Here's chapter six! Sorry it took so long. Hope you enjoy! Running.....all alone......must see...where I am....must....find....help.... "Your alone..." What? "No one to help you..." No. "Abandoned..." Never! "Forever....Lost..." Stop.. "You...like your father...are now.....Mine!" NO! I awoke with a start. Breathing hard and sweating. He spoke. The figure actually spoke. His voice was so cold. So full of hatred. It was frightening. Frightening... But what the most frightening was the voice, suprisingly, the satisfaction in it. It was as if he had just accomplished an unattainable goal. This puzzled me even grater. I thought I was just a pawn in the way to the king, but why me? Why would he want me? I got up and got into my kimono. Mabey I should tell the council about this dream, but it would really suprise me if Dennin didn't already know. I guess if he wanted me to know about it, he would have adressed me on it. But I can't leave it be for long. I have to tell someone. I'll tell Zach. He is my mentor after all. Yes, it would be wise. He'll know what to do. I headed down to Zach's quarters, took a deep breath, and knocked. But the door did not open. I knocked again. Nothing. I headed down into the Grand hall to look for him, but he wasn't there either. "Jek,"I asked the chronicler as he passed by. "Have you seen Master Jones?" "No,"he replied. "I believe he left." "Left?"I said suprised. "Where?" "Don't rightly know,"Jek replied. "But he did leave me this holodisk for you." He handed me the small disk, bowed, and walked off. I examined it for a bit, and turned it on. A small hologram of Zach appeared out of the disk. "Ash,"It said. "As soon as this holodisk is over, you are to report to the council. I'm sorry to leave so quickly without so much as a 'by your leave' but I have some loose ends to tie up. Something is not quite right. I'm sure the council has sensed it just as much as I have, and I felt that I must meet this growing threat. I was given permission, however reluctently, to take up this task. "But there is something more to this, Ash,"said the hologram in a more seriouse tone. "But we fear that the events from years ago are coming to pass. But on that I can say no more, for the council will explain everything. Just remember this Ash: I knew your father. He was the best man I ever met. He cared for people just as much as I did. It was a very sad day at his parting, for me in particular. For he was more than a freind, He was my brother. "Before I close this holodisk, I want you to listen to me very carefully,"Continued Zach's hologram. "Train very hard, heed every advice the council gives you, and never let your friends go. Protect them and cherish them, for your friends are your family, and without your family's help, you are nothing. Do this, and you will become an even greater psycic than your father." And the hologram disappeared, leaving me drowning in the words which it just said. Why did he leave so suddenly? They fear the events of years ago are coming to pass? What does he mean? And my father..? But then I remembered that I'm supposed to report to the council. I rushed up the spiral stairs and headed toward the council chambers. But why did they want to see me? What could this mean? I reached the council chambers, but the door swung open before I could knock. I walked down the hall until I reached the chambers, and when I did I was knocked up againsed the wall in a swirl of brown hair. At first I thought I was under attack, but I looked up and saw the beaming face of May. "May?"I said, stunned. "What are you doing here?" "We're so glad your safe!"she exclaimed! I looked around her and saw Max and Brock sitting in front of the council, smiling, But with them, to my suprise, was Tracey, Todd, Richie, with Pikachu on his shoulder and even Gary. "Hey, Your all here!"I exclaimed as they got up to greet me, Pikachu climbing up to my shoulder. "We couldn't let you have all the fun, man!"said Richie, embracing me like a brother, Todd right behind him. Tracey came up and put his hand on my shoulder. "Good to see you again, Ash,"he said. "Likewise,"I said, shaking his hand. I saw Gary slowly walk up behind him, looking kind of lost, as if he didn't know what he was doing there. I havn't seen or heard from Gary in over three years. We had been rivals ever since we started our training, but we made our peace eventually. Things sort of had a falling out. He approached me awkwardly and nodded. "Hey." "Hey." "Well, er...Good to see ya again,"he said uncomfortably. "Likewise,"I replied. Brock came up and put his arms around our shoulders. "How've you been making, Ash?"he said. "Great,"I said. Brock looked around. "Where's Zach?" "That is one of the reason's we have called you here."said Gennin. I jumped. I had almost forgotten they were here. "Zach has taken long-term leave." "But why?"I asked. "That's the other reason,"replied Gennin. "He has gone to gather old freinds. To rebind old ties. That is why we have called your friends here as well." "But he left so suddenly,"I pressed. "Time was of the essence,"Said Gennin. "Young Master Jones received a disturbing vision." "A vision?" "Yes,"he replied. "Of something that can all be summed up in one word: War." There was silence that followed these words. Brock broke it. "War?"he said. "Between who?" "Everyone. It would eventually effect everyone,"he replied. "Master Jones told us about this stirring turn of events and we acted at once