice to take the time 
and enjoy the journey for once."
"I have to agree there." Brock said shaking his head in agreement. "And thankfully wood for the 
fire tonight is just a stones throw away, literally." He continued while pointing to the fallen trees 
around the camp. "No traipsing through the woods tonight for firewood tonight." Ash and misty 
both chuckled at this last remark.
"I saw a lake a through the trees a little ways back. There was a trail leading to it just over that 
hill. I think I'll head down for a swim before dinner." Misty said. "It sure would be nice just to sit 
and rest for a few days." She continued hinting at her desires. Ash did pick up on it quickly.
"I don't see why we can't" Ash replied. "I'm in no hurry to get to the ruins. Besides natu will still be 
there."
"Hmm" Brock started while tasting dinner, "why not catch the evolved form of zatu?"
"I want to catch natu. That way I can raise it right so when it evolves it will be more trusting of me 
and more powerful." Ash responded smartly.
"Great attitude to have Ash." Misty said smiling at him over her shoulder. "Well I'm off to that lake 
for a bit. See you guys in a while."
"Okay Misty. Dinner will be ready soon. We'll call you when it's ready. Brock replied and turned 
his attention back to dinner.

As misty walked off ash watched her longingly. Just before misty crested the small hill she turned 
back and flashed a smile at ash. He blushed furiously and adverted his gaze. She had known he 
was watching her leave. He had done that a lot lately. Maybe her dream was finally coming true 
and ash was starting to like her more than being just friends. That thought made her heart skip a 
beat and the smile on her face grow even bigger. A moment later ash looked back up at her. He 
noticed right away that she was still looking at him smiling. He returned her smile in kind with the 
hopes that the promise he made himself would be able to be done and soon. Misty turned slowly 
and finished disappearing down the path to the lake.

Misty made her way to the lake and all the while her mind was on ash. She had noticed him 
watching her leave camp. She also noticed that ash was paying her a significant amount of 
attention. More than he ever paid to her in the past. Misty had noticed to that ash was finally 
growing up, he had filled out more, and his voice was deepening. To her, it was heaven. Sighing 
she came out of her fog as she arrived at the lake. She called out staryu to guard her, and then 
she slipped behind a bush to quickly change into her swimming suit. With in minutes she was 
enjoying the warm water of the lake. After a short while she climbed out onto a boulder and sat 
looking up at the stars letting the warm night air dry her. A shooting star crossed her vision and 
she made a wish. She thought to herself that it would be someday. She sat and continued to 
stargaze until a bright flash caught her eye. She didn't think much about it because the forest was 
full of ledyba and they flashed when they were playful. In the distance she heard brock calling to 
her, letting her know supper was ready. She sighed, changed quickly then ran back to camp.

In another time, another place a flash appears. A lone figure stands floating in the inky blackness 
of deep space. This region was not known to have a lot of stars showing in the void. The figure 
watches as a speck of light is seen. It grows steadily larger as does the smile on the beings face. 
Traveling the void the speck continues to grow as it nears a shape emerges. It is a ship, proud 
and beautiful taking its crew to the far reaches of the galaxy. Across the prow of the ship a name 
appears written across the curving hull. NCC-1701-E U.S.S. Enterprise, streaks past the being 
and that being was now laughing.
"New ship. Same old crew, but there are a few new faces. Its time to test them again." Q said to 
himself in the void of space. "This time with a different dimension than the X-Men." With a flash 
he was gone leaving nothing but the dissipating warp field of the Enterprise.

