The time has come, my fellow freinds, to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships and ceiling wax, cabbages and kings! And why the sea is boiling hot, and wether pigs have wings Kelo! Kolay! Enjoy today! We're cabbages and kings! I collapsed on my bed in my room. I was so tired I thought I could sleep for a week! Every bit of me was sore. Who knew it took so much to bend a spoon! channeling the energy inside me was the toughest partof it all.I It requires alot of concentration. My mind feels like it split in two. Zach and Sabrina really have me working hard. I've been training at the temple for weeks now, and I think I'm starting to improve. Brock, Max, and May left a week ago. They got letters from home that they needed to attend to. I miss them though. But Zach and Sabrina keep me occupied enough, with the occasional help of Master Gennin. Zach and Sabrina sighned up at once to train me. Master Gennin agreed, for he wanted me to be trained by people I'm most familiar with, that way it makes it easier....but not by much. Even though I've been here for so long, I'm still taking in this fact. I'm a psycic. It somehow just doesn't seem possible. After all I've been through, telecenisis would have been helpful in a lot of situations. The struggle with the rockets and Mewtwo, the fight between Lugia, Zapados, Moltres, and Articuno, and a whole bunch of situations. But why did nothing happen? But then I remembered. Something did happen. I how was it that none of us had died during those scraps. No matter what happened, things always turned out in our favor. It seemed impossible that some of the things happened the way they did, but it happened anyway. I shut my eyes for a moment and thought. I thought of home. Of all the pokemon back at Prof. Oaks lab. I thought of all the friends I made in my journey. Then I thought of her. She seemed so close, yet so far. How could I possibly tell her now? After all these years, how do I know she's not already taken? I don't... I sat up as Jek the chronicler walked into my quarters. He bowed and said,"Master Gennin wishes to see you." I got up out of my bed and followed Jek. This was not uncommon for the Council to speak with me. They have done so at least a dozen times since I got here. I was wondering what they were going to have me do when I saw that Master Gennin was in the council room. He was sitting at an old Go board, smoking one of the erbal pipes I saw Zach use. He looked up as he saw me approach. "Ah, Ash,"He said warmly. "Come in." "You wished to see me, Master?"I asked. "Yes,"he said. "I believe that it's time your training advanced." "Sir?" He smiled. "Please, sit down."He said, indicating to the seat on the other side of the Go board. I was a little puzzled. "Sorry?" "Your training starts now,"He replied simply. "Sit." I sat down, not knowing what he was going at. He placed the tin of Go peices on my side of the board. "Begin the game,"he said. I obliged and moved my piece. I saw about three good places that Gennin could move to, but to my suprise, he took neither of them. he took a place as far away from my piece as he possibly could. I moved my next pawn and he did the same thing, avoiding the good spots and choosing the useless spots. After a while he had left himself wide open for attack. I could hardly believe that this game was ending so quickly, especially saying that Master Gennin is the best Go player in the temple. I moved my last pawn into position for attack. It was perfect. I looked up at Gennin and to my suprise, he was smiling. "Good game,"he said, still smiling. "But I'm afraid it was not enough." "What do you-"I began, but when I looked down at the board, it seemed that he had moved his pawn and driven my troops into a stalemate. I could not believe it. I had him. How could he have pulled this off. He smiled at my astonishment. "Do you see the stradegy of the game?" "It's a stalemate,"I said. "Correct." "But how did-?" "By exploiting the obviouse,"said Gennin. "I was able to determan your actions into my favor." "Oh,"I said. "You read me like an open book." "But that's not the only way,"Gennin continued. "While you exploited the obviouse, I chose the unexpected. Eventually I was able to lure you into a trap." "But neither of us won,"I said. "My goal was not to win,"Gennin replied. "But to Prevent you from winning. By ending in a stalemate, I was able to accomplish this, even if I had to sacrifice my glory. But that is as much a win to me." I understood. He just wanted to see my actions. If he could tell where I was going to go, he could know where to put his pawns in an unexpected, but nonetheless effective place. "But what does this have to do with my training, master?"I asked confused. "Well, let's think,"he replied. "I was able to counter your moves with my unexpected ones. Would you have thought of it?"He added. I paused. "No,"I said. "I wouldn't have." Gennin nodded. I continued to think. "So what you're saying is, that you shouldn't trust on the simple way?" He nodded again. I continued. "And that the obiouse path isn't always the right path." "Go on." "And that sometimes the unexpected path is the obviouse path." Gennin beamed. "Exactly!" I continued to think. "But I don't understand,"I said after a bit. "How will I know what path is the right one?" "The answer will reveal itself when the moment is right,"Gennin replied. "But when the path does show, only you can follow it." Then the words again popped into my head:'only you can walk the path.' Gennin continued to smile. "I think the answer to that particular problem will reveal itself sooner than you think." I looked up into suprise. Gennin still smiled solemnly. "Did...?"I began, but he just continued to smile. I got up. "Never mind,"I said, bowing. "Thank you, master." He bowed as well. I exited the council room and walked at a fast pace back to my quarters, thinking of what just happened. 'Did he read my mind?'I asked myself. 'How else would he know what I was thinking?' As I reached my quarters I was struck with a sudden awareness. That voice. Could it have been his? If he had known about my dream, could it have been his voice? But it hit me; It couldn't have been. It was a female voice. But to how that voice sounded so familiar, I do not know. I just know that I've heard that voice somewhere before, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was going to find out real soon. Kelo! Kolay! Reveiw today! We're cabbages and Kings! thanks!