to counter it." "But who is behind this?"I asked. Gennin paused. "That is the most troubling thing."He took a deep breath. "Have you ever heard the story of the Dragon of the east?" I was very suprised. I knew that story. I knew that story very well. It was the story my mother used to tell me before I went to bed at night when I was little. "Well, the story goes that There was a kingdom to the south that was at war with the kingdom to the north. During the war there came word that the enemy leader was no human, it was a Dragon. The fierce Black Dragon of the west. They knew that they were no match for this Dragon, so what could they do? They knew the enemy would attack any day. They did the only thing they could do, pray to the Great Dragon of the east. Mabey he would save them. It was thier only hope." This was exactly as my mother told it. I looked over and saw everybody very into the story. Pikachu crawled down onto the carpet and fell asleep. Master Gennin cleared his throat and continued. "When the enemy reached their gates, they did all they could to defend their great city. But the black dragon's army was too grand, and out numbered them twenty to one. They were pulled back to the keep, and all escape was cut off. They knelt down and made one last prayer. "Then, over the horizon, a light even greater than the sun shone over the mountains. Their prayers had been answered. The Dragon of the east had come to save them. Over the mountain it flew with such grace it was breathtaking, and following him was an army those of the past. When the soldiers were dead, the mighty Black Dragon of the west and the Great Red Dragon of the east fought. An epic battle as fortold in the prophecy, and in a rain of fire, ice, and stone, the mighty Black Dragon was defeated. "The people of the kingdom offered everything they had to the Great Dragon,"Gennin continued. "But he declined. 'The Red Dragon is destined to protect the people of the world,'he said to the people. "And so it shall always be.'And at those words, he disappeared in brilliant blue flames. "From then on in,"Master Gennin continued. "The people of the city told the story of the great war of the Dragons, for they knew that was one story that would never die." There was a silence when he finished the story. Master Gennin cleared his throat and spoke again. "A mere child's story, is it not?" "I guess,"I replied. "Or is it?"said Gennin. "What do you mean?"I asked. "The Great Red Dragon once existed, and still exists to this day,"he replied. "How?"I asked, confused. "It's just a story. Is he like a pokemon or something?" "Yes,"said Gennin. "And no. The Red Dragon is the connection between pokemon and man. In many ways he is both, and in many ways he is neither. But there has always been a Dragon to protect the people, but not only does he protect the people, so does his family. You yourself have met one of his family." "Have I?"I said, confused at how he could know this. "Yes,"he replied. "Lugia. The great beast that aided the chosen one in the legend. The brother of the Great Red Dragon. In the legend, the Great Dragon's family would each play a role in the earth. Some took human form, others pokemon form. But each in thier own way they would aid the human race, but there was a flaw. "The Red Dragon was not immortal, unlike his family,"continued Gennin. "No, that was the price to pay for destiny. It was stated that when the Great Red Dragon passed away of, might I say, extreme old age, than a generation in his bloodline would inherit this awsome responsibility. He would protect the people of this world, as forever so the prophecy shall tell. "But what many have come to realize was that with light, darkness must exist,"said Gennin. "For there is another force at work. The Mighty and Terrible Black Dragon from the legend, was more than just a warlord or a tyrant. No, he was part of the Red Dragon's family, in fact, he was more. He was The Great Dragon's father. Thousands of years ago, The Great Black Dragon was corrupt and seceded from the family, causing a great conflict within it. It was fortold that the Red Dragon, the eldest of the family, would quarrell with the Black Dragon in the end. "But, like his son, the Black Dragon was not immortal either. And also like his son, when he died, his powers would be passed down his bloodline. But unlike his son, only one in hundreds of that bloodline would be chosen. This would seal the destiny." Gennin paused. "We beleive we have found the Black Dragon." There was a stirring silence that followed these words. "Found him?"I asked finally. "How?" "That is exactly what Master Jones has gone to examine,"replied Gennin. "But in the meantime, we must move everyone in this temple to a safe place." I was stunned. "Why?"I asked. "The council believes that we are in danger,"said a voice from behind me. I turned and saw Sabrina in the doorway. She walked over and stood at her spot by the council. "Madame Sabrina is right,"said Gennin. "We must get the academy to our fortress in the Orange islands." "When do we leave?"I asked. "As soon as possible,"replied Gennin. "Are you prepared?" "I am,"I replied, still shocked of what was going on. "Exellent,"said Gennin. "Than let's prepare for our departure." Hey Hope you enjoyed it! I'll write some more real soon and It won't take this long I promise! And please don't forget to review, it makes me feel happy! Until then, you know the drill, Keep a stick on the ice!