Misty had returned from her swim and the three friends had just sat down to a joke filled supper. 
While talking amongst themselves, there was bright flash from the woods. None of them thought 
much of it since the ledyba were playful that night. I the shadows of the darkened forest a lone 
figure stood, watching the three. He thought to himself for a while but remained calm and 
thoughtful.
"That was a great dinner brock." Ashe said with a squeak to his voice. He promptly cleared his 
throat. Misty grinned wickedly.
"Thanks ash." Brock replied chuckling a little. "My famous no chew stew does it again."
"Well guys I'm off to bed." Misty said after washing her bowl and storing them. "Good night." She 
finished as she crawled into her sleeping bag.
"Good night." Ash said in a deeper voice and flashed a smile at her. Mistys face flushed a little, 
but she returned his smile.
"Night" Brock responded while clearing the remnants of dinner and getting ready for the next 
mornings breakfast. Ash pulled out his journal and began to make the days entry. It always took 
him a while to write his journal entry. He wished that he could use the journal on his pokedex but 
it was full and he was unable to transfer the files to his home PC.
"Making out your journal entry?" brock half commented and questioned. Ash merely nodded a yes 
while being deep in thought.
"Well I'm off to bed too. Please watch the fire." Brock asked and also crawled into his sleeping 
bag.
"I will and good night." Ash replied and returned to writing his entry. Q watched all this from the 
shadows. Even though he was omnipotent he had learned a thing or two about the feelings of 
others. He waited for ash to finish his entry. A short time later ash got up, stored his journal and 
picked up his pokeball belt. He finished fastening it and motioned for Pikachu.
"Time for a walk buddy." Ash said. "I need to think a little."
"Kachu." Pikachu replied to his friend and master. Q snapped his fingers and thought to himself 
that this would be fun to watch. A cold wind swept through the forest and ash thought that it was 
awfully cold for mid summer. He noticed a small colorful light appear just down the trail from the 
camp.
"What the hell is that?" Ash commented to pikachu
"pi ka chu?" He replied. The light grew in size and the wind grew stronger with it. Ash turned and 
hurried the few steps back to his sleeping bag and grabbed his pack. Just as he laid his hands on 
his pack his feet lifted from the ground and was pulled towards the light.
"SHIT!!!" Ash exclaimed as he sailed past Misty in her sleeping bag. Ash's bag snagged on a 
fallen tree and he saw misty wake up.
"Ash what's wrong why did you swear like that?" She asked then the scene registered in her half-
sleep leaded mind. "Oh my god, Ash!" Brock woke up with her yelling and saw her rush past and 
grab onto ash's wrist. Misty was pulling with all her might but she couldn't move ash.
"Brock get a rope ash is in trouble!" She yelled. "I can't hold him for long."
"Ash!" Brock exclaimed and rushed with a rope in hand from his pack.
'Well they have a strong bond. Lets send them all' Q thought to himself and snapped his fingers a 
second time. The wind picked up violently and began to howl all towards the light.
"Whaaa!" Brock screamed as he was lifted from his feet. He tried to hook the rope around the 
tree, but missed. "Ash, Misty, some one hee.." He was cut off as he disappeared into the light.
"Pikapiiiiiiiiiiii!" Pikachu yelled as he was pulled in and vanished. The camp followed all the gear 
disappeared. Ash's pack worked loose and all that was holding him back was mistys strength, 
and it was rapidly failing.
"Ash I can't hold on." She said with tears streaming down her face.
"I know mist." He said with a calm face. "Let me go and save yourself."
"I can't ash." She made up her mind there to tell him. "Ash I love you." Ash blinked for a moment 
then smiled. He felt his hand start to slip from misty's grasp.
"I love..." Was all he could say as he was pulled into the light. Misty felt the pull on her but she 
was braced behind the fallen tree. She crawled to the end of the log and looked around to the 
light. She made her decision and with a look of harsh determination she stood and was pulled in 
to the light and vanished as well. With in seconds the light itself disappeared and the forest was 
left in silence as the wind died.
"Did you see that Jessie?" James asked in awe.
"Yes I did but I don't believe it." Jessie replied.
"I don't believe it either. But what eva tat was, the twerps are gone." Meowth replied to both. Not a 
one saw the flash signaling Q's return to where he came from.
